Naga Chaitanya has been struggling to find success lately. His last three films failed at the box office leaving the young Akkineni in a spot of bother. He was on a roll when he scored back to back hits with Premam and Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam. But he failed to capitalize on that success by choosing wrong scripts.

He blindly trusted in Maruthi’s abilities of making a wholesome entertainer and did Shailaja Reddy Alludu, which turned out to be a disappointment. His previous film Yuddham Sharanam was a forgettable dud. Savyasachi, the most recent movie of Naga Chaitanya also tanked at the box office. Naga Chaitanya needs to bounce back soon with so many actors competing in the mid table.

Chay’s next film is with his wife Samantha who proved to be lucky charm for many actors. Even Chay scored a couple of hits with Samantha. Can she bring success to Chay again with Shiva Nirvana’s film? This film is sure going to grab eyeballs with Sam and Chay romancing on screen for the first time post marriage. Let’s wish that Chay would bounce back with this yet to be titled romantic drama.

Long back hero Sharwanand has started an action crime thriller, but the film is nowhere near to the finish line, though the actor has wrapped another movie all the while. So, what is worrying about the talented hero anyway?

Way back in November 2017, the film of Sharwanand under Swamy Ra Ra fame director Sudheer Varma got launched. Even after a year is gone, this film is yet to be wrapped with producers saying that only 75% is completed so far. Keeping this film aside, however, Sharwa wrapped Padi Padi Lechenu Manasu. So what’s the cause for this delay?

Apparently, after watching the rushes of the film, hero Sharwa is said to have felt that Sudheer Varma is making something that is very close to Dochay and Kesava. For that reason, he wanted to pause the film and asked the director to rework on the script. From then, the reworks are going on.

Suggesting some reshoots, we hear that Sharwa is pushing the director to can some scenes again with intensity and drama rather just the action elements and comedy.

Nithya Menen has been in news in the recent times especially after she has been seen as Savithri in the latest still of NTR biopic. She has also bagged a Bollywood project Mission Mangal and will be sharing screen space with more than five big actors from the industry. While Akshay Kumar is playing the lead role, the film also has Sonakshi Sinha, Tapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan and others are also part of this move.

Nithya has given an interview to a recent news agency where she has revealed many things about her upcoming projects including Mission Mangal, NTR and even The Iron Lady.

On one fine day, director Jagan Shakti and producer R Balki had called her, saying that they would love Nithya to play a scientist in a really interesting film that they are doing. They also told her that Akshay Kumar was keen on her being a part of the film.

“In the past also, I was offered plenty of Hindi films. I just wanted to be as choosy with Hindi as I was with films in other languages that I have done. I wanted it (debut Hindi film) to be a really nice film. I found this a nice character. I don’t think we have done a film like this… you know, a space film,” said Nithya.

Nithya will start shooting for this film from the end of this month and she will be sharing screen space with Vidya and will also be seen together in a biopic on the legendary actor-politician NT Rama Rao. “I met her (Vidya) at the shoot of NTR’s biopic. We have one scene together. She said she had watched my films ‘OK Kanmani’ and ‘Bangalore Days’,” said Nithya.

Nithya will star in another biopic, playing late politician Jayalalitha in The Iron Lady. “The film on Jayalalitha is very heavy. I was very impressed when the film’s director Priyadarshini came with the film to me. She was so focussed. I told her that if we are doing a biopic, we should ensure complete justice to the character. She was going in the right direction and was extremely confident. I am really looking forward to do that film. That will be interesting to explore as an artiste,” she said.

The keenly anticipated film ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ had its release a day after Diwali but it got the worst reviews of the year. The film had collected a shattering Rs 50 crore on the first day and has crossed the domestic record of Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Happy New Year.’

But on the following day, the scenario is completely different. As per the latest reports, the film only managed to collect Rs 28 crore on the second day and about fifty percent footfall is registered. In about 5000 screens across the country, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ had arrived at the box office.

It was expected to do some mind blowing numbers but negative reviews and poor word of mouth, literally killed the film. Not stopping here, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ has become a butt of jokes in the social media. The trollers are not even sparing Aamir Khan who has decent credibility.

