Asking tricky questions and bringing some controversial answers from celebs became a routine task for media folks. Star heroine Rakul Preet Singh, however, won’t fall into this trap.
Promoting her latest movie Jaya Janaki Nayaka, she made interesting comments. Today when media folks asked her if she’s worried about the arrival of actresses like Nivetha Thomas and Sai Pallavi who are better actors, her response is epic.
“I’ve seen Ninnu Kori and congratulated Nivetha. Hearing great reports about Sai Pallavi; will watch Fidaa soon. Here, everyone will have their own space and work. If my film does well, you say I’m golden leg and if a couple of films fail, you make an iron leg. But my work will be work, and I’ll get it, no matter what you write. I’ve no insecurities about the arrival of any new actress” said Rakul Preet.
After returning from London, wrapping a schedule of her next Bollywood movie, Rakul started promoted her August 11th release Jaya Janaki Nayaka.
Silpa Chakrapani Resigns from TDP, Joins YSRC
MLC Silpa Chakrapani resigned from TDP and joins YSRC party. There were speculations from many days about Silpa joining YSRC after his brother Silpa Mohan Reddy left TDP for YSRC. Making them true, SIlpa Chakrapani finally resigned from TDP.
Groups of Bhuma and Silpa have been rivals since years and Silpa supporters opposes Bhuma joining TDP. This rivalry reached next level when Chandrababu gave cabinet seat for Bhuma Akhila Priya after Nagi Reddy’s death. Chakrapani’s brother Silpa mohan Reddy decided to quit TDP, only after he was denied party ticket for Nandyal Bi-election then.
Following his brother, Chakrapani too joined YSRC party and has been staying away from TDP party activities since some time. Silpa Chakrapani sent his resignation to Chandrababu through fax on Wednesday and it is heard that Jagan promised him a prominent position in YSRCP.
Mujra Dances In Famous Hyd Pub, Owner Arrested
A posh pub in Jubilee Hills was raided by West Zone Task Force on Wednesday (August 2, 2017) late evening. Cops have booked its owner along with 11 guys and 7 girls. All were taken into custody. Allegedly, the youths were having a Mujra party in the pub that was against the rules and regulations. Cops have booked cases against the pub owner and youths.
Mujra dances showcase women – semi-naked, naked- dancing for pleasure of men. Towards the end of parties, these women get into the acts wit the men who opt for them. These have been banned by government even in remote places. But many in police department, media were shocked of knowing about Mujra party being conducted in a well-known pub in Jubilee Hills.
A probe has been ordered. Police said to have raided after they got a tip off from few people. More details are yet to be known.
Arvind’s Sweet Warning Worked Well For Fidaa
Undoubtedly “Fidaa” is turning out to be that coolest hit of the year with only content of the film speaking big time rather anything else. Sekhar Kammula’s way of interweaving cutest moments into a story, riveting performance from Sai Pallavi and the staggering presence of Varun Tej made this film a smashing hit.
Trade circles are saying that Allu Arjun’s sweet warning has worked big time and hence the collections are witnessing any downfall. Actually, producer Dil Raju never flaunts too much about collections but for his DJ Duvvada Jaganndaham from day-one, he’s talking numbers only. Much before completion of 1 week, they revealed that the film crossed 100 crores gross. All those revelations led to controversies and people started believing that he’s faking.
It’s heard that Allu Arvind advised him not to talk about collections as that is a wrong way of promoting a film. “Call a blockbuster, don’t promote the numbers. Talk about the positive points of the film, don’t criticise the critics. Promote your heroine in case if her name is bringing you attention, but don’t over promote the hero unnecessarily”, said Arvind to Dil Raju, in a closed-door meeting.
Taking this advice cum sweet warning in his pride, reportedly Raju didn’t speak about Fidaa’s collections anytime and that helped him a lot. People always got excited about the curiosity he’s raising and the film is now inching to 2 million dollars mark in the USA while it’s touching 30 crores share already in 10 days of running altogether.
Young Heroes Running After Kammula Now
The massive success of ‘Fidaa’ has changed the equations for director Sekhar Kammula. Although the director gave many hits, his latest film has become the biggest hit in his career as it is all set to cross more than Rs 35 cr share by end of its total run.
After a series of debacles like “Life Is Beautiful” and “Anamika”, Tollywood’s young stars stayed away from taking Kammula’s calls.
Sekhar Kammula earlier planned a movie with a leading young hero, but he conveniently managed to refuse the film.Once Sekhar Kammula realized that the star was trying to avoid him politely, he approached Dil Raju and ‘Fidaa’ fell into place.

Call Me Pappu Or Uppu, I Don’t Care: Lokesh
Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT and panchayat raj minister Nara Lokesh seems to have taken into his stride the nickname “pappu” given to him by his political rivals and people in the social media.
In an interaction with a popular Telugu television news channel, Lokesh said he would not care what his rivals or social media mongers call him, but would focus on the task given to him by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
“Well, I don’t mind being called pappu or uppu. If pappu can start innovative schemes like Jalavani, installation of 40 lakh LED bulbs and underground drainage system in villages, then I am pappu. If Uppu can do it, then I am uppu. Let the people decide what I am,” Lokesh said.
The TDP general secretary said he was answerable to the people and not to the hatemongers, who sling mud at other in the form of cartoons and caricatures in the social media.“What more can they do? They write two articles and run four programmes and nothing more than that,” he said.
When it was pointed out that even search engine Google shows his picture when people search for the word AP Pappu, Lokesh said he was not bothered about such silly issues.“These social media campaigns don’t demoralise me as I work for the people and am answerable to them,” he said.
Top 10: Tollywood Dominating Overseas Market
Tollywood is showing its complete dominance over Bollywood and Kollywood movies in North American market.This year Telugu films have collected more than a Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan movie in USA.
Prabhas’s “Baahubali 2” was the all-time biggest hit with $20 million gross, while Shah Rukh Khan’s “Raees” collected mere $3.63 million.
Although SRK’s film stood at second position this year among top ten grossers of Indian movies in USA market, rest of the list is completely dominated by our Telugu films and there is no room for a Tamil movie either.
A Varun Tej starrer movie is collecting bigger amount than an Akshay Kumar or Salman Khan’s film.
The Telugu speaking community is dictating the terms today in USA. “Baahubali 2”, “Khaidi No 150”, “Fidaa”, “Gauthamiputra Satakarni”, and “Katamarayudu” are the top grossers of Telugu movies.
From Bollywood “Raees”, “Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya”, “Jolly LLB”, “Tubelight” and “Kaabil” are the other five movies that featured in the top ten list.
Sekhar Kammula directed “Fidaa” is all set to touch 2 million dollars’ mark. In the coming months Mahesh Babu’s “Spyder”, Nithin’s “LIE” and other Telugu movies would further change the equations. So, it would be total dominance of Tollywood.

Rajamouli To Decide Between Mahesh, NTR?
As always Rajamouli is being extra cautious. He does not want to give out any information before it being formally launched.Of late, there has been huge speculation around Rajamouli’s next movie and about who will play the lead in it.
Many top actors have hinted that they are willing to give dates to the director. But it is being said that Rajamouli has given strict instructions to his team to not talk to media about the casting of his next film.Though he is said to have made his choice, he does not want the news to spill before a formal announcement is made.
However, according to reliable sources, his father Vijayendra Prasad is said to have given two terrific storylines to Rajamouli to make a proper script out of it.Rajamouli is still undecided over picking one. Once he makes up his mind, the hero’s name will be announced.
