Akkineni Naga Chaitanya is with out a proper hit for a long time. The actor’s last film, Dohchay is a miserable flop. The actor currently has two films – Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo and Premam lined up for release very soon. Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo is being postponed several times for various reasons.

But now the makers are planning to release the film in August itself. The exact date will be announced very soon. On the other side, his other film, Premam is also nearing completion. Currently, the team is canning couple of songs in Norway and the entire shoot will be completed with this schedule.

Premam is being planned for September 9th release. So Naga Chaitanya will have two releases in less than two months time much to the delight of Akkineni fans. Naga Chaitanya had to bag two hits with these two films so that he will be established well before Akhil Akkineni, the competitor in his own family gets one.

Republican Party formally nominates Donald Trump for President

The Republican Party formally nominated Donald Trump for President of the United States on Tuesday, capping a roller-coaster campaign that saw the billionaire tycoon defeat 16 White House rivals.”It’s my honour to be able to throw Donald Trump over the top in the delegation count tonight,” the candidate’s son, Donald Trump Jr., told delegates at the Republican National Convention.

Mr. Trump — who was expected to address the gathering in Cleveland by video link later Tuesday evening — welcomed the party’s nomination as an “honour.””Such a great honour to be the Republican Nominee for President of the United States. I will work hard and never let you down! AMERICA FIRST!” he tweeted.

The real estate mogul is expected to formally accept the nomination in a speech to the convention on Thursday, before facing off against Democrat Hillary Clinton in the November election. The delegation of Mr. Trump’s home state of New York cast the deciding votes which put him over the threshold of 1,237, the majority-plus-one of delegates to the convention in Cleveland, Ohio.”It’s unbelievable. It’s surreal. I’m so proud of my father,” his eldest daughter and businesswoman Ivanka Trump, often described as his secret weapon, told CNN on the convention floor.

“He’s the ultimate outsider and he did it. We are so proud of him.”

Closing ranks

Mr. Trump clinched the nomination nearly two months ago. But relentless controversy over his campaign rhetoric and a simmering movement by anti-Trump delegates to deny him the nomination made it less than a foregone conclusion. It was not the smoothest of votes, with two Colorado delegates abstaining and the delegation of the capital Washington declaring their votes for Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich, only to have them flipped to Mr. Trump by the convention chair in order to follow party rules for the district.

But for the most part the State delegations closed ranks behind the nominee, after a fractious opening day, when chaos broke out on the floor as anti-Trump delegates launched a short-lived revolt. His wife, Melania Trump, brought some pizzazz to the proceedings on the opening night as the Trump team sought to get the event back on track. But an embarrassing plagiarism scandal tarnished her prime-time speech — and brought her husband’s presidential campaign under withering scrutiny.

Ms. Clinton, however, wasted no time seeking to capitalise on Mr. Trump’s party victory.

“Donald Trump just became the Republican nominee. Chip in now to make sure he never steps foot in the Oval Office,” she said in a tweet.

Bangladesh says over 260 missing amid hunt for extremists

Officials on Wednesday announced that at least 261 people across Bangladesh were missing. The country’s elite security force, Rapid Action Battalion, published the list on Facebook around midnight and called on citizens to report the whereabouts of the missing.

“We have to find them,” RAB spokesman Mufti Mahmud Khan told AFP.

The Bangladeshi government ordered security officials to collate the list in the wake of two major terror attacks by militants who had been missing for months.Suspected members of a homegrown terror group murdered 20 people, including 18 foreigners, after they attacked an upscale cafe in Dhaka earlier this month.

The Islamic State later claimed responsibility for the attack — an assertion rejected by Bangladeshi authorities. The gruesome murders were followed by another daring assault on the nation’s largest Eid prayer congregation in which three people and an attacker were killed in a massive gunfight in a northern Bangladesh town.Police and parents said the five attackers at the cafe siege and at least two gunmen at the Eid carnage had been missing for months.

“If there are any missing family members, please tell us, don’t be afraid that law-enforcement agencies will take your sons away,” said RAB chief Benazir Ahmed.

“Their lives and other lives can be saved if they are found.”Local media outlets have reported that dozens of people, including doctors, engineers and students from elite universities have travelled to the Middle East to join the IS.In one case, engineer Najibullah Ansari had been missing for over a year when his parents reached out to the police after the government launched the campaign to account for the country’s missing.

According to his family, Ansari last contacted his younger brother in January 2015 via Facebook, saying he was in war-torn Iraq fighting with jihadists.“I have come to Iraq. Tell father and mother not to worry for me. I have come here for jihad,” read the message according to a screen shot seen by local daily Dhaka Tribune.

“I will never return home,” he added.

Sing out! In private

singout

Every one of us harbours a secret desire to be a singer, but may never summon the courage to get on stage, hold a microphone and let it out. Some of us even have that one friend in our gang who goes that extra mile and sings one particular song the entire day and irritates the rest. That’s where karaoke apps come to the rescue.

