Congress names 10 more in Telangana 2nd list
Hyderabad: The main opposition Congress in Telangana on Wednesday released its second list of 10 candidates for the state assembly polls on December 7, re-nominating seven candidates who had lost in 2014.
With this, the Congress has so far announced candidates to 75 seats in the 119-member Assembly. The first list of 65 candidates had triggered discontent in the party, with those denied threatening to enter the fray as Independents.
The Congress is heading a four-party alliance calling ‘Mahakutami’ and it has left 24 seats for its three allies — Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Communist Party of India.
According to the second list, Congress spokesman Dasoju Sravan Kumar will contest from Khairatabad constituency in Hyderabad. Former MP Ramesh Rathod, who quit the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) after being denied a ticket, joined the Congress in September and has secured the Khanapur constituency ticket from Adilabad district.
Gandra Venkat Ramna Reddy was given Bhupalapalle ticket, while P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy will contest from Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. Both were defeated in the 2014 elections.
The others renominated from the loser list are Jajala Surendar from Yellareddy, Adluri Laxman Kumar from Dhamapuri, K.K. Mahendar Reddy from Sircilla, K. Laxma Reddy from Medchal and C. Pratap Reddy from Shadnagar.
Kandala Upender Reddy, a prominent contractor, who had been eyeing the ticket since 2009, has been fielded from Palair constituency.
Senior leader and former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, a stronger contender for the ticket from Jangaon, is missing from the second list too. He had earlier expressed surprise over his name not figuring in the first list announced late on Monday.
Lakshmaiah has represented Jangaon assembly constituency for four terms but this time around Congress ally TJS is keen to contest from here.
The seat sharing among the constituents of the Mahakutami was yet to be finalised. The TDP has so far announced nine candidates. TJS and CPI were yet to declare their candidates.
The last date for filing of nomination for the elections to the 119-member assembly is November 19.
The Telangana Assembly was dissolved on September 6 on the recommendation of the state government, almost nine months ahead of the expiry of its term.

Never quit Telugu industry for Bollywood: Ileana
Hyderabad: Actress Ileana D’Cruz, who has made a comeback to the Telugu industry after six years with the forthcoming film “Amar Akbar Anthony”, says she never quit her career in the south to build one in Bollywood.
In a group interaction, she told IANS that it wasn’t a conscious decision to move away from Telugu filmdom.
“People have always had misconceptions about my career. After I signed “Barfi”, I was shocked to read reports that I have quit Telugu cinema for Bollywood. These were baseless allegations and it’s time to put them to rest. Why will I give up an industry which has given me an identity,” Ileana asked.
In 2012, she made her Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor’s “Barfi!”, which was followed by films such as “Phata Poster Nikla Hero”, “Happy Ending”, “Rustom”, “Baadshaho” and “Raid”.
“When I was shooting for ‘Julayi’, I got an offer to work in ‘Barfi!’. It was a project with an interesting story and I didn’t want to miss. I even consulted exploring the opportunity with director Trivikram and he was very happy for me. Even without knowing anything about my role, he pushed me to accept the offer,” she said, adding she got so busy in Bollywood post “Barfi!”, she had to miss out on several Telugu offers.
“It’s just that I was getting really good work in Bollywood that I didn’t have time for Telugu films. Also, after a point I was being approached for dance numbers by Telugu filmmakers and I was not excited about these offers. Therefore, I waited for the right film to return and that’s how ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ happened,” she clarified.
In Sreenu Vaitla directed “Amar Akbar Anthony”, Ileana has teamed up with Ravi Teja for the fourth time.
Talking about the project, she said: “There couldn’t have been a better Telugu film to make a comeback. It has all the ingredients to be your regular commercial potboiler and has a wonderful story. For the first time, I’ve played a complex role with many layers. I’ve also dubbed in my own voice in Telugu.”
Ileana says she wants to do films that will be remembered for a long time.
“I started my career when I was 20 and over the years have done all kinds of films. Now I’m 32, and there is remarkable change in my thought process and personality. I have been making some sensible choices and I want it to reflect in the films I do. I want to be part of films that will be remembered for a long time,” she said.
As the conversation veered towards her personal life and relationship status, she said she’s in a happy space.
“I have evolved as a person and I’m neither pregnant nor married. After coping with depression, I have become mentally strong. My working relationship with people has also changed for good. I know I’m happy with my relationship status and I’d like to keep it that way,” she added.
Asked to comment on the #MeToo movement and how it has gained momentum, she said that it’s time to break the silence.
