Even after the debacle of Brahmotsavam, Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Spyder continues to attract the trade. After the theatrical rights of its Tamil version were sold to Lyca Productions for 25 Crore, the film’s overseas rights (both Telugu and Tamil) are being sold around Rs 15.5 Crore. Atmus and AZ India is digging deep into its pockets to bag the rights. It is learnt that the deal is almost confirmed and paperwork is due.

Earlier, Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam (Telugu alone) was sold for Rs 13.5 Crore (non-returnable) in US. Although the film tanked without a trace incurring hefty losses to its US distributor, this seems to have a least effect on Spyder’s overseas business. Mahesh and ARM’s combo is said to be what attracting the trade. Meanwhile, the Rest of World business of Spyder reportedly fetched nearly 7.5 Crore, making it the second-highest costly film in the US after Baahubali : The Conclusion.

As per the latest tax system in the US, Spyder has to gross over 5 Million USD for the break-even and more than 5 Million USD to get profits. This is a big challenge for Mahesh. So far, Mahesh holds record for having highest number of films of him that crossed 1 Million USD mark and has been considered as Overseas King. But this time, it is not going to be easy for Mahesh.

Actress Kriti Sanon, who was recently bodyshamed by model-turned-actress Bhairavi Goswami, has given an epic reply to the Bong bombshell.

Goswami has recently taken a dig at Kriti by Tweeting, “she (Kriti Sanon) is really behaving like a deranged woman. How did she become an actress. No headlight, no bumper. Even college students look better”.

Kriti, who didn’t  react on Goswami’s comment then, was asked by media to respond during a promotional event of her upcoming Hindi film, “Bareilly Ki Barfi”. And, the ‘Nenokkadine’ actress said, ‘Who’s Bhairavi Goswami?’

When a journo explained to her that she was part of some small films, Kriti said, “I’m just happy for her. She got a lot of publicity. Now you guys know her name also.”

That was a killer response and Goswami got trolled even more after Kriti responded.

Amidst the ongoing intense investigation by the Excise department in the drugs case that has recently rattled Tollywood, the visit of Excise officials to Ramanaidu studios today raised several eye brows.

Reportedly, an Excise department CI along with a team went to Ramanaidu Studios and asked the staff to show them a parcel that came from a foreign country. Suresh Babu, who was present at the studios during the visit of officials, explained them that the parcel contained a medical kit which was ordered by his son Rana for his back pain. The officials however came out of the studio compound only after thoroughly checking the parcel and finding the exact equipment the senior filmmaker informed them about.

There are reports that some rich drug abusers order drugs directly online from Foreign countries and get them delivered at their door step. Hence, the department has started keeping a keen eye on all parcels coming to the city from certain nations, especially after the drug fiasco was unearthed recently. When they found out about a parcel coming to Ramanaidu studios, they immediately landed there.

In the wake of these reports, the sudden verification of officials at Ramanaidu studios attracted the attention of everyone. Jr NTR’s much hyped latest movie “Jai Lava Kusa” is having him play three different roles. In some scenes that are currently being shot, all the three characters including Jai, Lava and Kusa will be present and there will be an exchange of dialogues between them along with some action.

Updates coming from the Visual Effects studios involved in delivering the graphics job for the film are claiming that many shots are said to be taking more time than actually needed. While there are more than two months for the film’s release deadline, VFX studios are wondering if they could deliver the needful on time.

“As there are three characters involved in the movie, in some scenes, there is certain continuity issue. So we have to add the missing elements through computer generated imagery. For other scenes, we need to composite the three different shots featuring each character and just unite them by blocking the layers. Though the work involves routine stuff like rotoscope, wire removal, 3D elements, dust and fire, bullet shots, firings and compositing, lack of technical information or any slight lapse in it, will make the whole of VFX gets messy” a source in the know added.

As some expert VFX technicians are working on the project, however, they are said to have designed a beautiful pipeline where there will be no trouble to handle all the three characters. Directed by KS Ravindra, JLK features Jr NTR, Rashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas in the leads.
