Attacks Cannot Silence Me, Says Jagan
Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram dist): In a hard hitting speech giving a blow by blow account of how Chandrababu Naidu was the force behind the October 25 attack at Vizag airport on him, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he will not be cowed down by such incidents but the resolve to fight injustice will be strengthened further paving way for value-based governance with accountability balancing welfare and development.
In his first public meeting after he resumed the Praja Sankalpa Yatra here on Saturday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, ‘the conspiracy angle involving the Chandrababu Naidu is written all over the sequence of events right from the non-functioning CC Cameras at Vizag airport from the day his Paada Yatra entered Visakhapatnam district till the withdrawal of consent to CBI from operating in Andhra Pradesh.
The vindictive politics of Chandrababu Naidu has been visible with clarity and categorical as the sequence runs into a pattern which clearly shows that there has been a conspiracy and the all players were playing their part.
Within less than an hour of the attack, the DGP, State Ministers and Chief Minister read out their respective lines to dilute the issue and the DGP even told that a letter was found in the pocket of the attacker and it comes out not immediately but after ten long hours and to the surprise of every one, all sheets are unfolded and the contents carry different handwriting.
How the knives have come into the VIP lounge and why was the Airport Restaurant owner Harshavardhan Choudhary, a TDP leader, was not questioned is not told. There were about 30 persons in the airport longue when the attack was carried out and they searched the assailant thoroughly but could find nothing on his person.
Chandrababu Naidu and his henchmen became the perpetrators of the conspiracy and they want to sit on judgement in the case by ordering a SIT inquiry. When we opposed and moved other avenues seeking independent inquiry the arrogance has come to the fore by withdrawing the consent for CBI to function independently in the state.
Much before the incident when my Padayatra was at its peak in March 2018, a film star reads out his tutored lines in the name of Operation of Garuda according to which there will be an attempt on the life of the Leader of Opposition following which there will be widespread disturbances and the Centre would destabilise the state government, he said.
The place and timing was chosen very carefully as the airport comes under the security cover of the Centre and Chandrababu Naidu has told the press after the attack that Jagan has gone to his house and joined the hospital after a phone call from Delhi, which is a blatant lie.
‘I left for Hyderabad after first aid at Vizag airport and went straight to the hospital. The security provided to me is from the state police force which will give him by movement details all the time. When things went wrong and he had no convincing answers he resorted to the unprecedented step of withdrawing the consent to allow CBI to function in the state.
All these are pointers to establish that there was a conspiracy and the TDP leadership has hatched it to eliminate the Leader of Opposition, but with people on my side my resolve to fight for their cause has strengthened further,’ he said in an emotional voice.
Chandrababu Naidu has become known for his double standards, doublespeak and split personality as he has praised the very CBI, to which he has withdrawn consent to operate in AP, when false cases were foisted against me and he worked in tandem with Congress.
When he switched roles, CBI has become a different entity. The same has been the case with Congress as he has used very abusive language against the Party and its leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and now he is all praise for them.
Ex-Telangana CM’s Son Turns A Rebel!
After several young and senior Congress leaders like P Karthik Reddy, Boda Janardhan and P Shankar Rao, it is now the turn of former Telangana chief minister Marri Channa Reddy’s younger son Marri Shashidhar Reddy to turn a rebel for the party.
Shashidhar Reddy, who represented Sanathnagar assembly constituency four times in the past and held several important posts like cabinet minister and vice-chairman of National Disaster Management Authority at the Centre, was denied the party ticket.
Instead, the Sanathnagar seat was allotted to the TDP as part of alliance and it fielded Kuna Venkatesh Goud.
Naturally, Shashidhar Reddy felt insulted.
“How can they deny party ticket to me? I have been struggling to sustain the party in the constituency for the last four years. As the chairman of PCC election commission affairs committee, I have been waging legal battle against the Election Commission exposing irregularities in voters’ list. It is because of me that the Telangana elections got postponed to December. Otherwise, they would have been held by now,” he said.
He alleged that PCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy submitted a report to the high command saying I had no chances of winning.
He declared that he was not going to support the TDP candidate, who is a liquor contractor and a rowdy sheeter.
“I am going to file the nominations as a Congress rebel. I will wait for a couple of days for the high command to respond, failing which I will take my own decision on my future course of action,” Shashidhar Reddy said.
‘My character in ‘Next Enti’ is so much of me’
Milky beauty Tamannaah Bhatia said her character from ‘Next Enti’ movie is so much of her. “My role’s name is also Tammy and it’s very close to me,” added she.
Extending a warm welcome to director Kunal Kohli, Tamannaah said, “People in the country are looking at Telugu cinema as it is changing Indian cinema. I’m very proud to be part of this industry where I learned a lot and it’s a perfect time for Kunal to make his debut in Telugu.”
She added that ‘Next Enti’ is a very new-age love story and she would have been disappointed if this film had gone to any other actress.
Speaking at the very event hero Sundeep Kishan said ‘Next Enti’ is Kunal’s vision and is proud to have worked with a filmmaker like him.
‘Next Enti’ is gearing up for December release.
No insecurity about my career: Vijay Deverakonda
“Taxiwala” is actor Vijay Deverakonda’s third release this year and is probably the most “fun film he has done so far.
He says there’s no insecurity about his career as far as the pace of his work is concerned.