While you can sing to your heart’s content, in the privacy and comfort of your room with just you and your puzzled pet as the audience, your annoying friend can be gifted a pair of headphones and a karaoke app to go crazy and find more songs to entertain you with.

Karaoke Jockey Valentine Moraes, who hosts karaoke events across the city, points out that not every one in the audience gets to hog the limelight in a karaoke night. “While some may not get the right song, a few others may not get the opportunity due to the rush of interested singers and a few more may just be too shy to get on stage. Karaoke apps are the answer to all these problems.”

Entrepreneur Sam Thomas says karaoke apps have their disadvantages too. “Most people don’t realise what terrible singers they are. I’ve got some friends with the apps who sing aloud to their favourite songs with their headphones on and it is poor bystanders like me who have to bear the brunt of their raucous and, sometimes, intolerable voice. No amount of disapproving stares deters them. But on the bright side, at least we make sure we boo them enough to never get on a stage and hold a microphone,” he quips.

For some, however, the apps have been a godsend. Musician James Prabhakar says karaoke apps were what led him to take to music. “I love to sing but never really got the opportunity to discover my talent while growing up. It was only after I got my first smartphone a couple of years ago that I found the world of karaoke. Even then, I couldn’t muster the guts to sing in public. So I found my calling in karaoke apps. Soon, I was belting out my favourite rock and metal numbers in perfect harmony. That gave me the confidence to get on stage and be a musician. It made my dream come true.”

Sudha Kezia, a student of Humanities, points out that she always had trouble with lyrics when she used to attend karaoke nights.“Karaoke apps helped me overcome that disability. Now lyrics come easy to me since I practise so much on my phone. Whether I am at home or when I’m travelling to college, I’m always hooked on to my playlist and singing along. There’s so much release in singing and these apps go a long way in making that possible. They also help me record and share.”

She adds that some apps even have a duet mode that allows her brother to tag along. “We do two-part harmonies together and it makes the experience all the more fun.”

Kabali Mania, Companies Declaring Holiday

kab

Gone are the days for the numerous jokes and memes about the leave letters and sick leaves asking for a holiday on to the release date of Super Star Rajinikanth’s Kabali. The joke has now become real as several companies are declaring holiday on Friday the 22nd.

The Kabali mania has particularly engulfed the IT city Bengaluru, where most companihave thrilled their staff by giving them a long weekend holiday including Friday, just to catch up with the man, Rajinikanth.Even though the tickets were priced at skyrocketing rates ranging from 300 to 1000 in the multiplexes and single screens, die-hard Rajini fans are not even thinking twice to grab the tickets to see the man at his fiery best this weekend.

The craze is such that a company’s official notice says, “the holiday is declared to avoid sick leaves, mobile switch-offs and mass bunks”. Since companies are even going out of way to woo their staff and are also arranging tickets for them at multiplexes through corporate bookings. What’s even more amusing is that an online petition has been requesting the Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa to declare a holiday on Friday the 22nd on account of Rajini’s Kabali release.

July 22- Litmus Test for AP

The new state of Telangana has been carved out only after the years of struggle with political leaders, students, NGOs, lawyers, various employees coming together making the state formation an impending one. There’s no denying that Telangana wouldn’t have formed without political leaders cutting across party lines have fought in unison for the cause keeping aside their political rivalry, differences.

The leaders, people of the successor state of AP should get inspired more or less from it as come July 22 AP is facing a litmus test. The private bill on Special Category Status (SCS) for AP, moved by Congress Rajya Sabha member KVP, is coming up for voting on Friday. The moot question is whether the TDP MPs, YSRCP MPs and BJP MPs in Rajya Sabha would vote in favour of the bill in Rajya Sabha or not.

Though Congress leaders from AP are going all out and seeking support from TDP, BJP and YSRCP on the issue, the response seem to be a bit bleak. AP Congress wrote to the leaders of political parties asking them to issue whip to its party MPs to participate in the voting. Congress has already managed to get the support of both Left parties – CPI and CPI(M) – Samajwadi party and BSP who have agreed to vote in favour of the bill. It’s time for political parties in AP to put aside their professional conflict and support the bill in the Upper house as it’s very crucial for mounting pressure on Centre to accord Special Category Status to the new state.

Supreme Hero Sai Dharam Tej just completed a hat-trick of successes with his Summer release, Supreme. But some how there is no hype for his next release, Thikka which is lined up for August 13th. Probably a flop director in its ranks may be the reason. The makers seem to have sensed that and found a way out.

They have brought in Tamil Star Hero Dhanush to render the title song of the film. Dhanush is a rage with songs like ‘Kolaveri Di’. The First Look Teaser of the film will also be out today. If it is good, then the film will get the much needed hype. Thikka is currently in the last leg of its shoot.

They are currently shooting the item song in the film. Farah Karimaee who made her Bollywood debut in Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Tera Suroor 2’ movie, is shaking her booty for the song which goes like ‘Rap Chic Rap Chic…Thoda Thoda Bam Chic’. Prem Rakshit is composing steps for this song. The audio release event of the movie is being planned for July 30th.
