One-Family-One Ticket Rule Only For A Few?
It looks like the Telangana Congress Committee is learnt to have given a go by the condition set by the All India Congress Committee that only one member from one family would be given the party ticket for the assembly elections.
The first list of 24 names finalized by the Pradesh Congress Committee’s election committee on Wednesday comprises at least three families getting two seats each.
PCC chief Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy will contest from Huzurnagar, while his wife Padmavathi will contest from Kodad.
Similarly, former home minister Sabita Indra Reddy will contest from Maheshwaram, while her son P Karthik Reddy will contest form Rajendranagar constituency.
Former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy will contest from Nalgonda and his brother Rajagopal Reddy will be in fray from Munugode assembly constituency.
Some of the big names finalized in the first list are: A Revanth Reddy (Kodangal), Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy (Bhupalpalli), Konda Surekha (Parkal), Ponnala Lakshmaiah (Jangaon), Kuna Srisailam Goud (Qutbullapur), D Sudheer Reddy (L B Nagar), Pratap Reddy (Shadnagar), Shabbir Ali (Kama Reddy), Sudershan Reddy (Bodhan), D Sridhar Babu (Manthani), Maheshwar Reddy (Nirmal), Jeevan Reddy (Jagitial), K Jana Reddy (Nagarjunasagar), Geetha Reddy (Zaheerabad), Damodar Rajanarasimha (Andole), T Jayaprakash Reddy (Sangareddy), Ponnam Prabhakar (Karimnagar), D K Aruna (Gadwal), Sampath Kumar (Alampur), Chinna Reddy (Wanaparthy) and M Bhatti Vikramarka (Madhira).
The PEC met to shortlist the party candidates after examining the applications received from the aspirants with the help of surveys being conducted on their winning chances.
The AICC appointed committee would select the first best among them and would submit the list to the core committee of the AICC for announcement of the official candidates.
The PEC would pick up the aspirants on the basis of their popularity among masses, their loyalty towards the party, financial strength and their performance in the previous elections.
Forget Numbers, Upasana Is Leading The Pack
Other day with Allu Arjun’s wife Sneha Reddy’s PR team bragging about the 1 Million followers she amassed on Instagram, people are busy checking numbers of these star wives. And that led to some interesting debates.
Many wonder how come former heroine Namrata Shirodkar has just 800K followers on the social media app though she’s quite famous in social circles. At the same time, Mega daughter-in-law Upasana Konidela is also having only 744K followers on Instagram. Observers, however, say that we should ignore these numbers and talk about something else.
Actually, Namrata’s Insta posts deal most of the time with family pictures, developmental work taken by Mahesh and Mahesh’s movies. Same is the case with Allu Arjun’s wife who occasionally posts her travel pictures too. But Upasana is something pretty different than these two though she too shares all the above types of posts.
Upasana gives a lot of fitness tips, she speaks about wellbeing, cooking healthy foods, endorses good work of her friends and family, talks about religion and devotion, and much more. Koratala Siva’s Announcement on His Next Films
Writer-turned-director Koratala Siva has certainly come a long way. With several blockbusters – including Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Bharat Ane Nenu – under his belt, Siva is one of the most sought-after directors today in Tollywood. Naturally, several big stars and producers are vying up to collaborate with him.
Amidst this, Koratala Siva has surprised all by announcing his association with his childhood friend. Siva announced that most of his next films will be in association with his close friend Mikkilineni Sudhakar who is a big distributor and turning into producer. On Sudhakar’s birthday, Siva announced that his next films would be made in association with Yuva Sudha Arts of Mikkilineni Sudhakar.
“Happy to announce that most of my future endeavours will be in association with yuvasudhaarts,” wrote Koratala Siva.While many forget friends after achieving success, Koratala Siva hasn’t forgotten his roots, friends. He once again proved how much Siva values his relationships.
Rangasthalam And Arjun Reddy Made Me Jealous
Generally, many directors and star heroes keep a close watch on the films of other competitors that are releasing in theatres. But they don’t speak openly about them, for reasons better known to them. However, Trivikram is an exception.
