Actually when Geetha Arts came up with “Geetha Govindam”, the film’s overseas collections have stunned many. Because Vijay has surprised by achieving a feat that other big stars like Ram Charan are struggling from a while. Geetha Govindam, in fact, collected 2.46 million dollars from USA box office in its full run. That means the film has collected nearly 20+ crores gross (11.5+ crores share) thereby giving huge profits, as the distributors bought the film only for ₹ 2.7 crores.
Looking at these figures, Vijay himself jumped into the Overseas distribution market and along with a partner bought his next film NOTA for ₹ 3.5 crores. You know that the film made only 340K+ dollars, mean ₹ 1.5+ crores share overall. So it proved the point that only content will take the fate of a film to a new level, provided with actors are brand ambassadors of it.
Notably as these two films, Geetha Govindam and NOTA released in just two months gap, one could easily weigh down their theories here. Especially heroes show be very conscious when it comes to picking stories.

Jagan Upset With Pawan: Patch-Up Bid Failed?
The attempts to bring about a patch-up between YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan seem to have failed, mainly due to self-aggrandisement behaviour of the latter.
Apparently, Pawan was carried away by the massive crowds mobilised for his Kavathu on Dowleshwaram barrage on Monday.
He has become so overconfident that he would definitely become the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh in the next elections, as was evident from his appeal to the people to raise “CM, CM” slogans.
Naturally, this has angered the YSR Congress party leaders and cadre who have been struggling hard for the last four years to see their boss Jagan in the hot seat.
What has upset them more was the allegations levelled by Pawan against Jagan, without even bothering about the attempts behind the screen to bring YSRC and Jana Sena together.
YSRC spokesman Alla Nani on Wednesday wondered what Pawan was trying to prove with his Jana Sena Kavaathu.
“Instead of attacking the ruling Telugu Desam Party in strongest words for its failure to administer the state, Pawan sought to target the Opposition party,” he said.
Referring to Pawan’s comments attributing factionism to Jagan and his father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, the YSRC leader said the Jana Sena leader himself spoke like a faction leader.
“People are not able to understand the psychological status of Pawan Kalyan. Does he have any evidences to prove that Jagan was a factionist?,” he asked.
Nani pointed out that YSR and his family had never supported any kind of factionism in Rayalaseema.
“In fact, YSR had allowed his rivals to go scot free though they had killed his father Raja Reddy. The allegations levelled by Pawan against YSR and Jagan were completely baseless. Jagan was implicated falsely in the CBI cases filed by the Congress and the TDP, but not a single case was proved against him,” he pointed out.
The YSRC leader said it was Jagan who had been waging relentless battle for the special category status and there was not a single instance of Pawan pulling up the Centre in this regard.
“Pawan is living in fool’s paradise if he thinks he would get people’s support by criticising Jagan,” he said and warned that people would teach him a fitting lesson to Jana Sena Party chief who was only trying to benefit the TDP indirectly.
No Takers For KCR’s Claim On Settlers!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is of the view that the people have a very short memory and they will not remember the past, but would be carried away by whatever he says in his typical style.
His latest statements owning up the Seemandhra settlers in Telangana as part of Telangana only show how he is trying to take them for a ride, assuming that they had forgotten what he had said about them during the Telangana movement and even in the recent past.
On Tuesday, KCR sought to appease the Andhra settlers as the natives of Telangana. Obviously this is out of fear that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minster N Chandrababu Naidu might attract their votes in the coming elections.
Though Naidu had so far not entered the electioneering nor had disclosed his election strategy in Telangana, the TRS chief has already started attacking him, accusing him of attempting to create rift between people of Andhra origin and Telangana natives for his political gains.
What is surprising is that KCR was describing the TDP as an Andhra party and Naidu as an Andhra leader who has no business in Telangana, while trying to describe Andhra settlers as Telanganites.
He asked people of Andhra origin to shed their feeling of being outsiders or settlers.
“You are as much part of Telangana society as Telangana natives and you should proudly claim yourself as Telanganites,” he suggested.
At the same time, KCR says TRS had made at least 12 persons of Andhra origin as corporators in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation as well as around six MLAs who had their roots in Andhra Pradesh. This is more surprising, as all the six MLAs of Andhra origin were actually elected on the TDP ticket.