“I am glad women are opening up even though we know it’s very scary. Small things can make a lot of difference and this is a good start,” she said, refusing to talk about her personal experiences. “It’s best if we don’t go there. When I want to talk about it, I will.”
Allegations Galore Within Jana Sena
Jana Sena which is promising to revolutionise politics seems to be going the way of all other political parties with internal squabbles and ‘commission culture’.
Thota Chandrasekhar who is financially strong and having the experience of having worked for two parties earlier was made General Secretary of the Jana Sena.
Unfortunately, there seems to be no respect for his words as his commands are apparently not being followed by the Party leaders and cadre.
The situation seems to have deteriorated with the entry of Nadendla Manohar into the Party as rumour is that Thota is feeling increasingly marginalized.
And then there are allegations that Party media coordinator Hari Prasad along with other Party men Riaz, Mahender Reddy and Shankar Goud took hefty commissions from a leader of a constituency near Rajahmundry.
A lot of Jana Sainiks especially are reportedly not comfortable with Hari Prasad as Mahaa Murthy (now TV5 Murthy) is a disciple of Hari Prasad and Murthy loses no opportunity in trying to smear the Jana Sainiks.
Hari Prasad is not allowing journalists, access to Pawan Kalyan and scribes from newspapers like Hindustan Times have expressed disappointment at this attitude of Hari Prasad.
There is also no cohesion between Hari Prasad and Chakravarthy and Venu, the other seniors in the media team and the social media team.
Prior to Hari Prasad, it was Marisetty Raghavaiah; the Treasurer of the Jana Sena who was the key person in the Party but Hari Prasad has completely taken over the show.
Praja Rajyam suffered a lot because of such internal squabbles. Pawan Kalyan would be well-advised not to go down the same route again.
Deepika, Ranveer set for ‘band, baaja, baaraat’ in Italy
New Delhi: A six year-long love story will culminate with a wedding on Wednesday when actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tie the knot in a dreamy Lake Como setting in Italy amidst a tight circle of family and friends.
The actors, adored for their on-screen chemistry in movies like “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela” and “Bajirao Mastani”, as much as for their off-screen chemistry, left for the wedding revelry to Italy last week.
There are only about 40 guests for the celebrations, and fans of the couple on social media have been pining to get a glimpse of the pre-wedding galas.
But their appetite is not being satiated not just due to strict security instructions, but because mobile phones are not allowed outside people’s rooms, those in the know of developments told IANS.
They are in Northern Italy’s Lombardy region, an upscale resort area known for its spectacular scenery.
Deepika and Ranveer exchanged rings on Monday evening, and a more ‘desi’ touch to the celebrations came in with the ‘mehendi’ function on Tuesday afternoon, followed by a music-filled ‘sangeet’ the same evening.
For the mehendi, Deepika wore a Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation and the couple was colour co-ordinated. Singer Harshdeep Kaur, along with Sanjoy Das, Bobby Pathak and Firoz Khan performed at the ceremony.
The wedding spans two days of ceremonies. On Wednesday, they will marry according to Konkani customs, while on the following day, they will have a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony.
Deepika, daughter of badminton ace Prakash Padukone, is likely to wear a Sabyasachi ensemble for the Anand Karaj.
Bollywood buffs are curious what the couple will wear, and hashtags to the tune of #DeepVeer and #DeepVeerKiShaadi have been trending on social media.
Poles apart from each other in personality, Deepika and Ranveer’s love story began on the sets of “… Ram-Leela”. Their off-screen camaraderie gave enough hints to their fans, the media and the film fraternity that love was brewing.
But they never confirmed their relationship until recently. They put to rest months of speculation about their nuptials with a social media announcement in October of their wedding dates.
“We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty friendship and togetherness,” they said in the announcement.
Over the years, Deepika has been a bit more reserved than Ranveer in expressing her love openly, but the “Band Baaja Baaraat” actor has been uninhibited.
While they spoke a bit about their likes and dislikes about each other at a summit in the capital in October, it is only on “Koffee With Karan” that Deepika was a little more open about her relationship with Ranveer.
After their very private wedding ceremonies, the couple will have a reception each in Bengaluru and Mumbai on November 21 and 28, respectively.
They have urged their guests to direct gifts in the form of a donation to Deepika’s The Live Love Laugh Foundation, which works towards spreading awareness on mental health.
Twitter Talk: Hero Should Polish Dialogue Delivery
There is no hard and fast rule that a hero should behave and talk in this particular way and that particular formula. Given the fact that our heroes always play that ‘save the world’ kind of characters in commercial cinemas, they, however, need to work out on a few things.
