Amid the growing fears and severe protests, Republican party contestant Donald Trump sworn in as new president of United States on 21st January. After taking oath as new boss of America, Donald Trump spoke with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time on 24th Jan 11:30PM IST.

Sharing his first phone-call experience with Trump, PM Modi tweeted, “Had a warm conversation with President @realDonaldTrump late last event.” The two global leaders discussed the opportunities to strengthen the bi-lateral partnership between both the countries, apart from economy, defence and security issues.

Although, much was not disclosed about their telephonic meeting, young Indians were expecting more friendly ties between two nations in view of changes in H1-B policy. This was particularly worrisome for Indian IT industry, with major onsite teams in US, and led to a greater depreciation of Indians looking to work in US. As both leaders possess high antipathy and strong views against global terrorism, there must have been a brief discussion on how to collaboratively work towards exterminating it completely, particularly in Asia and Europe.

Continuing the friendly relationship, India-US maintained under the leadership of Modi-Obama, Trump reportedly invited PM to visit Washington later year to discuss further on various mutual problems encountered by both nations. With a view to broaden the ties and improve the cordial relations, Modi also asked Trump to pay a visit to India.

After Trump assuming office as President, Narendra Modi was the fifth global leader and second Asian leader he had call with, following the heads of Mexico, Canada, Israel and Egypt. And, it proves how largely ‘White House’ is planning to move with India and its leader in the months to come.

Allegedly Yuvraj Singh won’t share a cordial relation with MS Dhoni. The duo said to had bitter relation.

But putting all those rumours to rest, Yuvi has shared a video of both Dhoni and Yuvi together.

With Yuvi’s hands around MS Dhoni’s shoulder, Yuvi paid rich tribute to the former skipper MS Dhoni and lauded his contribution to Indian cricket.

Sharing their pic, Yuvi tweeted, “Well done @msdhoni on your career as captain ! 3 major wins 2 w cups, time to unleash the old dhoni”.

The video sees both Yuvi and Dhoni appreciating each other’s contribution and Yuvi poses a few questions to Dhoni to which the former captain gently answers.

Yuvraj asks Dhoni about his journey as Indian cricket team captain, to which Dhoni replied that the players like him (Yuvi) made his (Dhoni’s) job much more easier.

Yuvi calls Dhoni as best captain ever and Dhoni thanks Yuvi for the “witnessing the 6 sixes at the best seat’. Yuvi thanked Dhoni in return for the ‘opportunity to slog always’.

On the whole, it certainly gives an impression of a great friendship between Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni.

Perhaps, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is going through one of the most toughest phase of his political career.

After winning the title of the ‘longest serving chief minister’ of AP by holding office for close to a decade in his first stint in office (1995-2004) and then moving ahead to become the ‘longest serving opposition leader’ in the state for yet another decade (2004-2014), Chandrababu Naidu has begun his second stint as chief minister. And no, it’s not a bed of roses for Naidu.

Not just his political opponents like YSRCP, even political allies like BJP, Janasena & old friend of TDP Loksatta JP too troubling Naidu in every possible way.

While YS Jagan has been creating fears among the farmers in capital region and provoking them to fight against the state government, and also trying to create disturbances every now and then and thus put state government in tight spot, Kapu crusader Mudragada Padmanabham is taking on cash-crunch government over including their community into BCs and declaring a war on government, good ally Jana Sena Pawan Kalyan criticizing government over Special Category Status and farmers issues, and of course BJP that’s part of TDP government in state and ally of NDA at Centre is troubling Naidu at his best by going back and forth on crucial deciscions and raising suspicions over special package, Chandrababu Naidu is a lone warrior ( a la Satakarni) who is ruling the state at his best with the available resources by making Amaravati as the capital.

While he tactfully solved a score of problems with his wit, vast experience and still so many are pending, he hasn’t tired yet and importantly, he didn’t given up. Also, none of his ministers could bail out Naidu from the situation and he’s all alone waging battle against all the odds that’re coming his way.