Other day Trivikram revealed during the promotions of Aravinda Sametha that he keeps a tab of all the releases no matter how much busy he is. “I watch all the films that are doing good and I do watch only in a theatre,” he says, adding that watching in home theatres will kill the theatrical experience.
Guess what he has to say about some super hits of 2018: “Films like Rangasthalam, Arjun Reddy, RX100 and Goodachari have made me jealous too. Both in terms of content and production values, they are well ahead of what we are crafting. Such films challenged me to come up with something new and fresh” avers Trivikram.
Looks like the fresh content that is coming to TOllywood has an impact on Trivikram too. So should we expect that he has dealt Aravinda Sametha in a different way than usual? A day more, the truth will be out!!
NTR Eyeing $1 Million Premiere Number?
NTR is one of the top Tollywood stars who commands more than half million dollars opening from premiere shows at USA box-office.His recent movies “Janatha Garage” and “Jai Lava Kusa” both had grossed $589k and $584k respectively from premiere shows.
This time he has set eyes to rake in more money given the name of Trivikram is attached to “Aravindha Sametha” that is premiering tonight in USA.Trivikram’s past movie Pawan Kalyan starrer “Agnyaathavasi” grossed $1.5 million from premiere shows but it tanked later.
Hence, NTR is hoping to get anywhere between 700k to $1 million from premiere shows for “Aravindha Sametha”.The film is having huge craze. It has already got $300k from advance bookings. The trend of pre-sales predict that it would easily cross $600k figure.
It has to be seen whether NTR can get $1 million mark for the first time from premiere shows.
No To Martyrs, Yes To Defectors!
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who has been trying to play the Telangana sentiment card once again by attacking the Congress-Telugu Desam Party combine, has once again proved that he is a master in maintaining double standards.It was evident from the way the TRS chief denied tickets to real Telangana fighters and gave ticket to those who opposed Telangana state formation and even attacked Telangana agitators during the movement.
For example, KCR has denied ticket to Sankaramma, mother of Telangana youth Srikantha Chary, who had immolated himself to death during the Telangana movement.Despite repeated requests for the party ticket from Huzurnagar, he declined the same and gave it to on Saidi Reddy, who was no way connected with the Telangana movement.In the second list that was leaked to the media, the TRS chief rewarded defectors and anti-Telangana leaders with party tickets.
They include S Malla Reddy from Medchal, Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao from Malkajgiri, Danam Nagender from Khairatabad, Mutha Gopal from Musheerabad, Prem Singh Rathod from Goshamahal and Venepalli Chander Rao from Kodad.Of them, Danam defected from the Congress and Rathod from BJP; and the remaining from TDP, which KCR says is anti-Telangana. And none of them had the history of participating in the Telangana movement.
Even the candidate announced for Warangal (East) constituency Nannapaneni Narender in place of Konda Surekha, was a hard core TDP leader with no contribution to the Telangana movement. He joined the TRS in 2014 and became the Warangal Mayor later.
As expected, three other sitting MLAs Bodige Shobha of Choppadandi, M Sudheer Reddy of Medchal and C Kanaka Reddy of Malkajgiri are also being denied tickets this time, though they are hardcore party loyalists. Yet, they were set aside as KCR found more cash parties in these seats!
Hello Guru Prema Kosame Trailer: Recycled Romance!
Ram Pothineni’s upcoming Dussera release Hello Guru Prema Kosame trailer is out. There’s nothing refreshing about the concept and characters.Everything from hero’s character, parents, friends and heroine’s ideology gives us been-there-seen-that feel.
Director Trinadha Rao Nakkina and writer Prasanna have been successful in making template movies work.Therefore, they had stick to their strengths and apparently serving us another template romance comedy with stock characters.The trailer doesn’t create any curiosity but it appears to be a fun film targeted at festive crowds. Dil Raju is once again played safe by sticking to the formula.
A template romance needs a super hit sound track to create an impact, but the recently launched Devi’s soundtrack has been receiving underwhelming response from music lovers.Ram and Anupama look good together and Prakash Raj as ‘friend’ seems to be the main pillar of the film.On the whole, Hello Guru Prema Kosame seems to be a film that is similar to the last scene in the trailer.
