Case Filed Against Actress Kalpika After Pub Incident

Share

Hyderabad: The Gachibowli police have registered a case against actress Kalpika following an alleged altercation with the staff of a well-known pub in the city. The incident reportedly took place at Prism Pub on May 29.

According to the pub management, Kalpika allegedly misbehaved with the staff, refused to pay the bill, threw plates, body-shamed employees, and used abusive language during the incident. Based on the complaint filed by the pub management, and after obtaining permission from the court, police booked a case against the actress under Sections 324(4), 352, and 351(2) of the BNS Act.

Interestingly, the confrontation between Kalpika and the pub staff was recorded by the actress herself and later uploaded to social media. The video quickly went viral across multiple platforms, drawing widespread public attention and sparking heated discussions online.

Dil Raju Plans Box Office Tracking for Telugu Cinema

Share

In the world of cinema, debates around box office numbers are never-ending. Despite the abundance of portals reporting domestic collections, the authenticity of these figures often remains questionable. In India, and particularly in the Telugu film industry, producers frequently state that only they have access to the actual collection data.

However, the situation overseas is far more transparent. In major markets like the United States — a key overseas territory for Telugu films — established tracking systems like Comscore provide near real-time updates on box office numbers, including location-wise breakdowns. This level of accuracy and transparency is something the Indian industry has long struggled to achieve.

Addressing this issue at the Thammudu trailer launch event, TFDC chairman and producer Dil Raju spoke about the need for a similar system in India. Drawing inspiration from the U.S. model, he revealed that he has proposed the immediate implementation of a box office tracking system in Telangana during a recent Ministerial Sub-Committee meeting with Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka. “We will soon have a proper box office tracking system in place,” Dil Raju stated, signaling a major step forward for industry accountability.

Dil Raju also tackled another growing problem: artificially inflated YouTube views. He emphasized that many teasers and trailers accumulate inorganic views through paid promotions. As a corrective measure, he promised that only organic views would be considered moving forward, starting with the Thammudu trailer that was launched at the event.

The veteran producer, who faced severe trolling in the past over the highly controversial box office figures of Ram Charan’s Game Changer, admitted that some of those numbers were released under external pressure. Now, Dil Raju seems determined to rebuild trust and bring credibility back to both box office reporting and digital viewership metrics.

Thammudu is gearing up for a grand release on July 4th, featuring Nithiin and Sapthami Gowda in lead roles, and marking the comeback of actress Laya. The film is directed by Venu Sriram, known for his previous success Vakeel Saab starring Pawan Kalyan.

One Year of NDA Rule in Andhra Pradesh

Share

Exactly a year ago, Andhra Pradesh witnessed a political turnaround that reshaped its future. On June 4 last year, voters delivered a resounding verdict against former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, reducing YSR Congress Party’s dominance from 151 MLAs to just 11. A week later, on June 12, Chandrababu Naidu took oath as Chief Minister for the fourth time in his illustrious political career.

June 12 now marks the first anniversary of the NDA government’s formation in Andhra Pradesh — a year defined by challenges, course correction, and steady rebuilding. The state was left in severe financial distress due to mismanagement during the previous regime, making the task of revival a steep one.

Despite the enormous challenges, the government has rolled out several impactful welfare schemes, including Pedala Sevalo, Pensions, Anna Canteens, Deepam-2, and Matsyakara Sevalo. The revival of Anna Canteens has been particularly significant, providing thousands of people across the state with affordable meals every day.

Marking the anniversary, the government is also launching the Thalliki Vandhanam program today, which will benefit over 67 lakh women, offering financial support and empowerment to millions of households.

In parallel with welfare programs, key developmental activities have also been actively pursued. Protection of the Vizag Steel Plant, establishment of the Vizag Railway Board, and significant progress on the Polavaram Project with central assistance highlight the administration’s development agenda.

On the governance front, the administration under the NDA has largely maintained stability and efficiency, instilling confidence among the people.

As with any political alliance, occasional online debates and heated discussions between supporters of TDP and JanaSena do surface, particularly on social media. Issues like Nagababu’s MLC appointment sparked considerable public debate. However, the most encouraging aspect has been the growing synergy between the alliance’s key leaders—Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan. Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan, in particular, have developed a strong brotherly bond, which continues to strengthen the alliance.

This unity is expected to be the cornerstone of Andhra Pradesh’s political stability and long-term development in the coming years.

DK Shivakumar Denies RCB Buyout Rumors with Humor

Share

In recent days, social media has been buzzing with speculations suggesting that the current owners of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are considering selling the franchise. Reports even estimated RCB’s valuation at around $2 billion, with several potential buyers reportedly showing interest.

