Hero Demands 70% of Film’s Profit!!
Profit sharing deals are predominantly used by Bollywood star heroes like Khans, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar. Generally, these heroes demand 20-30 percent of the film’s profit and producers happily agree since a star’s image guarantee them minimum profits.
Aamir Khan however has now hit headlines by striking a deal of pocketing 70 percent of the profits of his new film, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’. After the mammoth success of ‘Dangal’ in India and China, no filmmaker is in a position to bargain with the Ace Khan, not even Yash Raj Films’ honcho Aditya Kapoor, who is bankrolling ‘Thugs of Hindostan’.
Coming to ‘Dangal’, Aamir charged 35 crore remuneration and also pocketed 33 percent of profit. Now, to leverage his newly found stardom in China, Aamir has reportedly put forth a condition that he would do his next films only for the producers who are willing to offer him 70 percent share in profit. Even with a 30 percent stake, a producer can earn to the tune of 300 crore, if Aamir’s next film performs on par with Dangal.
Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh, Thugs of Hindostan will be mounted on a huge canvas.
Attack on London bridge; 6 killed & 30 injured
The famous London bridge is back in news for another tragic attack last night, which killed six people including attackers.
Around 22:00 BST (British Standard Time), a white van ran onto at least 30 people on the bridge and three men who got out of it started to assail people with knife. Alerted with what was going on, immediately, the armed forces have gunned down all three shooters.
According to London city Metro Police, ‘At 0025 hours 04/06/17 the incidents at #LondonBridge & #BoroughMarket were as terrorist incidents.’ UK Prime Minister Theresa May, London Mayor Sadiq Khan and others have strongly condemned it as a ‘cowardly’ attack & called it ‘horrific’. The London ambulance service has descibed it as ‘major’ incident and on other hand, PM May has called up for a meeting with govt’s Cobra emergency committee.
This weekend incident happened at the Borough Market where restaurants, hotels and bars are high in number. Besides alerting the medical team and sending the victims to hospital, the London police were quick to launch an investigation into finding the identity of assailants. However, no terror group have so far come forward and claimed responsibility for this awful attack.
Mass Rumour: Pawan Kalyan Gave The Nod
Pawan Kalyan is working right now on Trivikram’s new movie and that’s the only movie he’s concerned about at the moment. There are several other commitments and possibilities when it comes to his next, but frankly, there is no confirmation about any of them.
Apparently various films like the one to be produced by Dasari Narayana Rao, a word given to AM Rathnam about a movie and a film that got its muhurat already held which is to be directed by RT Neason have never taken off. Latest rumour is that Pawan Kalyan is impressed by a new story narrated by none other than mass director VV Vinayak.
From a long time, director Vinayak is having this dream of making a 100 crore budgeted movie either with Pawan Kalyan or Mahesh Babu. Probably after the success of Khaidi No 150 at the box office, it looks like he has succeeded in not just churning out one such story but also convincing Pawan Kalyan as well.
People close to Pawan Kalyan, however, termed this as a mere rumour as the actor is currently unavailable to anyone for a story narration. In fact, he’s said to be spending time in Bangalore, shedding some kilos he has put on during Katamarayudu times.
Oh No! Balayya In & As Theda Singh?
Here comes a news that can make fans of Balakrishna Nandamuri jump in joy and also feel shocked at the same time.
As per latest reports, three titles – Jai Balayya, Ustaad and Theda Singh have been registered under Bhavya Creations, the production house that is bankrolling #NBK101, an explosive project in the combo of Balayya and Puri. One of these three titles will be finalized.
Of the three, ‘Jai Balayy’a has least scope for making it. Coming to ‘Ustaad’, it is a super apt title that can justify the image and stardom of Balayya. The title is also in sync with Balayya’s character in the film, a gangster. It looks powerful and has that instant connecting factor that a mass film needs.
Coming to ‘Theda Singh’, it may not be liked by fans considering that several cheap meanings can be derived from the word ‘Theda’. The title nonetheless has the attention grabbing aspect and it can be used for a a comedy film, not for a powerful project like #NBK101. Puri might have come up with this title since Balayya is playing a ‘Theda’ (a very different kind of) gangster in the film. This title may justify the hero’s characterization but it doesn’t sound good.
We hope Puri considers all the possibilities and takes fans’ sentiments as well into account before making a final call. It may be noted that an interesting title ‘Mama Ek Peg Lagao’, is also making rounds as a potential title of #NBK101.
