‘IYR Bought 1000s of crs of Land in Donakonda’
The Telugu Desam Party has upped the ante against the sacked Brahmin Welfare Corporation chairman and the former Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao. Narasaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao has leveled serious allegations against Krishna Rao. He alleged that Krishna Rao had even opposed the setting up of capital region in Guntur’s Amaravati as he has bought land worth 1000s of Crores in Donakonda of Prakasam district.
Rayapati had claimed that Krishna Rao had written a letter to Union Home Ministry to set up capital in Donakonda of Prakasam district. Rayapati said that he had then complained the matter to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu.
Krishna Rao was recently sacked from the post of Brahmin Welfare Corporation chairman after he reportedly criticised the TDP government on social media platforms. The state government has taken the issue seriously as he had made those remarks when he was in the official post nominated by the same government.
Belonging to the 1979 batch of Indian Administrative Service, Krishna Rao retired as the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh State. Even though he was retired, the state government nominated him with a post and hence Naidu is said to be upset with Krishna Rao’s behaviour and ingratitude.
This apart, what has made Naidu more angry is Krishna Rao’s closeness with YSR Congress party leaders, MLAs with whom he is meeting often and talking their language against the state govt. These said to had resulted in the axing of IYR.
Meanwhile, IYR is yet to revert to the allegations made by Rayapati.
Telangana Bans Cell Phones In Schools
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister K Srihari warned of stringent action against teachers and officials who carry cell phones in government schools in the state.
The minister said several complaints were received that teachers were using smart phones in class rooms during school hours and created nuisance in teaching the students. This growing menace also impacted the results in the public exams, he observed.
Srihari said his department also received complaints that teachers were neglecting their duties in many government schools. As a result, drop out rates also increased in the recent times. Government is framing strict rules to run the schools without any hassles in the future.
Trump Softens Stand on High-Skilled Immigrants
Days after the Trump-led administration approved harsher vetting process for work visas to United States, the tech advisory council of the nation sat up with him to discuss on various agendas including work visas, climate change and immigration.
Led by Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior advisor and son-in-law, the meeting was attended by 18 chief executives at White House. While discussing on how to ensure that work visas are approved to highly skilled and highest-paid workers, as decided earlier, President Donald Trump responded very positively saying and agreed to fact that immigration issues are adversely affecting the staffing in tech companies.
Among the 18 CEOs who were present at the meeting -Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Ajay Banga of MasterCard and Shantanu Narayen of Adobe Systems were Indians. Others include- Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Tim Cook (Apple), Ginni Rometty(IBM) and Brian Krzanich (Intel).
On other hand, Trump cracked a funny joke at tech bosses’ saying – ‘we have USD3.5 million market value in this room, and since my election, wealth created though stock market boom is almost same. And I think we have beaten you by a little bit.’
Kajal Says, Only for NTR!
Kajal Aggarwal, who is very excited about her upcoming Telugu film ‘Nene Raju Nene Manthri’, has divulged some very special things about NTR.
Kajal has proved to the lucky mascot of NTR. After pairing with him in three money spinners – Brindavanam, Baadshah and Temper, Kajal did an item song, her first and the only till date, in NTR’s “Janatha Garage”.
Kajal revealed that she was offered several item songs both before and after “Janatha Garage” but she wasn’t interested in any one of them despite having been offered whopping remunerations. She further said it was only because of her good relation with NTR that she she sizzled in ‘Pakka Local’ song.
After a brief dry period, Kajal is back in the reckoning with star-studded films. This year she was seen opposite Megastar in Khaidi No.150. She next has Rana’s Nene Raju Nene Manthri, Ajith’s Vivegam and Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ in pipeline.
Police Seized Rs 5 Cr Old Notes Of Star Couple?
Celebrity couple Jeevitha-Rajasekhar have come under the radar of Task Force Police after a close aide of theirs was arrested trafficking old currency notes that were banned a few months ago.
As per media reports, Task Force police have caught a man named Srinivas Rao red-handed while he was illegally transporting Rs 5 crore, the entire sum in banned Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes. He is a close aide and relative of Jeevitha-Rajasekhar. He has been taken into custody and the inquiry is being carried out.
Task Force has been high alert ever since RBI has recently provided one month time for the exchange of old currency in selected Post Offices and District Corporation Banks. Upon information that Srinivasa Rao was trafficking Rs 5 crore, Task Force police raided his properties and seized the said amount in old currency notes. Reportedly, Rao was arrested in the past in illegal drug trafficking case.
It is widely reported that Rao was just a carrier and the money originally belonged to the star couple. We can’t ascertain these reports as police is also yet to link a connection between the accused and celeb couple.
Meanwhile, the celeb couple hoarding Rs 5 crore in old currency has come as a huge shocker since it is widely believed that they are in neck-deep debts. Why wouldn’t they clear their debts if they had such huge money stashed in? We probably need to wait until the official police report.
Police Turned Jagan’s ‘Save Vizag’ Into A Flop Show!
‘Save Vizag’, a day long dharna staged by YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Visakhapatnam against the alleged encroachment of government lands by ruling TDP leaders, turned to be a flop show, owing to the successful containment of it by city police.
As a preemptive measure, police took some YSR Congress leaders into preventive custody when they tried to enter Vizag along with their followers. Police also clamped restrictions in and around Vizag city in their bid to contain the influx of YCP supporters. Jagan had expected a turnout of 10,000 party workers but only less than 5000 people turned up at the dharna site till the afternoon.
Since morning, police succeeded in controlling the mob at the dharna where Jagan sat on deeksha demanding the state govt. to take back the govt. lands allegedly encroached by TDP leaders. At one stage, tension prevailed as police and party workers clashed with each other.
On the other hand, the TDP leaders reiterated that the government had already ordered a probe into land scam and that people are not ready to get carried away by Jagan’s false propaganda.
Will NTR Accept Mahanati’s Request?
Makers of ‘Mahanati’ were a bit skeptical earlier about whether audience of this generation shows interest in their film, a biopic on yesteryear actress Savitri, or not.
However, the curiosity shown on social media over the film’s cast, their roles and leaked stills has boosted the makers’ morale and now efforts are being made to further strengthen the film’s box office prospects.
Since the life of Savitri in inextricably linked to legends NTR and ANR, makers are contemplating on roping in the heirs of Nandamuri and Akkineni families to reprise their respective grandfathers’ roles. NTR Jr may not have any apprehensions about playing his grandfather on silver screen but the question is, will he accept a 2 minute cameo?
Besides the cameo, the major hinder for NTR to associate with Mahanati may be Ashwini Dutt (his daughter is producing the film and his son-in-law is directing). NTR hasn’t had a fruitful association with Dutt. When he teamed up with Vyjayanthi Movies in the past, ‘Kantri’ and ‘Shakthi’ happened.
Ashwiin Dutt however is striving to convince NTR to play the cameo in Mahanati. It needs to be seen what the ‘Janatha Garage’ actor does.
