If the speculations doing rounds in the political circles are true, former chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao, who was recently sacked from the post of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation chairman, is likely to be nominated to Rajya Sabha.
According to these speculations, YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is learnt to have promised to send IYR to Rajya Sabha in 2016, when the elections to the Upper House are held.
It is learnt some senior party leaders are strongly lobbying with Jagan for securing Rajya Sabha seat for IYR, since the latter would be of great help in exposing the irregularities in the Chandrababu Naidu regime before elections.
Sources say IYR has gathered a lot of vital evidences against Naidu with regard to land pooling in Amaravati, scam in selecting Singapore consortium through Swiss Challenge method, Agrigold lands issue and even the Visakhapatnam lands issue. If YSRC is able to trap him, it would be a big trouble for Naidu, say sources.
As part of the strategy, YSR Congress party MLA Kona Raghupathi has announced holding of a massive meeting of Brahmins in Guntur shortly in the name of “Brahmana Garjana” and IYR would be a rallying point at the meeting.
Needless to say, the meeting has the blessings of Jagan, say sources.

After super success and unexpected stardom in Bollywood, actor Prabhas is seriously contemplating a career in Hindi market. While the actor has already signed a trilingual film (Telugu, Tamil & Hindi) Sahoo, latest buzz is that Prabhas is in talks with ace director-producer Karan Johar.
Karan is said to be keen on roping in Prabhas for his films or help out Prabhas in his other projects in Hindi. If all goes well, Prabhas is likely to sign a Hindi film sometime soon and it will roll on after his ongoing high-end VFX film Sahoo.
What’s more? A special PR agency in Mumbai has been hired to handle the PR activities of Prabhas in Mumbai and across the country which is expected to give a great push to Prabhas. While many south heroes (barring the likes of Dhanush) – especially Telugu heroes – are not even daring to look upto Hindi, Prabhas setting his eyes on Hindi is certainly a welcome decision.
Earlier the likes of Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna have done Hindi films and did leave their own mark. The moot question is that will Prabhas join the legion? And could he sustain? That is something we need to look forward to. Only time will tell.

“This is not a success meet, we’ve already got one. This is a Thank You meet”, says Allu Arjun, starting his speech at DJ Duvvada Jagannadham ‘Thank You’ meet where he spoke about responsibility and positivity.
“Whether reviews or anything, there is some negativity. Though I don’t welcome negativity, I would like to overshadow that with my positivity. DJ’s success proved that there are good people around in the world. I believe that there will be positive people in the world overall and audiences proved that again” said Allu Arjun, downplaying the negative reviews and criticism on the film.
About Harish Shankar- “No matter how hard we work, it’s only the director who could give us a hit film. More than your words, your film spoke bigger Harish. And your today’s speech is bigger than that”
On collections- “If it is 100 crores collections, then definitely it is not a number. It’s the love and affection audiences showered on the film. It’s the number of audiences who have watched the movie. I would take it that way”
On other side, Allu Arjun appreciated lyric writers for making sure that Telugu literature’s legacy will continue through their writings, while Pooja Hegde’s the USA has made youths go gaga over her. “It’s better to speak wise and less at this point of time. I will celebrate the success in USA with NRI audiences, as the Success Tour starts there”, he concluded.

