AP Gov Invites NTR, How About Pawan?

Share

pawan

The latest developments in Andhra Pradesh Politics reveal the meticulous tactics of TDP Supreme Chandrababu Naidu.Chandrababu, who cleverly took the help of Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan to win elections in 2014, is now looking towards NTR Jr to help his party sail through in the 2019 general elections. As Pawan has already announced that Jana Sena will contest the 2019 elections on its own, Naidu is making efforts to reconcile with NTR Jr to use him as a weapon against the stardom of Pawan.

It may be noted that NTR Jr had extensively campaigned for TDP during 2009 elections. Later, differences cropped up between NTR and the duo of Naidu and Balakrishna. It is heard that although NTR tried to make peace, Balayya’s ego stopped the reconciliation of Naidu and NTR then. As a result, NTR was not even invited to campaign for TDP during 2014 elections. After TDP won the polls, the distance grew further. He was not invited for Mahanadu and Amaravati Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony either.

On the other hand, there is no clarity on invitation to Pawan. If the AP ministers had personally invited Pawan, like they did in the case of NTR, it would have been a massy headline. On the whole, analysts believe that TDP’s love towards NTR is only to nullify the effect of Pawan in future.

Samantha Unhappy with Trailer??

samanta

Beautiful actress Samantha, who has never missed the audio releases of her films, has surprisingly given a miss to her upcoming big budget film, ‘Janatha Garage’, whose audio release event was held on Friday evening at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad.Even though Samantha cited illness as reason for skipping the event, gossipmongers tell a different theory. It is heard that Samantha was preparing well to attend ‘Janatha Garage’ audio launch event as it could be her last film (she is rumored to have stopped signing film in lieu of wedding with Naga Chaitanya).

But, after watching the film’s trailer, she had got so disappointed that she cancelled her plan and skipped the event citing health concerns. Those who have seen the trailer are well aware that Samantha was hardly introduced in it. Nithya Menen who is playing second fiddle, also has dialogues in the trailer but Samantha has none. She was shown in just 2-3 blink-and-miss shots.

Disappointed Samantha is heard to have decided to abandon the film’s promotions as well.

Yesterday, Jr.Ntr’s upcoming film ‘Janatha Garage’ Audio Launch was held Grandly in Hyderabad. Especially, his speech has become the talk of the town now.As usual Jr.Ntr started his speech by taking Blessing from his Grandfather, Sr.Ntr. Followed by, Requesting the Two States Telugu people to take care of Pilgrims who are going to visit for Pushkaralu.

Everyone are applauding Jr.Ntr’s well-matured speech. While, his fans are overjoyed with Both the trailer and his speech. Interim, the film is slated for release on September 2nd. Finally, let’s hope Jr.Ntr’s search for Light will be available in a form of ‘Janatha Garage’ and remain as much need hit after Pushkaram (12years).

Now, Sirish Wants A Film With Rajamouli

Well, who doesn’t want to act under Tollywood’s numero uno director SS Rajamouli’s direction? It is now the turn of Allu Sirish to aspire to act even in a small part in an SS Rajamouli film.Allu Sirish is still promoting his recently released romantic family drama, Srirastu Subhamasthu. He recently interacted with a Bengaluru-based journalist of leading English national news daily and said he would be happy if a filmmaker like SS Rajamouli offers him a part in a mass-appealing movie.

However, Sirish is in no hurry to turn a mass hero as he plans to act in a few more romantic films a mature as an actor before taking up action hero roles. As of now, Sirish prefers college romantic films.

Sirish also expressed his wish to be part of Srirastu Subhamasthu’s Kannada remake if senior Kannada star Ramesh Aravind helms the remake as being speculated. Well, this Allu hero certainly has big dreams.

Only Drawback in ‘Janatha Garage’ Trailer

The theatrical trailer of NTR’s ‘Janatha Garage’ has been unveiled to great response from movie lovers. The powerful and youthful screen presence of NTR, the fresh subject of hero’s love with nature, stunning visuals, pulsating background score, Koratala Siva’s taking and many more positives were observed in the trailer. But, viewers were disappointed with only one aspect and that is Mohanlal.

