Kohli Fumes at Match Official After Historical Loss

Team India captain Virat Kohli, who generally indulges in verbal spats with opposition players on field, gave an earful to an IPL match official on Sunday.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper couldn’t control his emotions after getting out for a “golden duck” against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an IPL encounter. Walking back to the RCB dug out, he continuously hit the bat onto his legs and was visibly irate. He immediately summoned a match official and argued with him over something.

During the post-match presentation, Kohli revealed the reason behind his frustration. He complained that the sight screen was very small. “One guy got up as the bowler was charging towards me. It distracted me and that’s the reason I got out,’ he divulged.

After bowling out KKR for a mere 131, the RCB players might not have imagined that they would get all out for 49, the lowest score ever in the history of IPL. Besides expressing his displeasure over the way he got out, Kohli also confessed that his players put up “disgraceful” performance to get bundled out for the lowest score ever.

Theatre Managers Became Demi-Gods

Share

unknown

You may call Megastar Chiranjeevi and the likes as demi-gods, but that is on the silver screen. Now for the next couple of weeks, it’s theatre managers who are have become demi-gods for many Telugu audiences. And here’s why.

The moment Baahubali: The Conclusion tickets are opened online, immediately all the bookings are getting over. It is not even taking minutes for the shows to get sold out. A known fact is that every single screen or multiplex holds some 40% tickets to be sold at counters and half of these tickets will be allotted basing on recommendations.

Now that Baahubali 2 is coming, managers of some noted theatres in Hyderabad are every day getting up to a horde of phone calls from offices of ministers, MLAs and even IPS officers, say reports.  At the same time, some big businessmen, some film personalities are all exerting pressure on these managers to give them tickets.

No doubt, for the next couple of weeks all these managers will be more than a Minister or an MLA who could favour for the people calling them up. In a sense, they became demi-gods. Should we attribute this to the power of cinema?

Sometimes the over-enthusiasm of fans pushes their favorite celebs into panic situations and one such scene was recently witnessed by hot Bollywood actress Esha Gupta.

Esha has recently taken part in a fashion programme in Dubai. When the actress was going to washroom, a male fan reportedly followed her on the pretext of taking a selfie with her. Although she tried to convince him that the time and place were inappropriate, he entered the ladies’ washroom right behind her.

The ‘Raaz 3’ actress was so terrified that she had to call the security to get the male fan out of the washroom. She however didn’t press any charges against him as he pleaded her that he came inside only for a selfie and that he had no malicious intentions.

Former Heroine Upset On How Heroines Are Seen

Share

sonali

Sonali Bendre, who is quite familiar to Telugu audiences with films such Manmadhudu, Indra, was recently in Hyderabad to deliver a talk at the FICCI ladies of Hyderabad. Reminiscing her association with Telugu language and Telugu people and Tollywood, Sonali said she learnt ‘enough’ Telugu to utter the lines on her screen. She, however, said that Telugu people are sweet, polite and gentle.

Speaking at the conference, Sonali Bendre, who wears many hats in life as mother, author, reader and former actress, said how she keep the ‘author’ in her separate from the ‘actress’ in her. “I always had issues with how actresses are seen, you know like they are just these pretty faces who move their hips well. There were never any attempts to understand us beyond that. So I wanted to keep that away from this side of me -the writer side, which was very important to me. The actress persona, or the ‘glamour’ as they call it, is a very different side to me. I am glad I had my looks but that’s not all that I am,” said Sonali.

She also revealed her humble background. Recalling her childhood, Sonali shared where she started,”The first plane ride I took was for a shoot. My father was in a government job and we would move to a new city in every two years. I did make new friends but books were my constant companion. So my worldview has been shaped by the books I read.”

On parting note, the Manmadhudu actress says that her biggest dream for the longest time is to ‘own a library’. This is certainly the other side of Sonali.
