Upset Over Special Category Status, 14-Yr-Old Commits Suicide
In a disturbing incident, a 14-year-old young student has claimed his valuable life. Upset over the denial of the Special Category Status that was promised by former Prime Minister to the new state of Andhra Pradesh on the floor of Parliament, student Mahendra from Kurnool’s Done took the drastic step. Mahendra was said to be deeply upset that his elder brother didn’t get a job due to the denial of the Special Category Status.
In his suicide note, the young boy had opined that his brother would have got a job had the Centre granted the Special Category Status to AP. He has also demanded for the SCS for the new state that is troubled with deficit-budget.
Cops have found the suicide note and seized it. Several political leaders have paid tributes to Mahendra and consoled the bereaved family. Congress leader Raghuveera Reddy visited the family members and handed over Rs 3 Lakh to the family.
He demanded the state government to announce an ex gratia of Rs 20 Lakh to the family along with a government job to his brother. Raghuveera, who spoke to media later, stated that AP would get Special Category Status as soon as Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister. He also said that Rahul would waive off the agricultural loans after he comes to power.
Sailaja Reddy Alludu : Crashes On First Monday
After a decent extended first weekend, all eyes were on Shailaja Reddy Alludu’s box office performance on the crucial first Monday. However, the film crashed heavily on Monday. It has collected only 15% of its first Sunday collections, which is catastrophic since only 50% of the investments have been recovered so far.
Sailaja Reddy Alludu has almost closed its business in the overseas markets and the returns are coming only from the domestic markets. The film’s 4th day share in the Telugu states is less than 50 lakhs.

Going by the first Monday numbers, Sailaja Reddy Alludu will now need a miracle for the buyers to get into the safe zone. All the buyers are looking at at least 30% losses, as they have acquired the film for nearly Rs 20 crores.
Needless to say that both Chay and his fans will be disappointed with the way things are turning out for Sailaja Reddy Alludu, which had shown a huge promise of becoming a solid hit in its first weekend. On the other hand, even Maruthi, who has been trying hard for that one solid hit which will give him the chance to direct a star hero, may have to wait a bit longer.

Hello Guru!! What Is This Govindam Touch!
Other day the teaser of Ram and Dil Rau’s latest outing “Hello Guru Prema Kosame” has taken everyone by a surprise. Especially the way director Trinadha Rao unveiled a hot new avatar of Anupama Parameswaran is the take away for movie lovers.
Apparently, looking at this teaser, each shot and the way romance is interestingly induced into each frame reminds us of another recent film. Yes, you’re right, the film’s teaser looked like a child version of “Geetha Govindam” teaser.
The way Anu doing some early morning chores and hero Ram observing her is more like Rashmika stoking her hair with a towel when Vijay Devarakonda lifts her. Also, the hazy look of the visuals, slow-motion shots and the eye-catching glamour of heroine in both HGPK and GG are the pretty same.
One needs to see if this Geetha Govindam touch is deliberately given owing to the fact that the latter is a stupendous hit at the box office, or it is just a mere coincidence.
In the recent times, films that raised curiosity levels with their first looks and teasers have really done well at box office. One has to see if Ram will break the flop jinx yet again like how he did it with Nenu Sailaja earlier.
Heroine Never Expected A Piglet Co-star
I never expected that I have to act with a piglet, says actor Nabha Natesh of Adhugo. In fact Adhugo is the first film which the Karnataka-based actor has signed but it is Nannu Dochukunduvate which is releasing first.
When asked about how Adhugo will be, Nabha said it is going to be interesting, really. ‘I never thought that I would be sharing screen space with a piglet actually (laughing). But it was a different experience on whole. The plot of the story is more about me and my travel where Bunty, the piglet will play a key role. Thanks to Ravi Babu,’ added Nabha.
Nabha is basically a Kannada heroine and her debut Kannada film is with Shivraj Kumar. She says that it was a cool debut indeed. ‘ The theatre and modelling which I was part of in Bangalore have helped me in becoming a better actor I say. I gave auditions to get into films and that’s how my Kannada debut has happened,’ said the actor who plays Siri in Nannu Dochukunduvate.
In Nannu Dochukunduvate, which is directed by RS Naidu, a debutant, Nabha will be playing a naughty girl and in fact, she has more number of dialogues than Sudheer Babu.
She also mentioned that the makers chose her as heroine only because of her energy levels which would match to the role.
All New Sexy Sivagami For Upcoming Baahubali
Ever since it is announced that Baahubali prequel will be coming up on the small screen, there is a huge buzz around the casting. But this one will not feature Baahubali and Bhallaladeva roles as the whole series revolves around life and times of Sivagami only.
To be directed by Praveen Sattaru and Deva Katta for Netflix, the prequel of Baahubali is based on the novel “Rise of Sivagami” written by Anand Neelakantan, a source revealed. After a lot of screening tests, finally, it looks like the makers have zeroed on a sexy lady for the leading role.
None other than TV serials fame Mrunal Thakur will be playing the role of Sivagami in this web series. She is famous for her role Bulbul in Kumkum Bhagya serial and recently acted in films like Love Sonia and Super30. We hear that the makers feel that Mrunal has all the guts and talents to match the stature of Ramyakrishna in the younger version.
The first season of this web series is likely to have 9 episodes and it will be released in 90 foreign languages at a time. Being made on a whopping budget, it’s the first fantasy genre series that is being produced by Netflix in India.
TDP Leading Congress Into A Trap?
There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics. Telugu Desam Party which was founded as an alternative to the Congress is today entering into an alliance with the Congress in Telangana.Of course, since it is not Chandrababu Naidu who founded the Party, taking this decision wouldn’t have been much difficult for him although NTR’s soul might be sobbing uncontrollably. But unknowingly, the Congress might actually be walking into a trap set by the TDP.
The TDP is looking for around 20 seats in which there are a large number of Seemandhra voters. However, there is every possibility of the TDP fielding dummy candidates in these constituencies to help the TRS! Why?For the simple reason that Naidu and the Kammas cannot afford to make the TRS angry at this point in time. Why?
Reason no 1: If TDP causes problems for the TRS, KCR might pursue the Stephenson case with renewed vigour and Naidu might have to go to jail.Reason no 2: Kammas have the bulk of their properties in Hyderabad and KCR will strike at them with a vengeance if anything goes wrong for him politically.
So Naidu, with his alleged covert Revanth Reddy might well be formulating a strategy in the form of an alliance with the Congress that could eventually work out to KCR’s benefit.
Reddy Sends Strong Signals To Allies
The talks over seat sharing within the partners of the yet-to-be formed grant alliance or Maha Kootami are facing a deadlock, with the Congress party deciding not to compromise on contesting the maximum number of seats in Telangana in the ensuing assembly elections.
Telangana PCC president Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy sent strong signals to the alliance partners that the Congress would be the leading partner in the alliance and it would have to come to power on its own.
“We are still negotiating on the composition of the grand alliance, its common minimum programme and formation of a coordination committee.
“We have to decide on who would head the coordination committee which would formulate a common manifesto. Only after that, we shall discuss about the seat sharing,” Uttam said in an informal chat with the media.
He said the Congress would not sacrifice any seats, in which it has fair chances of winning, for the sake of allies.
“The focus of the alliance will be defeating the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, but not disturbing our own seats. We have held first round of discussions and we shall continue with further rounds shortly,” he said.
Uttam said he had asked the All India Congress Committee to constitute party’s election committees, which were still under the examination of party president Rahul Gandhi.
“The screening committee is examining the applications of the Congress candidates for various seats. However, the list will not be released unless the grand alliance issue is not settled,” he said.
Actress’s Demands Put off Makers

