KCR’s recent comment offering ‘return gift’ to Chandrababu Naidu by entering into AP politics has sent shockwaves among YSRCP and Jana Sena.

KCR has given enough hints that he would support and campaign for YSRCP and Jana Sena to dethrone Chandrababu in the ensuing AP Assembly polls to be held in April 2019 as a ‘return gift’ to Chandrababu who worked against TRS in recent Telangana Assembly polls by forging Mahakutami with Congress, TJS and CPI.

However, KCR’s ‘return gift’ is learnt to have sent jitters down the spine of YSRCP and Jana Sena leaders and cadre.

They fear that if KCR campaigns or supports them in AP, it will only benefit TDP like Chandrababu’s support to Congress helped TRS to win elections with record majority.

Like Chandrababu’s campaign in Telangana flared up “Telangana sentiment’ against Andhra, they feel KCR’s campaign in AP will flare up ‘Andhra sentiment’ against Telangana, which will thrash YSRCP and Jana Sena.

YSRCP and Jana Sena leaders are requesting their respective party high commands not to invite or accept KCR campaigning for them and thereby benefitting the TDP.

TDP leaders on the other hand are happy over KCR’s ‘return gift’ if that meant campaigning for YSRCP and Jana Sena.

TDP chief Chandrababu, TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy and Minister Adinarayana Reddy heartily welcomed KCR into AP politics and campaign against TDP in the ensuing elections as they have learnt from their recent Telangana experience how Chandrababu’s campaign backfired and benefited TRS instead of benefiting Mahakutami.

Now that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has appointed his son K T Rama Rao as the working president of the party, there is a talk that there would be transfer of powers from father to son on decision making in the party as well.

First of all, the statement on appointment of KTR as party working president was released to the media from the Chief Minister’s Office, rather than the party office. It clearly shows that KTR has gained control over even the CMO.

Secondly, the statement clearly shows KTR is not just working president but actually an executive president, a term which appears to be newly coined.

Inquiries with the party leaders revealed that a working president will hardly have any powers and he has to run the show when the president is away, but an executive president is as powerful as a de facto president of the party with all executive powers.

If the talk doing rounds in the party circles are to be believed, it will be KTR who will have all the powers in the party and the government hereafter and any party leader should approach only KTR.

For all practical purposes, KCR will keep away from routine party affairs and he will attend only important meetings occasionally.

“There is no surprise even the ministerial berths and allotment of portfolios are decided by KTR and KCR will focus only on national issues in the coming days,” party sources said.

TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been giving sleepless nights to his party leaders and also his rivals in other parties in his second term as CM.

Stark contrast is being felt in the functioning of KCR in the first and second terms. In his first term, a cool, quiet and calm KCR was seen, who took enough time to take decisions, drag the things pertaining to party and government.

But in his second term, KCR is making swift moves both in government and party.

On the very first day of winning elections, he created tremors in AP politics by talking about giving ‘return gift’ to AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu.

Second day, he took decision all of a sudden to take oath as CM along with Mohd Mahmood Ali as minister designate.

Though other cabinet ministers were not sworn-in, KCR took a decision to allot home ministry to Mohd Mahmood Ali, the first one from Muslim minority section to become home minister after four decades.

Last time, then Undivided AP CM Marri Chenna Reddy made a Muslim, Hashim, home minister in 1979. This decision was announced on the night of Thursday.

On Friday, KCR again sprang a surprise by announcing the appointment of his son K T Rama Rao as the working president of TRS.

Normally, these decisions are announced during party’s plenary meetings. TRS party leaders and cadre were caught off-guard.

They are now tensed on what sudden decisions KCR might take in the coming days.

Speculations are rife that KCR may elevate his son K T Rama Rao as CM just before Lok Sabha polls in April 2019, after he feels confident that he can play crucial role in national politics by taking up political activities at national level from January to March.

They expect KCR’s sudden decision of making KTR as CM similar to that of making him working president when no one expected or there was any dire need to take such a fast decision.

All these factors are prompting TRS leaders and cadre to call CM KCR in second term as ‘Reloaded KCR 2.0” akin to Rajni’s “Robo 2.0”

“Chandrababu Naidu gave us a gift by interfering in Telangana politics. I shall return the gift to him,” said KCR while basking in the glory of his recent electoral win.

What stupidity is this on the part of KCR? Any Indian citizen can contest the elections anywhere across the country or own properties anywhere across the nation. So, what is this question of interference?

In fact, KCR owes his political birth to the TDP and although he might not be enamored of Naidu, he definitely cannot question the TDP’s right to contest the polls.

Did the BSP, a regional Party not win three seats in Rajasthan? Did MIM not win a couple of seats in the municipal elections in Maharashtra? Were they interfering?

KCR played a pivotal role in the T-agitation although Telangana might not have become a reality because of his efforts alone.

KCR’s motives were selfish but the end result was beneficial to the people of Telangana. Similarly, Naidu’s motives may have been selfish but it is undeniable that he played a key role in the development of Hyderabad.

When such a person contests the polls in a region where he was CM for nine years, is it interference? CBN and YSR put Hyderabad on an auto-pilot mode and KCR grabbed the whole venture overnight in the name of self-respect.

What exactly has KCR’s contribution been to making Telangana what it is today or at least in these four years? Zilch! Zero! Nothing!

Except for changing the name plates on government offices from AP to TS and earmarking a few foot of the pavement on Tank Bund as Bathukamma Ghat, what exactly has KCR done for Hyderabad?

When Naidu speaks of Hi-Tech city, KCR and KTR speak of Charminar. Well, it’s about time these imbeciles realised that Charminar does not feed people, Hi-Tech city does. Of course Naidu 2.0 is an utter failure in AP but that’s a different matter altogether.

Opposing Naidu because of his immoral kind of politics is understandable, but saying his decision to contest the polls in Telangana is interference? That’s too much from the pink boys!

YSR once said, “Under KCR, we might need a visa to visit Hyderabad.” That day doesn’t seem to be far away.

With the appointment of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s son and Siricilla MLA K T Rama Rao as the working president of the party, there is a talk in some sections of the media as to whether he would not be given a berth in the Telangana cabinet.

The doubt has been raised following the statement of KCR at the TRS executive committee meeting held at Telangana Bhavan on Friday afternoon.

The chief minister said KTR would be available to the party full-time from Saturday and would dedicate his entire time for the strengthening of the party at all levels.

This led to the talk as to whether KTR would not be taken into the cabinet.

“Going by the developments, it is unlikely that KTR will become a minister. But he would enjoy more powers than ministers, as he would decide the fate of several cabinet aspirants.

He would also take up the responsibility of filling up of nominated posts and other positions,” a political observer said.

However, there is a different argument. Nothing would prevent KTR from becoming a minister, just because he is appointed as party’s working president.

“If he is nurturing the ambitions of becoming the next chief minister if KCR moves to Delhi, he has to be in the cabinet and control the administration.

When KCR could handle the party and the government for over four and a half years, why can’t KTR run the party while continuing in the cabinet?” a party leader argued.