But the people of Andhra origin have not forgotten KCR’s call: “Telangna wale Jago, Andhra wale Bhago” during the movement.
He even described Andhra settlers are demons, stating: “Lankalo puttina vaaranthaa Rakshasule” (all those who were born in Lanka are demons).
People still remember how the TRS activists prevented Andhra people from returning to Hyderabad after Sankranti vacations and damaged their properties in Andhra, at the call of KCR.
Now, the same gentlemen is talking sweetly with the Andhra settlers and want them to feel proud to be Telanganites.
If Andhra people are part of Telangana, what is the need for bifurcation then, Mr KCR?
Antariksham Teaser: Ghazi Director’s Space Adventure
Sankalp Reddy, who made debut with a critically acclaimed hit Ghazi, is coming up with Antariksham.The film is set in space and its 57-second teaser looks stunningly promising. Once again Sankalp builds the tension in a cramped up setting.
Antariksham is definitely a unique film amid regular entertainers and thrillers. It is a challenge for its technical crew and makers to make an authentic space thriller within a limited budget. But the visuals from the teaser looks like they have pulled it off well.
The film features Varun Tej, Aditi Rao Hydari and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles.Antariksham is presented by director Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by Sai Baba Jagarlamudi and Rajeev Reddy Yeduguru.Visuals, music and the setting are going to make a lasting impression on viewers and make them eagerly wait for the film. It will be out in theaters from December 21.
Trivikram Yet to Take Final Call!
‘Aravindha Sametha’ has given mixed results to director Trivikram. The film has proved that he can make a serious movie without resorting to silly comedy successfully. He also showed that he can still write powerful dialogues.
But the film didn’t win a section of audiences due to lack of entertainment and excessive violence. This is why the film is struggling to go past $2 million mark in the overseas market, the territory is considered to be Trivikram’s major fortress.
Overseas audiences don’t like films that don’t offer entertainment or good catchy music.
Yet, Trivikram is enjoying the result of “Aravindha Sametha” immensely as the film raked in good money in Telugu states and it also brought him out of his failure mood, following “Agnyaathavasi”.
He will now be focusing on his next movie, which is mostly likely to be with Allu Arjun. But Trivikram has to take a final call about his next film.
There is also talk that he may direct a medium-budget movie this time to give more profits to his producer.
Oct 18th: Two Less Hyped Films Fighting For Share
While people are going to celebrate Dasara festival in all its grandeur, at the same they are going to find happiness in watching their favourite hero on the silver screen. For that reason, many filmmakers often target festivals.
Unlike previous big festivals where biggies failed big time, this time we have Aravinda Sametha doing well such that Tollywood will celebrate a glorious Dasara. And then, we have two more hitting cinemas on October 18th, on the day of the festival itself. They are none other than Ram’s Hello Guru Prema Kosame and Vishal’s Pandem Kodi 2.
Surprising thing is that both Ram and Vishal are doing only limited promotions for their films, banking more on the word of mouth on release day. We have to say that both the films are carrying less hype for now due to simple trailers and pretty average songs. Only their merit will pull more crowds towards them after the release.
And then, both the films are in need of a hit as their producers invested decent amounts on them. While Vishal has some successes now and then, Ram needs a blockbuster badly to stay in the race. Let’s see what happens.
Rumour: Black Money Funding For NTR Movie
Apparently this talk of ‘black money’ always clouds around some big ventures in film industry. And some say that, few people intentionally pour money to get a film of their choice. Back then, when the movie “Rakta Charitra” came up, similar rumours were heard.
It was said during Rakta Charitra times that director-producer Ram Gopal Varma has got huge financial funding to make this film. Then when Rakta Charitra 2 released, showcasing that even the character of Surya (who played the rumoured Maddelacheruvu Suri) is a heroic one, there were doubts that the slain factionist might have funded the film.
And now, with Varma announcing that he is making “Lakshmi’s NTR”, there is a buzz as usual that he’s getting some black money as a funding. But one wonders who will be the benefactors if they fund to make this film? There are two theroies then. Either Lakshmi Parvathi should fund it for her own benefits, or some detractors of Chandrababu Naidu should provide the unseen financial support to make sure that the AP CM gets tarnished inside the film.
