Young Hero’s Climax Twist In Majnu
Even though the film’s shooting began only during the release of his recent release, Gentleman, Nani’s Majnu has surprised everyone by releasing the film’s first look poster and the visual teaser at a jet speed.
Not stopping here, the makers went on to state that Majnu will make it to the theaters on September 17, ensuring Nani’s third release of this year. The teaser has generated a huge positive buzz for the film.
Now, in a surprising twist, young hero Raj Tarun is said to be essaying a special cameo in Majnu towards the film’s climax. Apparently, Raj Tarun’s role will be a hilarious one and will completely change the proceedings towards the film’s climax.
The fact that Raj Tarun was the lead hero in Majnu’s director Virinchi Varma’s debut film Uyyala Jampala has pulled off this cameo coup for Majnu. In Majnu, Nani will be seen as a young man nurturing a broken heart due to love failure. – See more at: http://www.gulte.com/movienews/51159/Young-Heros-Climax-Twist-In-Majnu#sthash.QLMAy5Od.dpuf
Dil Raju Bags Telugu Rights Of Mani Ratnam’s Next
Producer-distributor Dil Raju has snapped the theatrical rights of Telugu dubbed version of filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming Tamil romantic drama “Kaatru Veliyidai”, which stars Karthi in the lead.
“Producer Raju has acquired the rights of the Telugu dubbed version of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ for a fancy price. He had also bought the rights of Mani Ratnam’s last outing ‘Ok Kanmani’ and released it in Telugu as ‘Ok Bangaram’,” a source told IANS.
The source revealed that producer Bandla Ganesh had originally planned to acquire the rights.
“Ganesh was ready to pay much more than what was quoted by original makers. However, since Ratnam had previously worked with Raju, and was happy with their association, he sold the rights to Raju,” he said.
Also starring Aditi Rao Hydari, the film’s music has been given by A.R Rahman.
While Karthi plays a pilot in the film, Aditi plays a doctor.
Why So Much Hurry For Satakarni?
Talented director Krish’s latest movie Gautami Putra Satakarni has been evincing a lot of interest among the audiences not just because it happens to be the 100th film of Nandamuri Balakrishna, but also because of its historical significance. Krish is desperate to release this high budget film on coming Sankranti.
Normally, any such mega venture would take considerable time for completion. Unless every technician is given complete freedom, the output will not be extraordinary. That is precisely why Rajamouli had taken his own time to complete films like Baahubali and Magadheera.
But Krish wants to finish off the film at the earliest and is bringing pressure on his team to speed up the works. That is one of the reasons why music director Devi Sri Prasad dropped out of the movie. Since there are no other star music directors to replace DSP. Krish has engaged Chirantan Bhat, who did music for his earlier film Kanche.
Everybody is of the view that Krish should take his own time to complete Satakarni and think of releasing the movie only after he is fully satisfied about the product. But, surprisingly nobody knows why he is in such a hurry to complete such a gigantic project within six months and release it on Sankranti. Only he has the answer.
Police Warn NRIs Of Phishing
With several non-resident Indians (NRI), especially from the US, complaining to the Cyberabad East police that their banking details were accessed by fraudsters by phishing, police have issued an advisory on Saturday urging citizens not to share passwords on email chats.
“After taking the email account into their control, hackers are selectively sending mails and also communicating on Gmail chat to persons in the contact list of the hacked Gmail accounts.
“The hackers, during the chat, are making persons in the contact list (most of them relatives and friends) to believe that, due to technical reasons, their bank accounts are frozen and they are unable to draw money and requesting them to share their net banking details such as account number, user ID and password, so that, they can draw money abroad,” Cyberabad East commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat said in the release.
Andhra, Telangana Criticised For Funding River Fest
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments have come under flak from rationalists and atheists for spending public funds on ongoing Krishna Pushkaralu river festival.
They alleged that the governments in both the Telugu states were acting against the Constitution and promoting superstitions by spending people’s money on the 12-day festival.
While Andhra Pradesh is spending over Rs 1,000 crore on the mega event, Telangana has released Rs 825 crore for providing amenities to the devotees during the festival which began on Friday.
Andhra Pradesh in particular has come under strong criticism for spending the public money despite the financial crunch the state is facing.
The authorities have built bathing ghats along the river to enable pilgrims to take holy dip.
They have deployed over 40,000 policemen for maintaining law and order during the event and employed thousands others for making and maintaining arrangements for the pilgrims.
Special buses and trains are being operated to transport pilgrims. Over 6.5 crore people are expected to take part in the festival.
Atheist Centre of Vijayawada’s G. Samaram termed this as a waste of public money.
“Ours’ is a secular state and celebrating one particular religion’s event in such a big way is not at all good,” Samaram told IANS.
He said Pushkar entering the river was a superstitious belief and by promoting this the government was going against the Constitution.
“The Article 51A(h) of the Constitution of India clearly states that the government should develop the scientific temper but the governments in these two states are promoting a superstition,” he said.
Samaram, a physician by profession and former president of Indian Medical Association, also warned that people may contract infection by taking bath in Krishna river during the festival.
“During Godavari pushkaram last year, a large number of people suffered skin, eye and throat infection and the same will happen this year in Krishna as there is hardly any water in the river,” he said.
Another well-known atheist G. Vijayam voiced concern that the distinction between state and religion was blurring.
“It’s not just the money they spent but the very attitude of mixing state with religion is objectionable. They are religionising the politics and politicising the religion so that they have an advantage in elections,” he said.
Vijayam believes that religion is a personal matter in a secular state and the state should be equal to all. “Religion is a personal matter while state is everyone’s matter,” he said.
He said no one denies that the government can make minimum arrangements for such events to maintain law and order.
“But encouraging people to come in large numbers, inviting religious heads and making this an agenda of the government for 10 to 12 days in a way that the governance comes to a standstill is not correct attitude,” said Vijayam.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu are known for organising religious rituals and actively participating in them.
“They are deliberately confusing people and this is not good for the states. They can perform the rituals in their personal capacity. No one will have an objection to it,” Vijayam said.
“Ours is a composite culture. People from different background live here. There is freedom of speech and religion but at the same time state is secular. We should not forget this and this character must be held,” he added.
