Dil Raju’s Sankranthi 2017 blockbuster ‘Shatamanam Bhavathi’ not just ruled box office and Television, but also won a National Film Award. Could anyone have predicted that this emotion-filled film would become a flop? Well, sensible music director Mickey J Meyer did.

In a candid conversation with a daily, Meyer said that he used to assess films while doing re-recording and that he thought both Shatamanam Bhavathi and Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Happy Days’ would flop.

‘My predictions have come wrong on many occasions and the best examples are Happy Days and SB. I didn’t understand Happy Days when I first saw it and predicted that it would be a dud. But, the film became a blockbuster. Later, while doing re-recording, I thought that Shatamanam Bhavathi would not connect with audiences. I immediately called Dil Raju garu and told the same. He however assured me that the film would become a hit. I was yet again proved wrong,’ revealed Mickey.

He added that he has now stopped predicting results and giving feedback to makers during post-production.

Release Problems for Baahubali 2 in TN

There is already a huge confusion over whether Baahubali 2 will release in Karnataka or not amidst the controversy involving Satyaraj. Now, the epic film is facing release hurdles in Tamil Nadu too.

The release of Baahubali 2 in Tamil Nadu is currently hanging in the balance after the Madras high court issued a notice to its distributors for Tamil Nadu, responding to a civil suit. The Court refused to stay the scheduled release of the film but asked the theatrical rights owner, M S Sharavanan of Sri Green Productions to revert by April 18.

Chennai-based Ace Media complained that Sri Green Productions had taken a loan from it in January 2017 on the promise that the total amount would be returned along with Rs 10 lakhs interest before the release of Baahubali 2. The petitioner alleged that his debtor is going ahead with the release without clearing his debt as promised. Hence the petitioner sought a stay on the release of Baahubali 2 in Tamil Nadu until his due is settled.

The High Court has asked the distributor to respond by April 18. Based on his reply, Baahubali 2’s release issue will be resolved.

Is Trivikram Compromising On Quality For Pawan?

Trivikram’s films are not just known for the entertaining and heart touching dialogues but also for high technical values. As the star director is teaming up with arguably the biggest Tollywood star, Pawan Kalyan expectations are sky high. So, how well is Trivikram packaging this film?

The film’s shooting was started a week ago and it is heard that Trivikram is canning scenes at jet speed. Trivikram is generally known for taking his own sweet time for wrapping movies so his speed naturally came as a surprise to movie lovers. Some fans have apprehensions that he might be compromising on the quality and trying to wrap the film as fast as possible on the request of politically-motivated Pawan Kalyan.

Shooting of Pawan’s last two films – Sardaar and Katamarayudu was allegedly completed in hurry as the actor was giving intermittent breaks due to his political endeavors. Both the films tanked at box office and criticism came from every possible corner for the low quality films. So, fans has a pertinent reason to be worried over the pace of Trivikram.

Coming to Trivikram, he  has his share of flops but none of his film was ever criticized for quality. Athadu is still considered a stylish classic. As he spent more than six months waiting for Pawan, he has planned each and everything with utmost clarity and that could be the reason why he is able to finish the shoot at good pace. He also has roped in a technically sound team to give the best output.

As per reports, Trivikram has convinced Pawan not to take breaks in the middle of planned schedules and he is going with pitch perfect planning. So, fans need to keep calm and have faith in Trivikram’s magic.

Notwithstanding the flop streak of crazy director Puri Jagannath, Balakrishna Nandamuri has given him the chance to direct his 101st film. However, Balayya has reportedly said no to another proposal of Puri before handing him the license to direct.

As per reports, Puri thought of producing #NBK101 under his own banner. When he requested the same, Balayya vehemently turned down the idea citing that he had already committed to do a film for V. Ananda Prasad of Bhavya Creations. Puri could do nothing but oblige as he was in no position to take chances with Balayya’s temper. The Nandamuri hero promised Puri to give him another chance after three years.

