Telangana Woman in US Women’s Cricket Team
Sindhuja Reddy, a woman cricketer hailing from Telangana, has earned a place in the America’s women’s cricket team.
A release from the Telangana government’s information department has officially confirmed that Sindhuja had been selected as a wicket-keeper-batsman for the National team of US women’s cricket.
Sindhuja has earlier played in the Ranji Trophy for Hyderabad’s women’s team. She has recently become an official US citizen after marrying US-settled Siddha Reddy and moving there. She will represent the US team in the qualifying match of the women’s World Cup, scheduled to be played in Scotland.
The American cricket team has recently earned recognition from the sport’s governing body International Cricket Council (ICC).
Akhil’s Sings Live, Stuns All
Akhil Akkineni rocked the stage on the first day of SIIMA 2017 as he took to stage for his live singing performance. Akhil stunned one and all with his outstanding singing talent. He crooned for a song from his ongoing film being directed by Vikram Kumar while music director Anoop Rubens accompanied Akhil and performed the composition.
It’s not just singing three or four lines of song but Akhil sang full song with utmost sincerity and dedication. He seemed like a professional singer and bowed his head and did Namaskar to the crowd in Abu Dhabi where the SIIMA 2017 is held.
No one expected that Akhil would sing so good. The way it is presented and executed with a couple of dancers grooving to Akhil’s song has come out very well and thus making the program a big hit in the entire event. While Rana Daggubati, cousin of Akhil, was delighted to see him singing, Shriya Saran who is good friend of Nagarjuna and has special bond with Akkineni family was seen cheering, clapping thoroughly with great amusement.
The song was melody and lyrics too were pretty good indicating good expectations on Akhil’s second film (untitled) being directed by Vikram Kumar of Manam fame. Looks like, Akhil is going to have a winner. Let’s wait and see.

Mimicry of CBN, Balayya In Front of Brahmani
This is one of the key highlights of the Day 1 of Vivo SIIMA , the South Indian International Movie Awards 2017, being held in Abu Dhabi in a sheer scale with the presence of who’s who of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam film industries. Comedian Ali who was hosting the show along with Rana Daggubati, Lakshmi Manchu kept the auditorium in splits.
Especially, when Ali was reaching to celebs seated in the front row and asking them about the crazy gossips they have ever heard about themselves, apparently someone in front row pointed at Nara Brahmani and indicated Ali to ask her. Ali’s response was hilarious. He cracked funny banter in CM Chandrababu Naidu’s voice.
Saying that he wouldn’t dare to ask her as Naidu Garu would-be after him once he landed in Hyderabad, Ali said in Naidu’s tone, “Em Chesaru Meeru? Em Annaru Ma Inti Ammayini?”
Ali didn’t stop there. He said it was okay if Naidu garu alone fires. But Ali predicted bigger danger in form of Brahmani’s father Balakrishna Garu who himself is an angry man. Talking in Balakrishna’s voice, Ali said, ” Em Ra… Emannav Ma Ammayini? Edo Annav Antha?”
Ali concluded by saying that he wouldn’t have “next birthday” if he dares to rope in Nara Brahmani in to the topic. However, Brahmani took it in her stride and handled the whole situation with grace while the whole auditorium broke into laughs.
Meanwhile, Nara Brahmani received the South Indian Business Award for Heritage Foods Ltd. Brahmani is the Executive Director of Heritage Foods. Brahmani’s speech was impressive and inspiring.
India will have uniform tax : Arun Jaitley
Speaking during the launch of Good and Services Tax in the Parliament, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that entire country will have uniform taxation system. He stated that the GST was first introduced by the UPA government when President Pranab Mukherjee was Finance Minister based on the report submitted by Vijay Kelkar committee. Based on the representations from the states, the Finance Minister stated that the tax rate on fertilisers was slashed to 5 per cent from 12 per cent and spare parts of tractors to 18 per cent from 28 per cent.
Akhila Priya counter to Silpa Mohan Reddy comments
YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy said that Nandyal seat belongs to the YSRCP as Bhuma Nagi Reddy won as party MLA in 2014. He asked the TDP to leave Nandyal seat to YSRCP. He further said that Bhuma Nagi Reddy’s brother son Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy, who is contesting for Nandyal by-poll on TDP ticket, cannot become the member of a Bhuma Nagi Reddy. But, Akhila Priya said that her father had treated his children and his brother’s children equally.
Silpa Mohan Reddy said that he took up development works like laying roads and construction of drainages in Nandyal. Akhila Priya flayed Silpa comments on development and said that the TDP government had sanctioned Rs 500 crore for Nandyal development when her father was alive.

TaRock Mania: All Trophies Walked To NTR
First, it is IIFA Utsavam and that is followed Zee Awards, Film Fare and Sankharabharanam awards. Now the same feat is repeated at SIIMA awards as well.
Jr NTR has by far delivered his career best performance in movies like Nannaku Prematho and Janata Garage. Brighter side is that these two movies released last year (2016) and did well at Box Office too. For that, he’s adjudged “Best Actor” at all these awards events. Suddenly, KCR puts Cinema Ticket Price Hike On Hold
Following objections from film fraternity, Telangana CM KCR has put on hold his decision to the increase of ticket prices in cinema halls in the state. Government recently issued orders in this regard.
As per the orders, In multiplexes, a ticket would cost Rs 300 for Gold/Royal Class and Rs 200 for Executive/ Regular class as against Rs 250 and Rs 150 respectively. The ticket prices in Greater Hyderabad and other municipal corporations have been increased to Rs 40 for lower class and Rs 120 for higher class in AC theatres, against the existing Rs 75 and Rs 20.
In non-AC theatres ticket price will go to Rs 20 for lower and Rs 60 for higher class. In municipalities, the ticket prices have been increased to Rs 30 for lower class and Rs 80 for higher class in AC theatres against Rs 50 (higher) and Rs 10 (lower) at present.
In nagar panchayats and gram panchayats, the new ticket prices awill Rs 70 for higher class and Rs 20 for lower class in AC theatres against the existing Rs 30 and Rs 10. For non-AC theatres, tickets will cost Rs 50 and Rs 15 against Rs 6 (lower) and Rs 30 (higher) at present.

The first MLA IAS couple of Kerala tied knot in a lowkey wedding ceremony held at a temple in Thuckalay, Kanyakumari.
KS Sabarinath, a Congress MLA, got married to Divya S Iyer, sub- collector of Thiruvananthapuram, in a hush hush ceremony attended only by close ones. Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Oommen Chandy and other leaders including Anto Anthony, KC Joseph also attended the wedding.
The newly weds, who spilled the beans about their relationship in May, are planning a reception party at Girideepam convention hall in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
Sabarinath, an MBA grad, was working with TATA trust before joining politics. Demise of his father, G Karthikeyan, a Congress leader and former speaker, made Sabarinath step into politics.
Divya, a graduate in medicine, cleared IAS in 2013.