Made with a budget of Rs 300 crore, looks like the film is going to end up as a huge disaster and many distributors will certainly face unbearable losses.

Producer Dil Raju is hell bent on scoring a super hit at the box office because most of his recent productions tanked. At the same time, he is making sure that none of his upcoming films will depend on the box office to save themselves, but he wants table profits.

That is the reason he has started the business of Mahesh’s Maharshi, even before the teaser of the film is out. Like we said already, Raju has demanded over 25 crores for the Hindi dubbing and digital rights of the film, citing that Rangasthalam was given 22 crores. But after an action entertainer like Aravinda Sametha fetched only 18 crores, there is no option to Raju than budging.

Latest reports have that the leading producer finally sold Maharshi at 20 crores as he is in deep need of cash at the moment. TV telecast rights, dubbing rights, and digital release rights are included in this deal. Raju will not be forcing Mahesh and director Vamsi Paidipally to shoot any extra fight sequence now this price is locked with an agreement that there will be no such additions.

Directed by Vamsi Paidipally, Maharshi is being shot in India and USA. The film has Allari Naresh in a crucial role, while Pooja Hegde is the leading lady.

To promote a film, one need not share bizarre stuff but with nothing exciting to share, unusual things will be shared by our makers. It looks like the similar thing is happening with director Sreenu Vaita, whose film Amar Akbar Antony is set for November 16th release.

Talking about the film’s shoot that took place in the USA, Vaitla revealed about the already known shooting experience at Jennifer Lopez’s mansion. Earlier the makers have given a coloring as if they took permission from J.Lo and shot scenes there, but actually, the mansion was long back owned by an NRI Telugu businessman named Mallareddy.

“It is quite stunning to shoot at J.Lo’s mansion owned by Mallareddy garu. When we thought of shooting the part related to Akbar’s character somewhere in Europe, we have come across this antique looking building owned by J.Lo that could fill our need” said Vaitla. And the bizarre statement comes like this. “Even Mallareddy garu hasn’t slept in the bedroom once used by Jennifer Lopez, but I used to sleep there”, he added.

Earlier Prakash Raj was famous for asking 6-7 lakhs per day and Tollywood obliged to pay that because of the value addition he brings to a movie with his screen presence. And now, Satya Raj is said to be asking for more than 10 lakhs per day to make his presence felt as hero’s father in Telugu movies.

Though 10 lakhs per day is huge and looks like it is burning pockets of the producer, it’s worth it, we have to say. His presence is bringing that new and dynamic look to Telugu films.

Even if it is just to promote a film, some revelations are quite unrealistic to believe. Here is one such thing being made by Taxiwala heroine, newcomer Priyanka Jawalkar, who is well known in the short films circuit.

While promoting the movie, Priyanka claimed that there is a scene where she should behave like a drunkard such that it looks like she became uncontrollable. It took a couple of nights for the director to wrap this scenes and for all those nights, she is said to have sipped Vodka.

Talking about the role, she herself revealed that every night her assistant used to give her vodka mixed in fruit juice such that she will give a freewheeling acting performance. She consumed alcohol daily to give her best shots in those days. While the actress feels this is equal to a method acting, many wonder if she is telling truth about the drinking episode in the first place.

Because heroine’s drunk acts, if misfired, would get a bad name to Geetha Arts, with his affiliates producing the movie.

All the above said heroes have started off as somewhat confused folks, who want to do mass films always but are unable to overcome that class body language. But some films acted as turning points, where they opened up much and from then, they started carrying every story on their shoulders quite easily. Even if there is no story, they are able to do justice to the film.

It Seems like the mass film set in a vintage village backdrop, Rangasthalam, has made Charan open up in the same way. Looking at the way the mega hero carried himself in Vinaya Vidheya Rama teaser, we could easily say that he is carrying the whole film with ease and confidence in his rather massy avatar. Charan should be thanking Rangasthalam for that.

On the other hand, a bit of logic and sensibility into mass movies is going to work big time at the box office. That is what Rangasthalam and also Aravinda Sametha proved. So we have to see what is that soul Boyapati Sreenu induced into this film, #VRR.