A mumbling attempt from the makers to score pass marks in spite of not having strong and fresh content on hands.
Padi Padi Leche Manasu Teaser: An intimidating love tale
Director Hanu Raghavapudi is known for novelistic romantic dramas and he has brought yet another love tale in the form of ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu.’The teaser of the film is unveiled and it has Sharwanand and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The teaser starts of Sharwa following Pallavi wherever she goes and one fine day, she notices him stalking.
“Oye Levayya Le…. Yenti Follow Chestunnava,” questions Sai Pallavi and to this Sharwa replies, “Arre Meeku Thelisipoyindaa ??” But eventually they fall in love. That sums up the teaser.Once again Sharwa grabs the attention with his innocent looks while Sai Pallavi appears as a firebrand. The chemistry between is quite pleasing to see as well.
The last shot wherein Sharwa holds on to Pallavi in a boat on the backdrop of the Kolkata bridge is the highlight of the teaser.Vishal Chandrasekhar‘s background score for the teaser is just the thing while the cinematography by Jayakrishna is top class.
The film is releasing on December 21st.
Trivia: Jr NTR’s Fluent Kannada Talks
A couple of years ago, when composer Thaman invited Jr NTR to sing a Kannada song for hero Puneet Rajkumar, he did it with ease. At that time many are stunned by the way he’s able to sing in other language as well. But here is an interesting snippet.
Recently when Jr NTR is shooting for Aravinda Sametha, suddenly he got a call from a relative from his mother’s side. It happens to be a call to console him as his father Hari Krishna succumbed to a road accident recently. During that, Tarak is said to be talking in the Kannada language with his relatives, thereby stunning some of the technicians who overheard the conversation.
Actually Jr NTR’s mother Shalini Bhaskar Rao has roots in Karnataka, where her ancestors happen to be Telugu families settled in Bellary and Raichur. For that reason, she speaks fluent Kannada and NTR also learnt the language as he used to frequent his relatives there. That’s the reason being his Kannada prowess.
While Tarak is an excellent orator in Telugu, he’s pretty good with English, Hindi and Kannada as well, literally pulling off some versatile qualities to become a pan Indian actor. How about trying luck in other languages as well Tarak?
Dude, UR Not That Imp – Nikhil Counter To Vijay?
Vijay Deverakonda’s open letter to alleged “haters” and “trollers” has become a hot topic in Tollywood circuits. While many heroes are of the feeling that Vijay had targeted them, a young hero has even jumped and gave a strong counter to Vijay, albeit indirectly.
Without taking names, Nikhil has posted a GIF featuring former US president Barack Obama which sees him drop the mike in his hand indicating ‘You are nobody’. He also wrote, “For ppl who think -The World Revolves around them …. nd throw unnecessary Attitude around..DUDE UR NOT THAT IMPORTANT… Every Actor only Competes with Himself.We r but a drop in the ocean called Movie Making. Hype Less… Work More…”
Now many in industry are assuming that it was Nikhil’s counter to Vijay. Even Vijay fans have started trolling Nikhil with aggressive comments. While there is nothing wrong in Nikhil said, but the context of what he said had become the point of discussion. Even Vijay’s fans are now burning with anger.
Meanwhile, many of young heroes are said to be with Nikhil in this issue. One has to see where this all lead to.
First Look: Rakul, No Match To Sridevi!
After a long gap, finally Rakul Preet Singh is going to appear on Telugu silver screen. This time she will be sizzling in a compelling role of late actress Sridevi for upcoming #NTR biopic.
On the eve of Rakul’s 28th birthday today #NTR unit has released the first look of Sridevi from their movie. While Rakul is looking quite gorgeous in her own way, she is no match to Sridevi for sure. That never ending charm and magical eyes of Athiloka Sundari are missing here. Looks like this dressing is from Vetagadu movie song scene and that needs more ‘chilipi’ kind of look which Rakul missed out big time.
Depsite the fact that director Krish got most of the casting perfect for this much awaited biopic, looks like finding right actresses to match veteran divas is a daunting task. Anyway, Rakul might impress with acting prowess if not looks. Good luck and happy birthday beauty!!
