On the sidelines of an interview, Akkineni Nagarjuna, who is promoting his latest movie “DevaDas” big time, has made a surprising comment.

When prodded about the thoughts he got after watching the final output, Nag stated that the film is shown to him very recently and that’s why he couldn’t suggest any changes. This is indirectly giving a message that there are portions in the film which Nagarjuna didn’t like. And that is worrying trade circles now.

With Nani’s presence, the film has done a pre-release business of 38+ crores in Telugu states alone. It has to become a solid hit to recover such an enormous share. Only positive reviews, hyped word of mouth will generate huge revenues for the movie. But if Nagarjuna is expressing his displeasure this way, as a chance is not given to him to re-edit or reshoot, it is going to affect the box office prospects.

At the same time, as a seasoned filmmaker like Ashwini Dutt has sold the whole film to Bollywood’s distribution and production giant ViaCom18, doubts are there if the film has got bombed. If we look at Tollywood’s track record, all the films that are sold to such big companies ended up as duds. Or, our makers are intelligently selling their films to such companies if they know that the result is going to backfire.

So what should we read for Devadas?

Finally, after almost a decade of being in a relationship secretly, Hyderabadi badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are all set to tie the knot on December 16. Saina and Kashyap had first met each other at their guru Pullela Gopichand Academy back in 2005.

New York: US television host Padma Lakshmi has said she was raped at the age of 16, but kept silent as she feared fingers would point at her for bringing it upon herself.

The 48-year-old Top Chef host, wrote a piece for the New York Times published on Tuesday, where she made the revelation.

The article was prompted by allegations surrounding US President Donald Trump’s choice for the Supreme Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by two women, the BBC reported.

However, Trump has defended Kavanaugh and cast doubt on the two women. He tweeted: “I have no doubt that, if the attack… was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents.

He also asked Christine Blasey Ford to make public her compliant “so that we can learn the date, time, and place”.

Lakshmi wrote: “President Trump tweeted that if what Ford said was true, she would have filed a police report years ago.

“But I understand why both women would keep this information to themselves for so many years without involving the police. For years, I did the same thing.”

Lakshmi said she was raped on New Year’s Eve by her boyfriend in the 1980s. She had met him, who was then 23, while working in Los Angeles.

After attending a couple of New Year’s Eve parties, she said they went to his apartment where she fell asleep, and woke up with him on top of her.

“I asked, ‘What are you doing?’…’Please don’t do this,’ I screamed. I didn’t report it. Not to my mother, not to my friends and certainly not to the police,” she wrote.

She said she began to feel the attack was her fault. She explained: “We had no language in the 1980s for date rape. I imagined that adults would say: ‘What the hell were you doing in his apartment?'”

She said she understood why women might not disclose sexual assaults.

Thirty-two years on, she says: “I have nothing to gain by talking about this.”

But she added, alluding to Trump’s implication that allegations not made immediately are less true or less severe: “We all have a lot to lose if we put a time limit on telling the truth about sexual assault.”

Her account won praise on social media.

The allegations against Judge Kavanaugh, which he has repeatedly denied, date back to the 1980s. Christine Blasey Ford, his first accuser, is due to testify before a US Senate panel this week.

Actress Tanushree Dutta trended all of Tuesday after she opened up about a 10-year-old controversy, in which she alleged that she was harassed by an actor on the sets of 2009 film Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss and now, for the first time, she pinned the blame on actor Nana Patekar (who headlined the cast of the film).

In an interview with Zoom TV, Tanushree Dutta said that even though the industry insiders allegedly knew about Nana Patekar’s reportedly indecent behaviour with women, no one spoke about it.

“Everyone knows about Nana Patekar that he has always been disrespectful towards women. People in the industry know about his background… that he has beaten actresses, he has molested them, his behaviour with women has always been crude but no publication has printed anything about it,” she told Zoom TV.

On Tuesday, when asked about the impact of #MeToo movement in the Indian film industry, the Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress told News18 that #MeToo movement won’t reach India until everyone acknowledges what happened with her a decade ago. She added that though people spoke about the controversy, nobody took action.

Taking Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth’s names, Tanushree said that there’s no hope for a better work environment if A-listers do not boycott actors like Nana Patekar.

She said: “Akshay Kumar has made few films with Nana Patekar in last eight years and Rajinikanth also recently worked with him (in Kaala)… If such big stars will keep working with these culprits then there’s no hope for any movement to happen.”

“Everyone has gossiped about this but they’ve never spoken. People with this kind of character speak like this against the kind of character that I have because they say she does glamourous roles so must be glamorous and all. Behind the back, they are so dirty. When you are in the industry you hear so many stories about these actors. But these things never take surface because they are PR packaged very well. They will give some money to some poor farmers. How much they do and how much they don’t know, no one knows. But all this is just for show,” she added.

Tanushree Dutta was reportedly signed for a special song sequence in Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss, which she eventually dropped, citing Nana Patekar’s misbehavior as reason.

Actor Nani has attended the interview of DevaDas which has held on Wednesday morning with a lot of difficulty. Arjun, Nani’s son has been admitted in the hospital last night for being unwell and Nani and his family are very much worried about the kid.

The actor wanted to cancel the interview as it was very much important for him to be with the kid as a father. Nani actually thought of cancelling the interview but forgot to inform the team of DevaDas.Yet, even after all the tension he has been going through, the actor had attended the interview and promoted the movie at the media meet.