The historic first meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (IST) in the United States has witnessed several special moments. While this is Modi’s fifth visit to the US, this is the first-time he has gone to the US after Trump took over the reigns as President. The ‘True friends’ Modi and Trump were in their elements. Trump shown special interest in Modi’s visit and took him on guiding tour inside White House’s residence quarters including Lincoln Bedroom.
President Trump declared that ties between Washington and New Delhi had “never been stronger”, “never been better” while Modi described US as its “primary partner” for India’s social and economic transformation in all our flagship programs and schemes.
After an hour-long meeting of the delegates of the two countries, Trump and Modi have issued a joint statement to media at the Rose Garden of the White House.
Highlights
Trump on Trade : I look forward to working with you, Mr. Prime Minister, to create jobs in our countries, to grow our economies, and to create a trading relationship that is fair and reciprocal. It is important that barriers be removed to the export of U.S. goods into your markets, and that we reduce our trade deficit with your country.
I was pleased to learn about an Indian Airlines recent order of 100 new American planes, one of the largest orders of its kind, which will support thousands and thousands of American jobs. We’re also looking forward to exporting more American energy to India as your economy grows, including major long-term contracts to purchase American natural gas, which are right now being negotiated, and we will sign them. Trying to get the price up a little bit.
Trump on Terror : Both our nations have been struck by the evils of terrorism, and we are both determined to destroy terrorist organizations and the radical ideology that drives them. We will destroy radical Islamic terrorism. Our militaries are working every day to enhance cooperation between our military forces. And next month, they will join together with the Japanese navy to take place in the largest maritime exercise ever conducted in the vast Indian Ocean.
Modi on Terror: Today, during our meeting, we discussed the serious challenges of terrorism, extremism, and radicalization, which are the major challenges facing the world today. And we have agreed to enhance our cooperation in fighting against these scourges. Fighting terrorism and doing away with the safe shelters, sanctuaries, and safe havens will be an important part of our cooperation.
With respect to our common concerns on terrorism, we will also enhance our sharing of intelligence, and exchange information to deepen and expand our policy coordination as far as possible.
The increasing instability, due to terrorism, in Afghanistan is one of our common concerns. Both India and America have played an important role in rebuilding Afghanistan and ensuring its security. In order to attain our objectives for peace and stability in Afghanistan, we will maintain close consultation and communication with the U.S. to enhance coordination between our two nations.
Modi on Trade : In this relationship, in both countries, increased productivity, growth, job creation, and breakthrough technologies – an engagement towards all these are, and will remain, strong drivers of our cooperation, and will give further momentum to our relationship.
We consider the USA as our primary partner for India’s social and economic transformation in all our flagship programs and schemes. I am sure that the convergence between my vision for a “new India and President Trump’s vision for “making America great again” will add new dimensions to our cooperation.
I am very clear about the fact that India’s interests lie in a strong, and prosperous, and successful America. In the same way, India’s development and its growing role at the international level are in the USA’s interest. One of our common priorities will be the development of trade, commerce, and investment links. And in this regard, in the technology, innovation, and knowledge-economy sectors, the expansion and deepening of cooperation is also among our priorities. Towards this end, we shall take steps to further strengthen our successful digital partnership.
On parting note, Narendra Modi invited Donald Trump and his family to visit India.

Director Harish Shankar is the most criticised when it comes “DJ Duvvada Jagannadham”. While many took on his story writing abilities, some gave a blast about his punch dialogues as things that serve no purpose. As the film is underway to become a 100 crore grosser, the director took it to Thank You meet as an occasion to share his gyaan to movie lovers.
“Rather taking a dig at my story and screenplay, some went personal and wrote that I got eyes moved over to my head. It’s my eyes, my wish, who are you to ask? Criticise my film, not me. People say I’ve got attitude post Gabbar Singh success, but only because of my attitude Gabbar Singh has come out” avers Harish, making himself a tough shell against criticism.
Explaining about what’s inside the movie and how various people understood it, Harish said, “A guy from the USA called me to appreciate emotional dialogues like ‘Technology perigitehy dooram taggali kaani, perugutondi entra’. And a guy from Eluru told that he liked ‘Pagilipoyela vayinche DJ’. I’ve to write dialogues for both Eluru and USA guys. If you could see only punch dialogues and miss out other message oriented ones, that’s not my fault”. He compared himself to a super bazaar to elaborate this further.
“At a Super Bazaar, some people come to pick Eggs and some buy Fruits. And it’s Super Bazar guy’s duty to sell both fruits and eggs. Now the one’s who picked eggs should not make fun of fruits and the one who buys fruits should not say that the owner should not sell eggs. Look at films from entertainment angle only, they are meant for that. India being a democratic country, you can criticise the story but not individuals”, he says, warning the so-called super bazaar customers.
“No matter if people or critics will pay heed to my words or not, but I will continue giving messages. Those who love my mass dialogues, please recognise my message oriented dialogues too”, concluded Harish Shankar, boasting DJ’s success as a non-Baahubali record.

Clearing a range of rumors from sports enthusiasts who’re spreading out that Sri Lankan former captain and right handed batsman Mahela Jayawardene will be head coach for team India, the retired cricketer directly took to Twitter and said that he’s ‘flattered’ with that speculation but not yet ready to take up full time job.
Ever since the former coach Anil Kumble stepped down on June 20th, several big names emerged about his successor – including former Indian opening batsman Virendra Sehwag, Tom Moody, Mahela and others. But, Jayawardene himself took to Twitter and said that his complete focus is on current commitments.
Currently, the former Sri Lankan batsman is acting as head coach for IPL’s Mumbai Indians (MI) team and Bangladesh Premier League’s Khulna Titans (KT). ‘Flattered by speculation linking me to India coaching job but I am not looking at full-time positions right now. I am completely focused on current commitments with MI and Khulna.’ – tweeted Mahela in a couple of tweets.
Now that the disturbed equation between skipper Virat Kohli and coach Anil Kumble is out, BCCI is on hunt for a smart coach who lead team more efficiently and with out any untenability.