Can we imagine a Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna without that iconic base voice of theirs? No, we cannot. In the same way, we are not able to digest the original voice of Samantha as we got accustomed to listening to Chinmayi’s dubbing for her. And now, let’s see what social media is talking about Bellamkonda Srinivas.
Other day the trailer of his upcoming film Kavacham has come out and as usual, this sturdy hero tried all the commercial aspects. But when he is uttering such heavyweight dialogues with a single-toned and slightly thin voice, somehow it is not looking convincing, say Twitterati. The very first comment that has come out on the trailer is, netizens asked the young hero to polish his dialogue delivery skills.
Well, if we look at the likes of Chiranjeevi and Balayya, they too have some lighter voices in their early films but slowly they developed that iconic base voice the whole of Telugu audiences would die for. Bellamkonda babu, are you listening?
I am like water and I go with the flow: Ravi Teja about flops
Ravi Teja looks so confident about the success of Amar Akbar Anthony and also, at the same time, says that he is least bothered about the success rate. “I am like water and I just go with the flow” he said.
His last two films were disasters at the box office but when asked whether he is afraid that he would bag a hattrick flop, the actor just smiles and says, “I liked the script and I did. There were a few mistakes and I agree. But once things are over, I don’t look back and worry about it. That’s not my nature.”
From the three roles he had played in this film, Ravi Teja says that he liked the role of Amar, personally. He said that the character of Amar has lot of emotions and intensity.
Asked about Laya and Abhirami’s roles in the film, he said, “I will be having two friends in childhood. After they grow, they are Laya and Abhirami. The childhood character of Laya’s character is played by her daughter. It was great to have her on board.”
He also made it clear that Amar Akbar Anthony will have that genuine comedy and mark of Sreenu Vaitla, which his fans have missed in the three previous films. Sreenu Vaitla has called Ravi Teja as a troubleshooter and when asked how does he take it, Ravi Teja said that he takes is as a compliment.
He confirmed that the remake of Theri is completely shelved and that director Santosh has come up with a fresh script. “I am shooting for VI Anand’s directorial project and it is happening at a brisk mode. Once I finish this, I will move to Santosh’s project. Haven’t signed anything else after that. But will let you know,” he added.
Amar Akbar Anthony is releasing on November 16 and going by what the actor has said, we have to see what the audience have to say.
Telugu Hero Wanted For Pregnant Mom And Dad
A girl meets boy or boy meets girl and some situations arise. That is the tried and tested story we see in Telugu films when it comes to romantic comedies. Then we have those films that have a hero and villain. So what is meant by new content then?
In recent times, we have seen Bollywood producing some best content like our very own South films Arjun Reddy and Aruvi. We have it in the form of “Badhaai Ho”, where a hero gets a shocker of his life with his parents announcing that the mother is pregnant and expecting a child soon.
Featuring Ayushman Khurana in the leading role, the film is all about the hero and the society accepting the 50-year-old lady’s pregnancy at a time when their son is about to get married. We hear that a couple of Telugu producers are actually vying for the rights of this film to remake it in Telugu. But which hero is going to play the lead?
The likes of big stars might not do it, but Vijay Devarakonda, Naga Chaitanya and Varun Tej like heroes could easily give a try. Will our heroes agree to become a son to pregnant mom and dad? Let’s see.

Talk: Taxiwala Story Inspired From..
When Agnyaathavasi teaser released, they said it is a rip of Largo Winch and when DevaDasu came they said it is freemake of Analyse This. On both occasions, they have succeeded, and they are none other than the citizens of Twitter.
On social media, especially on Twitter timelines, these days news is getting scrolled faster than on TVs. Cut to our topic, with the trailer of Taxiwala coming out, now the concept of ‘ghost in a car’ is being discussed vividly. Apparently, some netizens feel that the film got its inspiration from a bunch of movies.
Hindi film ‘Tarzan: The Wonder Car’ that released in 2004 looks close to Taxiwala theme, while Nayanthara’s latest movie ‘Dora’ also got the concept of a car possessed by a ghost. But Twitterati is saying that Taxiwala has more of its storyline inspired by 1983 Hollywood film ‘Christine’, whose story is same as the one shown by makers in the trailer of this Vijay Devarakonda’s film.
They say that in Taxiwala, the ghostly car has a past in the form of Malavika Nair, while in Christine there is no such past. And only when Taxiwala releases, we will come to know if it has that Hollywood film’s shades or not.
Is Ileana Better Than Shreya?
