There is still months left for the biopic of NTR to go on floors but the casting process is underway. As it is the biopic of Sr NTR, characters of many prominent personalities from films as well as politics should feature in it and finding apt actors for those characters is a burdensome task.

Director Teja and his team has been hunting for months to find the suitable actress to play the role of NTR’s wife, Basavatarakam. Several newcomers as well as established actors including Nithya Menen were considered but none came on board. Some didn’t fit the bill and others turned down the role.

As per the latest reports, top Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has been signed to play Basavatarakam in NTR biopic. Hailing from Kerala, Balan very well knows how legendary a personality NTR was, and hence she latched onto the opportunity when she was offered the chance to play his wife’s character in his biopic. Moreover, she was offered good remuneration and manageable number of call sheets.

From the point of view of makers, Vidya Balan coming on board is one of the best things to happen for the project. She is a well recognized actress across the country and a talent powerhouse too. She can bring authenticity to Basavatarakam’s character because of her looks and also add stardom to the project.

The best thing Vidya can do for NTR is, drawing attention of Bollywood towards the project. This will come handy for makers as NTR is being planned for a release in Hindi too.

Trisha, one of the top South actresses of the last decade, is making a sort of comeback to Tollywood after three long years. Although she appeared in a few dubbed Telugu films in these three years, the last direct Telugu film she did was, Balayya’s “Lion” (2015).

It is now heard that Trisha has signed the multistarrer featuring Nagarjuna and Nani, to play the romantic interest of the former. Several actresses including top Kannada actress Shraddha Srinath were considered before Trisha was locked by the makers. Factors that worked in her favor are her stardom and acting prowess. Moreover, her age and looks make her a convincing pair to Nagarjuna.

Even though the role in offering was relatively small, Trisha accepted the film as she had not been getting many offers from Tollywood, and the Nag-Nani mutistarrer seemed the best among the ones she was offered.

To be bankrolled by Aswini Dutt and directed by Sriram Adittya, the multistarrer will go on floors very soon. Model-turned-actress Malavika Sharma will play the love interest of Nani.

Sources say he has dropped the much-hyped “Lakshmi’s NTR” project. The YSRC Leader who came forward to produce this movie has now backed off. Hence the movie has been scrapped.He is now said to be asking Vijay Devarakonda to allot dates.

RGV is promising him that he would take him to Bollywood but the young star politely declined his offer saying that he has already signed three movies. Recently, Sunny signed a periodical Tamil film in the direction of Vadivudaiyan which is tilted as Veeramadevi. The film will get released in five South Indian languages.