After completing Satakarni, Balayya was supposed to act in Krishna Vamsi’s ‘Rythu’ for Bhavya Creations. Even though he dropped the project, he didn’t forget the word given to the producer. That’s why Balayya is called producers’ hero.

Big Shock! AAP Loses Deposit in Delhi

Share

aap

In a major blow to the ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP), the party suffered an absolute defeat in the by-election facilitated after its sitting MLA resigned. Teaching a lesson to the ruling AAP, the people of Rajouri Garden Assembly constituency have voted against the party in the recently held by-election. This is not all. The incumbent AAP lost its deposit and finished to the third spot while BJP and Congress secured first and second subsequently.

BJP-SAD combine’s candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa bagged 40,602 seats, i.e over 50 per cent of the total votes polled. While Congress’ candidate Meenakshi Chandela got 25,950 votes i.e 38.3 per cent of the polled votes while AAP got just 10,243 votes which is 10 per cent of the total polled votes. This is a huge set back to AAP as it fallen from 47 per cent (in last election) to 10 per cent in the same constituency.

With this, the BJP’s tally in the 70-member Delhi Assembly will become four. The Congress does not have any presence in the House. While the defeat of AAP is expected, what’s surprising are – AAP losing its deposit and Congress rising from 12 per cent to 38.3 per cent.

AAP’s Jarnail Singh quit as MLA to contest the Punjab Assembly poll against SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal. AAP has fielded Harjeet Singh in replacement of Jarnail Singh in the by-poll. In the 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, AAP won 67 of the 70 seats in the assembly creating a record victory. With AAP mired in several allegations and is in the news for wrong reasons, the lose of a seat in by-poll seems to be a change of mood in Delhi voters.

As Delhi is bracing up for April 23 municipal polls, this victory of BJP and rise of Congress is reviving hopes for them. On other hand, AAP defended the result stating that people of the Rajouri Garden Assembly are annoyed with their MLA Jarnail Singh’s decision to quit the post.

Tamanna's Greed Killed 'Queen'!

Share

Tamanna.

We have already reported that the Telugu-Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster film ‘Queen’ was shelved. Senior actor and filmmaker Thyagarajan, who was planning to remake Queen with Tamanna in lead role, has now reportedly revealed that her exorbitant demands for remuneration forced him to shelve the project.

Thyagarajan had acquired the Southern remake rights of Queen some two years ago. Ever since he has approached several actresses right from Nayanthara, Anushka, Trisha to Samantha but he somehow decided to make the film with Tamanna. He even made a formal announcement regarding the same.

Just the other day, news broke out that the Queen remake was shelved. Thyagarajan has now cited that he couldn’t meet the staggering remuneration demands of Tamanna. In fact, he has already invested good sum for remake rights and since it is a heroine oriented subject, its box office prospects are also not too bright. He must have felt that he couldn’t make the film within budget if he splurges money on Tamanna herself.

He could have gone for the likes of Nitya Menen but then he needed a star heroine to pull crowds.

Will Our Biggies Remake This Film??

Share

kiran

Probably Venkatesh Daggubati is the only star who has come out of the closet and played a role of his age in Guru movie, while his other contemporaries are still reeling in that star-image and reducing their age. Here comes an interesting discussion now.

Today a special show of Tamil film “Pa Paandi” was screened for Tamil media folks and a positive response is coming out post the screening. The film deals with the story of 60 year old hero, played by Raj Kiran and his mature romance with senior heroine Revathi, and it is directed by none other than Danush. Now the big questions are, which Telugu hero would like to remake this movie?

If in case stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Balayya wants to remake this, then they have to play their original age. Will it be a possibility? Or the likes of Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj do it for Telugu audiences?

Probably its time for the A-list senior superstar to shed their image and do some films that are close to reality. Even Tollywood will get a name then for coming out of the cocoon and delivering new content. Otherwise, there is no point in these senior stars always beating goons to dust and wooing heroines half their age on silver screen.
