Move over from Filmfare South. A glittering International Awards ceremony exclusively for south films is bracing up. It’s South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA). SIIMA is getting bigger with each passing year. And the latest we hear is that SIIMA 2017 is going to see two of the biggest Bollywood stars.

The former love birds from B-town Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor are likely to sizzle at the SIIMA 2017. A highly-reliable sources in the Bombay have confirmed the development and said the Jagga Jasoos cast would be part of the grand gala do. It’s buzzed that Katrina and Ranbir are going to be the cynosure of all eyes. Being held in Abu Dhabi on June 30 and July 1st in a never-seen-before manner, who’s who of the South film fraternity is expected to arrive.

Ever since a curtain-raiser event was held in Abu Dhabi that saw the attendance of the likes of Rana Daggubati, Shriya Saran, Jayam Ravi , SIIMA chairperson Brinda Prasad and others, all the South film industries are eagerly looking forward to this prestigious award ceremony.

This is the sixth edition of SIIMA while the previous five editions held in several parts of the world were great success. Buoyed with the success spree, the team has introduced a new segment for short films and the awards will be given in 8 categories for all South Indian languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. Vivo is the title sponsor for SIIMA 2017 and it’s called Vivo SIIMA 2017.

During the times of Awards shows, the organisers and their PR agents generally try to stay in touch with many stars and starlets in order to facilitate their arrival, seating and exit. Other day one of the popular and half-century old Filmfare Awards have conducted their annual awards event here in Hyderabad to award Black Lady to all the winners in the South. And that show showed what our heroes actually thinking off.

Film enthusiasts and many cinema fans have attended this event, buying tickets and fetching them through other means, only to catch a glimpse of their favourite heroes and heroines. But what shocked Telugu fans is that only two superstars, Jr NTR and Allu Arjun have graced the event. When these two received Best Actor and Best Actor (Critics) trophies, NTR for Nannaku Prematho and Bunny for Sarrainodu, fans understood the logic. Those heroes who have bagged the awards made their presence felt, while others sent a message on WhatsApp.

Well, PR teams working for the awards are shocked to see almost all the Telugu heroes copy-pasting the same message. “Busy with shooting !! xoxo!!” is what many Telugu heroes have sent through the messaging app when requested to attend the evening. Star heroes like Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Raviteja, Nani, Naga Chaitanya, Sharwanand, Akhil, Nara Rohit, Naga Shourya and many others have just bunked the show, though the fact is that many are in Hyderabad while few are shooting at far away locations.

Earlier a hacker tweeted from Mahesh Babu’s Twitter account, “Awards are given to those who will attend the event”, and the tweet was later deleted. But it seems like the inverse of it is true, “Heroes go to awards function only if an award is given to them”. At a time when almost all the day’s shooting gets over by 6 pm every day, what’s there to attend an event scheduled at 9 pm? Heroes deserting award shows if they didn’t grab one, isn’t this a bad trend? Yes, it is.

It’s common for star heroes, producers and directors to possess huge crores of properties. But in what could be a first of its kind, top comedian Brahmanandam’s properties are hitting the headlines. According to some media reports, the ‘King of Comedy’ Brahmi has assets worth Rs 320 Crore. Brahmi, who has acted in more than 1000 films, apparently charge a bomb as his fee. His long list of filmography propelled him to riches of hundreds of crores, say a report on Catch News. Ever since the report is out, the news has become a hot topic in film circuits.

The report listed Brahmi’s movable and immovable properties. As per the report, Brahmanandam has Audi R8, Audi Q7, and Mercedes-Benz (Black), other than this he is also the owner of agriculture land worth crores. Besides this, Brahmanandam owns a big bungalow in posh area Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.

Brahmi started small but grown big in less span of time. Thanks to actor Chiranjeevi who recognised the talent within him and recommended him to director Jandhyala.