As these rumors gained momentum online, the matter eventually reached Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar. When questioned about whether he had any real interest in acquiring RCB, his response was both amusing and candid.

“I am not a mad man. I’ve been a member of the Karnataka Cricket Association since my younger days, that’s all. I don’t have the time, though I did receive offers to be part of the management. Why do I need RCB? I don’t even drink Royal Challenge,” DK Shivakumar remarked, firmly denying any involvement in the franchise’s potential sale.

His witty comment, particularly the reference to not drinking Royal Challenge (a popular liquor brand), has quickly gone viral, drawing light-hearted reactions across social media. Known for his sense of humor, Shivakumar’s playful dismissal of the rumors has added a comical twist to the ongoing speculation.

Accident on Nikhil Siddharth’s The Indian House Sets

Actor Nikhil Siddharth is currently shooting for his upcoming film The Indian House. The team is filming an important sequence with a sea backdrop in Shamshabad, where a special set has been constructed for the shoot. Unfortunately, an unexpected accident occurred on the set today.

According to reports and a viral video circulating on social media, a water tanker that was specially built for the scene malfunctioned and burst, causing a sudden flood of water on the shooting floor.

As per initial information, the assistant cameraman and a few other crew members sustained injuries during the mishap. It is still unclear whether Nikhil Siddharth was present on the set at the time of the accident. The production team has not yet released any official statement regarding the incident.

The Indian House is set against the backdrop of pre-independence London, narrating a love story that unfolds amidst the political turmoil surrounding the India House. The film is being directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna and produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Tej Narayan Agarwal. Notably, Ram Charan is also involved in the project as part of the production team.

Mangli Clarifies Chevella Party Controversy

Share

Recently, reports surfaced claiming that drugs and foreign liquor were found at a private party hosted by popular singer Mangli in Chevella. The Telangana police’s official X handle also made a statement about the incident. In response, Mangli came forward with her version of events, clarifying key details surrounding the controversy.

In a video statement, Mangli explained that the party was organized to celebrate her birthday at a farmhouse, following a request from her parents. The gathering included her family, close friends, relatives, family friends, and members of her team. She admitted that alcohol was served at the event but expressed regret for not obtaining the required permissions.

“I was not aware that we needed special permission to serve alcohol. Had I known, I would have surely secured the necessary approvals. However, contrary to reports, there was no foreign liquor at the party; only local liquor was present,” Mangli stated. She further added that the police themselves confirmed the absence of drugs at the party.

The controversy intensified after reports indicated that the manager of the farmhouse tested positive for drugs. Clarifying this aspect, Mangli said, “The manager had consumed drugs at a different location and time. The police have verified that neither I nor any of the attendees are connected to his actions.”

The police initially raided the premises due to the lack of permission for alcohol consumption. Unfortunately, rumors and speculations on social media escalated the situation, leading to negative publicity for the singer.

CBI Busts ₹45 Lakh Visa Scam at French Embassy

Share

An Indian national employed at the French Embassy in New Delhi has been implicated in a large-scale visa fraud scheme, primarily targeting individuals from Punjab. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against eight individuals in connection with the scam, which operated between January 2021 and May 2022.

The accused, identified as former Local Law Officer Shubham Shokeen, allegedly exploited his position within the visa department to orchestrate the fraudulent issuance of Schengen visas. Working alongside a network that included family members—his brother Abhishek, father Samunder Singh, and wife Aarti Choudhary—as well as visa agents Balwinder Singh Bartia and Pritpal Singh, and middlemen Jashandeep Singh Sidhu and Bhawan Shokeen, Shokeen reportedly charged applicants up to ₹45 lakh each to expedite visa processing.

According to the CBI, the scam went undetected for months due to the sophisticated laundering of funds through multiple domestic and international bank accounts, coupled with the systematic destruction of visa documents upon issuance. This deliberate effort to erase the paper trail made it challenging to trace the fraudulent activities initially.

During the course of the investigation, the CBI recovered large sums of cash and property documents from various locations in Punjab and Delhi. Notably, the agency discovered that Shokeen had acquired six immovable properties in Dubai valued at approximately AED 7,760,500 (₹15.73 crore), using proceeds from the scam. The agency had earlier issued a Blue Notice to locate him.

In a landmark development, the CBI collaborated with international law enforcement agencies to secure India’s first-ever Interpol Silver Notice, issued on May 23, to trace assets linked to the fraud overseas. This marks a significant step in global cooperation against cross-border financial crimes.

“The CBI’s International Operations Division, in coordination with the International Police Cooperation Unit, played a critical role in publishing the Silver Notice and securing evidence from international partners,” the agency said in a statement.