Ever since he became CM to the successor state of AP, problem after problem tested Naidu’s patience. The Gas pipeline blast in GAIL in June 2014 followed by Hudhud cyclone’s devastation in Oct 2014 that destructed Vizag and incurred crores of loss to government, T-TDP MLA Revanth Reddy allegedly caught bribing for votes in MLC election in Telangana in May 2015 and AP CM & TDP chief Chandrababu’s alleged involvement in it, and a major stampede in Godavari Pushkaram in Rajahmundry that killed nearly 30 in July 2015, Chandrababu has overcome several embarrassing and difficult instances. But all these have made Naidu stronger than before as he’s prepping upto make Amaravati, the capital of Sunrise Andhra Pradesh, a world-class capital.

His achievements include – the Land-pooling policy that won the trust of farmers who willingly gave over 35000 acres of land for the development of the capital region. Tying up with Singapore to build a world-class capital city – Amaravati – is another major achievement.

When cyclone Hudhud had hit Vizag, Naidu personally stayed and saw the relief measures personally and got the city back on its feet in record time. CBN turned Vizag into one of the cleanest cities in India in just a year. It was ranked fifth in the list of clean cities in India.

Except one unfortunate incident, the way Godavari Pushkaram was conducted was also one of the achievements of Naidu’s government.

The Pattiseema project that’s being delayed for decades is successfully initiated by Naidu. Involving the integration of Godavari and Krishna Rivers. It will provide irrigation to 7 lakh acres of farm-land in the state, greatly benefitting the drought prone Rayalaseema.

As Special Category Status to AP is now the hot issue that’s irking Naidu & his cabinet, Chandrababu Naidu has swiftly initiated steps at breakneck speed in getting Special Package from the Centre.

At 65, Chandrababu Naidu is solely working very hard for the new state and its future. Since the power-hungry Jagan can’t digest Naidu’s efforts, it’d be better if sensible person like Pawan Kalyan understands and stands by Chandrababu during these tough times. But as Pawan too is on the opposite side, it’s going to be more tougher for Naidu.

While the first century warrior emperor Satakarni made Amaravathi as his capital and fought against foreign invaders to unite all the Indian kingdoms, twenty-first century leader Chandrababu Naidu has made Amaravathi as capital again and is putting every effort to make the people of Andhra Pradesh proud and directing the state towards development. Hats off to Naidu’s spirit at this age. He’s the true Satakarni of this century, as he’s mustering all the courage and fighting for the cause – progress of AP- he strongly believed in.

Perhaps first time, Telangana Irrigation minister T Harish Rao poured praises on his close relative and cabinet colleague IT Minister KT Rama Rao at an inauguration of the centre of a multi national IT company in Hyderabad.

Harish said it was KTR who brought many laurels to Telangana by attracting huge investments in IT sector after the formation of the state. The IT exports has been increased many fold from Hyderabad under the leadership of KTR. Now, the world is looking at Telangana as a destination for investments.

The minister also said that the TS- iPASS industrial policy introduced by KTR as industries minister also succeeded in bringing more investments in manufacturing sector. After the creation of Telangana, the industries also got relief from power scarcity as the government is supplying required power to all sectors.

Film heroine Rimi Sen, who paired opposite Megastar Chiarnjeevi in Andarivaadu Telugu film in the early 2000, has taken a plunge into active politics. Inspired by the Prime minister Narendra Modi’s policies, she joined BJP.

Rimi Sen will be the BJP’s star campaigner in election bound Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur states. She said she will fulfill responsibilities given by the party in the elections.

The actor made her Bollywood debut with Priyadarshan’s comedy film Hungama in 2003. She also acted with Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar. She was last seen in reality show Bigg Boss in 2015.

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has president seems to have decided to prove that he is no weak politician like his Tamil Nadu counterpart Panner Selvam.

Having seen the kind of violence protests of Tamils at Marina beach in Chennai demanding permission for Jallikattu, Naidu has given firm instructions to his police not to allow any kind of rallies at R K Beach in Visakhapatnam on January 26, demanding special category status for Andhra Pradesh, as called by the Opposition parties.

Within no time, Director General of Police Nanduri Sambasiva Rao called for a press conference and declared that no permission would be given to any rally on the Vizag beach.

“Prior permission is needed from the police well in advance to organise for any mass congregations. There is a specific format to seek the police permission. First of all, we do not know who is organising the rally. Let them come to us and apply for permission. Depending on the situation, we shall decide,” Rao said.