Shruti Haasan performs in London for the first time
Actress-singer Shruti Haasan was happy to perform in London for the first time, and says she is planning more “music focused gigs internationally”.”It feels incredible to be back on stage performing. I have done a few shows in the last year but now the effort is to do more music focused gigs internationally, London being the start point,” Shruti said in a statement.
She performed on Monday at a trendy NED Hotel as part of their New Music Monday — a weekly showcase of new and emerging music acts and artists. The evening was organised by PowerStudio which is run by Benny D, a producer who has worked with the likes of Boy George, Kylie Minogue, The Killers, Lily Allen, Robbie Williams, Stormzy and Depeche Mode.
“I have been working on a significant and distinctive number of collaborations along with my original singles. The set at The Ned had a unique and interesting style which combines the contemporary elements of the West with the magic of The East and seeing the response we have already received for it is just fantastic. I have lots more in store on the music front which will unfold as the year progresses,” she added.
According to a source, Shruti has also been working on an EP with some producers in London, which is due to release in 2019.
Shruti will return to India later this week and resume her shoot for Mahesh Manjrekar’s next.
Is It Not JC’s Fault Too?
TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy’s arrogance took a severe beating and caused the unfortunate loss of life of one of his followers and several others were grievously injured.
Trouble started in Chinnapolamada of Tadipatri Mandal when the Ganesh procession of the villagers of Chinnapolamada ran into a congregation of devotees of Swamy Prabhodananda Ashram who had come to celebrate Janmashtami in large numbers. An argument broke out between the groups which resulted in violence.
The next day, the villagers, this time led by JC Diwakar Reddy and his followers arrived at the ashram again.
The police blocked him on the way and pleaded with Diwakar Reddy not to visit the ashram as it might flare up the situation again.
But Diwakar Reddy, perhaps emboldened by the presence of his private security went to the ashram and pretty soon, the villagers erected a tent there and started pelting stones into the ashram.
There were a large number of devotees in the ashram and in order to curb the stone pelting, around 50 of them emerged from the ashram armed with iron rods and petrol bombs and launched a vicious counter attack.
A fierce clash broke out between Diwakar Reddy’s private army and the ashram people and one Fakeerappa, a follower of the MP succumbed to his injuries.
Many others suffered serious injuries with fractured arms and legs and one man is in a coma and his condition is very critical.
The vehicles in which Diwakar Reddy and his men arrived were targeted and the windows broken. Sensing a serious threat, the police and followers of Diwakar Reddy whisked him away to safety.
The police then sent away the devotees of the ashram in various buses to their hometowns and brought the situation under control.
Diwakar Reddy and his followers then held a dharna at the police station blaming the police for failing to prevent the clashes. How ironical!
First of all, the Honourable MP does not heed the warning of the police not to go to the ashram. They then started pelting stones at the ashram inmates and at the end of the day, blame the police for failing to prevent the outbreak of violence. Therefore, JC Diwakar Reddy is also equally to blame for the sad turn of events.
Probably, the poor man did not expect to be at the receiving end despite being a notorious faction supporter himself.
Rashmika Breaks Silence on Breakup
After days of speculations, here comes the official statement. ‘Geetha Govindam’ fame Rashmika who recently called off her engagement with Kannada actor and director Rakshit Shetty put her version on Twitter late on Monday night.
She didn’t openly admit that she broke up with him but it is pretty evident what she’s trying to say. Both Rashmika and Rakshit have now officially parted ways.
She has also made it clear that she would act in Kannada films too.