Now that Ileana D’cruz is making her re-entry in Tollywood, there are some interesting talks going on. One is that where she is getting compared to hot heroine Shriya Saran. But this is not related to films and glamour.
Though Shriya Saran is not able to bag roles opposite big heroes now, at 36, she is the hottest looking actress than Ileana who celebrated her 31st birthday recently. The topic here is about, the kind of answers these two gave when quizzed about their personal space.
During the promotions of Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu, Shriya stated that she is not going to talk about her marriage and husband, no matter what. And when Ileana is posed with the same question at Amar Akbar Antony promotions, the Goan siren revealed that she is in a happy space with boyfriend Andrew Kneebone. ‘We are not yet married, but I am in a happy space. I can’t talk more about it, and whatever I want to share with fans, already I’ve posted about Andrew on my social media pages’ Ileana added.
That’s a more polite way of talking things, unlike Shriya, who felt that fans need not know about her personal life. That is the reason many cinema lovers are saying Ileana is better than Shriya when it comes to talking certain stuff.
Nani Changed Rules For Jersey!
Even though his film DevaDas didn’t work up to the mark, Nani is a hot favorite of the family audience and they are eagerly waiting for his next. He is coming up with ‘Jersey’ being directed by Gautham Tinnanuri of Malli Rava fame. Here is an interesting snippet about it.
For his recent films, Nani is said to be demanding remuneration basing on the film’s budget. By quoting some percentage, he is said to be taking home 10-15 crores, irrespective of the business and returns. But for his upcoming film ‘Jersey’, the natural star is said to be changing rules.
Rather collecting his remuneration well in advance and troubling the producers, as the film is being made with 30+ crores investment, Nani is said to have asked them to give shares in the business. That way, he could make more money and also the producers will not be burdened to pay more stashes of cash to him in advance.
Nani plays two roles in this movie as per rumors, a young cricket player and a father role, and we hear that visual effects and some sets are costing a bomb for this film. Let’s see how it finally turns out on the silver screen.
KCR Is Losing in Telangana : Chandrababu
In TDP’s internal meeting, party supremo and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has made politically significant remarks. He has told his party leaders that KCR is losing in Telangana and Mahakutami will come to power. Naidu has reasoned that none of the TRS MLA candidates have people’s trust and they hadn’t done anything to people when they were in power. Naidu said it is KCR’s mistake to give tickets to the same old MLAs and he said that KCR would pay a hefty price for this.
Chandrababu said KCR has secret pact with Narendra Modi and KCR is working for Modi. He said people of Telangana have already realized KCR’s secret agreement with Modi. Naidu said that YCP and Janasena in AP and TRS in Telangana are working with Narendra Modi against the sentiments of the Telugu people.
Naidu alleged that YS Jagan had played a crucial role in not increasing the constituencies of the state. He said that Jagan had requested Modi to halt the process and Modi acted accordingly. Chandrababu said that TRS MP Vinod himself confirmed that Modi hasn’t increased seats at the behest of Jagan.
Of all the comments he had made at the party’s internal meeting to fellow TDP leaders, Chandrababu openly stating that KCR is losing Telangana has caught all the attention. Given that Naidu has a lot of political experience and has pulse of public mood apart from his strong sources including various survey reports and intelligence reports, Naidu stating that KCR will lose in the coming elections in Telangana has a great impact, influence.
Rebels Raise Heads In Telangana!
As expected, the announcement of the first list of 65 candidates by the Congress for the Telangana assembly elections triggered unrest in the aspirants who were denied tickets. While some unsuccessful aspirants staged protests, some others quit the party in protest and announced that they would contest as independents.
Senior Congress leader and former MLA Vijaya Rama Rao who was denied party ticket from Station Ghanpur constituency, announced that he would contest as an independent. In Serilingampally constituency, former MLA Bhikshapathi Yadav alleged that the party leaders betrayed him by promising him ticket and denying it now.
Former MLA Narayana Rao from Vikarabad constituency resigned from the Congress party in protest against denial of ticket from neighbouring Tandur constituency, which was allotted to Rohith Reddy.Similarly, another Congress leader Nayini Rajender Reddy, who expected the Congress ticket from Warangal (West) constituency, is also planning to quit the party after he was denied the ticket.
Former minister Suddala Devaiah, who was hopeful to get the Congress ticket from Choppadandi constituency, was denied the same and he said he would announce his future course of action soon.Protests were sldo witnessed at NTR Trust Bhavan, the headquarters of the Telugu Desam Party office, by those who could not get the tickets. The TDP released its first list of 10 names in the early hours of Tuesday.