He made it clear that there is no question of allowing any rally based on social media calls.

“Who will be responsible if there is any incident on the beach or any violence in the rally? The organisers have to give it in writing stating that they would be responsible for any eventuality. So far, there is no such application,” he said.

And in the end, the DGP said even if somebody applies for the permission now, it would not be possible to give permission at such a short notice since it required deployment of massive police forces.

As the AP youth is gearing up for a massive silent protest on 26th January, AP DGP has said that no official permission has been granted for the protest as none came forward to take the responsibility. He even branded the movement just a ‘Social Media Creation’. As the dispirited youth is looking for a leader, will Pawan Kalyan take the ownership of this #APSpecialStatusMovement?

Needless to say, it was Pawan Kalyan who reflected the spirit of Jallikattu movement in Tamil Nadu to the AP ‘Special Status’ movement through a series of tweets. As the youth picked up his idea and started a social media campaign to create awareness and planned a movement, Pawan kept adding fuel to the fire with his inspiring tweets. The actor has even released an album titled ‘Desh Bachao’ to instill passion and dedication in youth.

Despite all these, youth are a bit worried now after the DGP refused to allot permission showing no ‘Guaranteer’ as the reason. More than the tweets and album, this is the time for Pawan to come forward and take the responsibility of the movement. Bragging on social media is one thing and leading lakhs of people through a peaceful movement is an entirely different thing. While anyone with some intellect can do the former, only a real leader can accomplish the latter.

The entire Andhra Pradesh people as well as political parties are keenly observing the happenings. Pawan’s next action is awaited.

Pawan Kalyan’s most anticipated music album, Desh Bachao, promoted as a protest album is finally out. While many expected that the music album would offer new songs that would inspire, motivate youth in fighting for their rights including Special Status to AP, what the songs have actually offered is a rehash of Pawan’s classic songs.

Truth be told, even that rehash & remix of Pawan’s old songs were not done well. As the music – err…it’s noise – dominates the song, lyrics go unnoticed leaving fans, music lovers in a tizzy.

Be it “Travelling Soldier” (done in Bhangra Laddoo Mix) or Ye Mera Jaha ( EDM Mix) or Naaraju Gakura Remix, the album has nothing substantial. Though it’s clarified that Desh Bachao album is not for Special Status and it’s about “Opportunistic, Divisive, Criminal politics”, the album doesn’t reflect the ideology and it’s just looked like Pawan trying to cash in on his old hit songs. Simply put, the songs of the album are made with poor taste.

Pawan had a great music taste. Almost all the music albums of his films were hits and his films were called as musical hits irrespective of their performance at the BO.

Music lovers are wondering what has happened to Pawan’s judgement? As the album was originally planned for Feb 5th release, but the songs were released on Jan 24th in a hush hush manner, probably the hurry would have damaged the songs quality.

On the whole, pouring cold water on fans hopes, Pawan Kalyan and DJ Prithvi have failed to deliver a good music album.

Ahead of the scheduled ‘Silent Protest’ of AP youth on 26th January at RK beach in Vizag, DGP Sambasiva Rao has issued clear mandate that police permission would not be provided for movements born on social media.

It is well-known that inspired by the Jallikattu movement in Tamil Nadu, AP youth sans political parties, have decided to silently protest at the RK beach in Vizag on the eve of Republic Day. Although the mainstream print media didn’t endorse this idea, the social media wave took it to so high that even several film celebs have extended their support and some even volunteered to take part in the protest.

Addressing the media, AP DGP has now made it clear that no one has sought official permission for this protest and even if someone does now, it can’t be provided in such short notice.

‘We have no issues with peaceful protests but anti-social elements often prey upon these kinds of mass movements to spread terror in society. This protest has been incited by some enthusiastic people on social media and no one has come forward to take the responsibility if some disturbance occurs,’ added the DGP.

‘People have the right to take part in peaceful movements and we respect it. But, ‘Law and Order’ is our priority. There is no official permission for any sort of protest on Jan 26,’ he reiterated.

On the other hand, those gearing up for protest are citing Article 191b of the Indian constitution, which states – ‘Citizens can protest peacefully without arms’.