Well, who can complain about Mohanlal’s acting ability and his screen presence. What bothered everyone was the dubbing for him. Just few days ago, Mohanlal’s comeback Telugu film ‘Manamantha’ was released in which Mohanlal’s original voice was heard. Telugu audiences, who got connected with his original voice, are now unable to digest the dubbing voice used for him in ‘Janatha Garage’ trailer. Whenever, Mohanlal uttered a dialogue in the trailer, it sounded like watching a Telugu dubbed version.

It is heard that Mohanlal couldn’t dub for the trailer due to his busy schedule but he will definitely dub for the theatrical film. If this mistake is not rectified, it will definitely show its impact after film’s release.

Thikka Movie Review

Story

Adithya (Sai Dharam Tej) is a working professional who enjoys his life as any employed bachelor. On a very first sight of Anjali (Larissa Bonessi) who hits his car, he falls for her. He makes her fall for him. Irritated by his nature Anjali breaks with him and gives him a letter which Adithya don’t read. Adithya by this breakup is very upset and parties with his friends with sadness and creates huge ruckus wherever they go. Finally they go to Anjali’s marriage venue and creates problem calling Anjali out. He then receives call from Anjali asking him to come to regular place as per the plan in the letter. Why did she break with him?? What is the plan in the letter?? How he solved all the problems forms the rest of the story.

Performance

Sai Dharam Tej is nice as Adithya. He is improving a lot from movie to movie. He is not so convincing when he talks sober. He looks good but in the same look as his previous movies. Larissa Bonessi is okay as Anjali. Mannara Chopra is good. She looks beautiful in some scenes. Satya as friend of Aditya, Steve is good. Sapthagiri and Tagubothu Ramesh are hilarious. Ali is good but mask used to show him as bald looks artificial and unconvincing. Ajay is psychotic and performed well. Rajendra Prasad is impressive as Adithya’s father. Vennela Kishore is super funny as Jayanth. All other artists are fine for their roles.

Technical Performance

Story of Thikka is good and simple. Screenplay is mediocre and dialogues are good.Tunes rendered by SS Thaman are nice. Thikka Thikka song is an instant chartbuster. Background score is nice which help scenes work even more. Cinematography by K.V.Guhan is fantastic. His visuals made this movie look super rich in quality. Editing by Karthika Srinivas is good. Action sequences are choreographed and shot well. Production values are rich.

Plus points

Final Say

This movie begins with after effects of ruckus created by Adithya and gang over a breakup night and moves into flashback mode when Adithya is about to kill himself with poison. This flashback is engaging at beginning and becomes pale after a couple of scenes with screenplay.Thikka thikka song which is a chartbuster fails to reach the expectations and leaves audience seeking more. Interval scene is average and fails to create the much needed curiosity for the second half. Characters comes for scenes and go without having any prominence. Second half begins in jail where Adithya and gang are tied by Posani follwed by Vellipoke song which seems forced for the situation. Comedy injected in the scenes of second half are a big let down at times. This story has more back stories and twists which misfire due to screenplay. There are many scenes involving slow motion shots which are good to watch. Numerous glass breaks, many vehicle accidents, breakup scenes, ruckus in public places, slow motion shots are the core of this Thikka. To sum up, Thikka is a very thikka film from Sai Dharam Tej which fails to impress audience.

Xinhua commentary hints at NSG-SCS quid pro quo

Share

SRI

As Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi began his three-day visit India visit from Goa, a commentary in the state-run Xinhua news agency that appeared on Friday was not far from linking New Delhi’s entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) with the South China Sea (SCS) issue. The juxtaposition of the two themes, which have recently become a cause for friction between the two countries, appeared under the title, “India should join China in rising above differences, forging closer partnership.”

Slight softening of NSG stand

The write-up underscored that India should not consider that its entry into the NSG is “tightly closed”. It pointed out that “so far, there is no precedent for a non-Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) signatory to become a NSG member”. But it added: “However, New Delhi should not be downhearted as the door to the NSG is not tightly closed. But any future discussions need to be based on safeguarding an international nuclear non-proliferation mechanism, in which India itself has a huge stake.”

Quid pro quo hinted at

Without stating that a quid pro quo could be in the offing, the article, nevertheless followed its observations on India’s stalled bid for the NSG with an elaboration of the SCS issue — especially, highlighting New Delhi’s support for a dialogue “between the parties concerned” during the Foreign Ministerial meeting of the Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral earlier this year.“In a joint communiqué issued by the Foreign Ministers of China, India and Russia after they met in Moscow earlier this year, India agreed that the SCS issue should be addressed through talks between the parties concerned,” the commentary observed.