Sources close to Ram Gopal Varma however condemned all these rumours saying that they are genuinely making a biopic on NTR focusing on the period where he’s with Lakshmi Parvathi.
Buzz: Chiru Not Objecting To Seflies In Georgia
Shooting of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest movie “Sye Raa” is going on in Georgia where director Surender Reddy and his team are filming the massive climax war sequence. And here is an interesting snippet coming all the way.
Things are different if Megastar is shooting in Hyderabad at the specially erected sets of Sye Raa in Kokapet area. There will be huge security deployed, not even some fans are allowed to go inside and forget about getting a selfie with the matinee idol. But it looks like Georgia has something to offer.
Many mega fans who are working and living in Europe are said to be reaching Georgia now to hang out at Sye Raa sets. Especially the ones from Belgium and Germany are said to be flying there and to their biggest happiness, actually, Megastar Chiru is meeting and posing with them.
While Chiru might have objected to photographs in Hyderabad fearing that his look might get leaked, but back in Georgia, he’s not against the proposal. We’re seeing so many fans with million dollar smiles for that mega picture.
Anupama was shocked: Ram
Ram Pothineni feels that his fans are used to his lover boy image and the mass roles he did earlier to it. The actor is trial of trying his luck with films in different genres and said that he is looking forward for such project that would excite the actor in him. During the promotions of his upcoming film Hello Guru Premakosame, the actor spoke more about the film.
When asked to justify the title, the actor said, “Whatever I do or go through, in this film, it is only to earn the love of the girl. It is a beautiful love story to which all of us can connect to. I have loved it and hope even the audience would like to. Trinadha Rao has directed the film very well and is different from the other film he has directed till now.”
Anupama and Ram have previously paired for Unnadi Okate Zindagi and they looked good on screen. When asked about how working with her again was, Ram said that Anupama was a hardworking person. He also said, “Seeing me as Abhiraam in the previous film and the transformation I went through for this film, she was shocked. We always had fun on sets.”
Asked about what his upcoming films are, the actor said that nothing is fixed yet and that he is still in the talks with few directors.
Behind The Scene: A Tale Far-Fetched
Recently, the Income-Tax Department officials conducted raids on the properties, residences and offices of TDP MP CM Ramesh.Everyone knows it is a case of political vendetta and KCR had done the same to Jagga Reddy albeit it was a criminal case.
This is quite common in politics and when the victim’s party forms the government the next time, they pay back with interest.However, CM Ramesh made one statement to the media. He said that the IT officials who conducted the raids warned him of serious consequences if he did not stop criticising the Union government.
Now, this is hard to believe. CBI or Income Tax, the officials merely act on instructions from higher-ups who in turn are dictated to by their political masters.Therefore, no sensible official would threaten or blackmail or act as an agent of the Union government in the course of duty. He just doesn’t need to.
The raids itself are sending a message. Which officer would jeopardise himself by speaking in such a way? In trying to create sympathy or derive political mileage for himself out of these raids, Ramesh may have been exaggerating or just taking people for fools who would blindly believe anything he says.
Exclusive: Mahesh’s Next In Telangana Backdrop
From a time we have already revealed that director Sukumar is doing extensive research to come up with a sensational story for Superstar Mahesh. Though there are rumours here and now that the project is getting delayed, a buzz revealed that the Rangasthalam director is carving a never before kind of story.
As the film Rangasthalam got super successful, director Sukumar is said to be researching more on vintage backdrops and old stories. In that process, he’s said to have found a story of a Telangana warrior who has fought against the Nizam in the 1900s. As vintage films are the flavour of the season, with the likes of Megastar’s Sye Raa, Prabhas-RK film and others turning up seem like Sukku is bitten by that bug again.
Mahesh is said to have liked the story and he asked Sukumar to develop the complete sketch of his character, a source said. It will be interesting to see Mahesh uttering Telangana dialect now in case if this story materialises into a film. That said, is the star hero taken over by Arjun Reddy influence is something we have to see.
Currently enjoying his short vacation in Germany with wife and kids, Mahesh will be soon coming back to India to wrap “Maharshi” being directed by Vamsi Paidipally.