Excerpts from an interview:
Q. Is “Taxiwala” your most fun film to date or am I imagining things?
A. It is Fun with a capital F. I had a ball shooting it. It was hilarious from when I heard it. I was super kicked about performing it. But the best part was, it is different. It isn’t a comedy, the characters aren’t having fun, their suffering is the viewers’ fun. Does that sound sadistic? But it’s true. Is it most fun? I’ll wait for the audience to tell me that.
Q. This is your third release in a year. Do you intend to keep up with this volume of work?
A. I never intended this either. It just happened. The volume of interesting work that is offered, exciting new talents and big names that are keen to collaborate make it hard to say ‘no’. And if this year I have three releases, there may come a year soon when I have none.
If I don’t like any of the scripts, I will say no to all of them.There is no insecurity about my career. But I am cutting down on work from next year, I want to spend more time on each project from start to finish, and enjoy it. I don’t like the pace I am working at currently.
Q. Your rise as one of the top actors in Telugu cinema has been quite spectacular. How has your life changed during the past two years ?
A. I’ve been working so much that I haven’t had time to notice what’s happening around me. Maybe it’s better to not see the change around me. Do I even need to notice that change is another question I ask myself. I enjoy doing my work and living my life at my lazy pace.
Q. “Nota”, your last film mapped the rise of a young literate Indian to political power. The same theme recurs in the Vijay-starrer “Sarkar”? Are we looking at the resurgence of the star politician?
A. Both. Arjun is irresponsible with himself, but is responsible with his girlfriend Preethi and his profession. “Nota” had me as a responsible politician but an irresponsible young adult. That’s how we are all as people. Grey.
Q. What is your take on the way the #MeToo movement has impacted the Indian film industry? Are you more guarded with your co-stars than you used to be?
A. Live and let live.Cause no harm. Mind your own business. Chill and be happy. These are my moral standards, that’s all I’ll hold myself responsible to. Nope, #MeToo hasn’t changed my rapport with my co-actors. I am as chilled out with them as they’re with me.
I don’t know what impact it has had on the industry, but the concept of harassment anywhere makes me pissed from my core.
Q. Your “Arjun Reddy” is being remade in Hindi as “Kabir Singh”. Your take on actor Shahid Kapoor playing your role, and title?
A. I used to trip on Shahid’s “Ishq Vishk” and I struggled for days to get tickets to “Kaminey”. I danced my ass off to “Dhan-tanaa” from “Kaminey” with my friends behind closed doors. So it’s extremely strange when I think of the fact that he is playing the role I did.
I am sure he will have his own interpretation. Other than that, I just wish them the best and will wait to watch it like any other member of the audience.
Q. What should your fans expect from you in “Taxiwala”?
A. Something completely different from everything I’ve done so far, that’s for sure. Laugh out loud. Scream out loud.
Q. Your next release?
“Dear Comrade” with another new director Bharat Kamma .The shooting is on… Trying to hit your hearts and emotions hard with this one.
50-crore home for Ranveer-Deepika
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got married in Italy in both the Sindhi and Konkani traditions. Only close friends and family were invited to the wedding. A grand reception has been planned in Bangalore on November 21 in Bangalore which will be followed by another one in Mumbai.
The couple has reportedly purchased a house in the high-scale Juhu area of Mumbai. The cost of the residence is a whopping Rs 50 crore and interior works and other finishing touches are being made to the place. Once everything is complete, Ranveer and Deepika will move into this place.
This Nandamuri Hero Is A Classic Case
That is in 2002. It is a rage to look at the way he got launched. And for being the grandson of NTR, he got a terrific attention. But things never worked later, and there is no point in debating about nepotism after tracking his journey.
We are talking about NTR’s grandson Tarakaratna who was introduced to the Telugu industry with as many as ‘nine’ films getting launched on the same day. Later films like Okato No1 Kurradu, Yuvaratna, Tarak, Bhadradri Ramudu and others came out in the next 3 years, but none worked for him.
Since 2004, Tarakaratna has featured in a dozen films where he has done leading roles, villain and character artist like roles too which didn’t fare well. After getting married, he took a good break and now he is back to films with his latest movie getting launched other day. He is back to playing hero once again.
Well, Tarakaratna is a classic case of how industry background won’t help to survive until one proves his strength as an actor. They have to stand and deliver to cement their position here. That’s the only rule in the rulebook.
Over Enthusiastic Rajasekhar Hurts Himself
Once you cross your prime age and enter the 50-club, needless to say, actors should not risk themselves by doing daredevil stunts. But by looking at 56-year-old Tom Cruise and his stuns in the latest Mission Impossible series, many Indian heroes want to emulate him.
Even after the stunt director and others told him not to perform his own stunts, senior hero Rajasekhar didn’t pay heed to them. Other day when he is filming for the upcoming film “Kalki”, being directed by Prashant Varma on Awe! Fame, the actor fell flat on his face during an action sequence. That led to bruises and blood on his face.
However, the actor asked the team to ignore his injuries and continued with the schedule as usual by applying makeup on his face and doing the work. That dedication is praiseworthy but in the end what are those injuries for? Had he used a body double, today he would have not got cut himself.
Star heroes like Tom Cruise and Akshay Kumar are fully fit and they are into this stunts from last three decades. That makes them less vulnerable to injuries even though they entered the 50 clubs.