After U.S., Japan stepped into SCS issue

China’s insistence on a direct dialogue among the disputants follows its angst against the involvement of outside powers, especially the United States and Japan, in the SCS arena. China’s sensitivities have been further heightened after an international tribunal at The Hague, in its ruling rejected Beijing’s claims in the SCS.

“Given that the SCS correlates with China’ s vital national interests, it is hoped that India would fully comprehend Beijing’ s concerns, and continue to play a constructive role in maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific,” said the commentary.India has faulted China for blocking its entry in the 48-nation NSG, which controls the global flow of nuclear material and technology. The Xinhua write-up, however, stressed that “India has wrongly blamed China for blocking its entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).”

‘Emerging countries will feel cheated’

Earlier in an interview with The Hindu, Han Hua, director for Arms Control and Disarmament at Peking University, had observed that making an exception for India to join the NSG as a nuclear weapon State was also likely to trigger resistance from some emerging countries such as Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, as well as Kazakhstan. These nations, which had given up nuclear weapons capability or atomic weapons at one stage, were bound to “feel cheated” if India was “rewarded” because, unlike them, it persisted in pursuing atomic weapons.

The article noted that the two countries need to work together to keep their disagreements in check, as they entered “a season of intensive top-level diplomatic encounters that could well define the future of their partnership”

What is Vladimir Putin up to in Crimea?

Share

O

Russia is conducting a series of military and rhetorical escalations toward Ukraine that have analysts once again looking for clues as to President Vladimir Putin’s next move.On Wednesday, Russia’s state security agency, the FSB, claimed that it had blocked an attack on Crimea by “sabotage-terrorist groups” sponsored by the Ukrainian government, though two Russian soldiers were killed. Putin accused the Ukrainian government of using terrorism to incite conflict over Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014.

Infiltration attempt

There are two sets of overlapping events: the supposed recent attack on Crimea, and Russia’s build-up there. The official Russian account lays out the first as follows: It began late Saturday, when FSB officers discovered a group of saboteurs just on the Crimean side of the land border with Ukraine. A fire-fight ended with one FSB officer killed and several of the saboteurs captured. Then on Monday, Ukrainian special forces attempted to cross into Crimea, killing one Russian soldier in firing over the border.

Moscow insists that Ukraine sponsored the plot. It’s difficult to judge the truth of these claims. Ukraine denies them.Whatever happened, images found by open-source analysts suggest that Russia has been escalating its military presence in Crimea since at least Saturday — before the supposed attack occurred.Mr. Putin has also escalated his language toward Ukraine, choosing to use this episode for some larger aim.

Analysts have pointed out disturbing parallels with how Russia behaved just before previous military actions against Ukraine. In February 2014, similar speeches and military manoeuvres provided cover for Crimean volunteer militias to seize the peninsula, then still controlled by Ukraine, only to reveal they were in fact Russian special forces launching a military occupation. Some have wondered whether Moscow might be plotting another intervention. Fighting has increased in eastern Ukraine, as it did before the August 2014 incursion.

But that seeming parallel may be the point, meant to create fear of military action — rather than actual action — that will give Mr. Putin leverage with Ukraine and with Western countries.

Classic Russian strategy

Mark Galeotti, a New York University professor who studies Russia, pointed out that Crimea would make little sense as a staging ground for military action against eastern Ukraine, which borders mainland Russia but not Crimea, and that the rest of the country is better defended. “It’s highly unlikely that the Russians are truly planning some major offensive,” Mr. Galeotti said. Rather, “We’re looking at a classic Russian strategy of building up tension.”

International peace talks over Ukraine, once the mechanism by which Mr. Putin forced contact with Western leaders who had shunned him over annexing Crimea, have become increasingly regarded as fruitless and irrelevant.By dangling the threat of renewed conflict, Mr. Putin gives the talks a new purpose: to coax him back from the brink.“It’s a standard Putin tactic — he wants to try to go there from a position of strength,” Mr. Galeotti said of the next peace talks, planned for early September. — The New York Times News Service