Brahmi made his acting debut in 1986 film “Chantabbai” directed by Jandhyala and there’s no looking back for him since then. Brahmi holds the Guinness World Record for acting in a record number of films. He has acted in more than 1000 films to his credit in a career spanning over 31 years. He is the recipient of one of prestigious award of the country Padma Shri which is fourth-highest civilian award. He received several awards and titles. However, his career is now on a downward spiral as most of the film he acted have failed at the Box Office of late.

Actor Nani is one of the few stars in Tollywood who has great sense of picking up good scripts. Right from “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy”, he has been delivering hits consistently. His choice of movies is very interesting.

The latest theatrical trailer of his upcoming release “Ninnu Kori” has also hit off well with Telugu audiences. Naturally it has already crossed two million views.

But the theatrical trailer gives us impression that the movie is a rip-off of Salman Khan’s “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.

Although Nani talks about “Hum Aapke Hai Kaun” in this trailer, the story seems to be copy of Salman and Aishwarya Rai’s old hit Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.

In “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai fell in love but his father is against their romance. Aishwarya Rai gets married to Ajay Devgan.

Then the story shifts to Italy with Ajay Devgan trying to search for Salman to unite him with Aishwarya.

The trailer of “Ninnu Kori” has similar template – Nani (Salman) loves Niveda (Aishwarya) but her father (Murali) doesn’t accept their love. This is flashback.

In USA, now the story revolves around Nani, Niveda and Aadi (Niveda’s Husband?).

We would be happy to be proved wrong but the trailer gives such impression. Let’s wait for 7th July to find out the actual story.

Bollywod media is abuzz that this 30-year-old hottie is in love with Abhimanyu Dassani, the son of veteran actress Bhagyashree of ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ (Prema Pavuralu in Telugu) fame. Sonal and Dassani have been making quite a many public appearances lately.

Sonal is so in love with the youngster that she is neglecting her career as well, say media reports. Interestingly, Abhimanyu is about 4-5 years younger to the 30-year-old Sonal. This age difference however hasn’t stopped the duo from indulging in a relationship.

Since ‘Tubelight’ is the next biggie of Indian cinema to hit screens in the post-Baahubali 2 era, there have been discussions among fans and trade people over whether the Box office king can break the records created by the Mahishmati King?

When asked if Tubelight can break Baahubali 2’s phenomenal records, Salman said with a straight face that he doesn’t think so. Dubbing Baahubali 2 as the most freakish films that has ever been made, the ‘Sultan’ star credited Hindi audiences for making the Telugu film a global blockbuster.

Salman added that he was not aiming to break Baahubali 2 records with Tubelight and that his sole concern is no one involved in his film’s business loses money.

The actor has cleverly tried to avert the inevitable comparison of his film with Baahubali 2 as he knew very well that overpowering the Telugu juggernaut wouldn’t be possible unless he also comes up with a never before seen kind of film.

Of course Dangal beat Baahubali  2 but it is largely because of the unprecedented reception for the wrestling drama in China. Even Aamir may not be able to repeat similar magic in China with his subsequent films.

A Telugu adage says, “If the guy serving food is ours, then he will surely give two extra sweets”, and that applies to Film Industry is all sizes and shapes. And one such guy is senior writer and actor Tanikella Bharani who shows unconditional on some people he likes very much.

Industry folks say that whenever Tanikella is visiting some places outside Hyderabad city, he has this habit of observing keenly about films. He will call up the producers to tell a film’s public talk, and sometimes he calls the directors to say that the posters of their recent releases are not pasted properly in some regions. With Tanikella’s feedback, even the directors and producers get into an alert mode to make sure that his suggestions and feedback are followed.

Recently this extra-care stuff for posters happened with both Ami Tumi and also DJ Duvvada Jagannadham. After giving advise to Ami Tumi team to increase their presence through posters, Tanikella called up Harish to tell the same, says a source. Guess what, there is a connection between Tanikella, Harish Shankar and Indraganti, find it out, not a rocket science we say!!

Insiders however say, it’s always good and required to have people like Tanikella Bharani who care for their club whether they have any work-related connections or not.
