As always, India loses and questions pop—out about Dhoni’s retirement. As India lost to West Indies, the same question came at the press meet and an Australian journalist asked Dhoni if he was going to continue after today. Immediately Dhoni called him up and he invited him to sit near him. Later the conversation between him and the reporter was a funny and smart one. The conversation goes as follows,

Dhoni : Do you want me to retire? Do you think I am unfit? Do you like my running?

Journalist: No. No. Yes, you are fast.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday made history by making a power-point presentation on irrigation projects in the newly created state.

Amid boycott by the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the chief minister made a detailed presentation on redesigning of projects to ensure optimum utilization of water from Krishna and Godavari rivers.

Three giant LCD screens were installed in the assembly while another screen was put up in the legislative council to enable legislators to watch the presentation.

KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, was seated in his chair with the permission of Speaker Madhusudhana Chary to make the presentation with the help of a laptop and a large monitor in front of him.

He began the presentation with the help of Google maps to show how upper riparian states of Maharashtra and Karnataka constructed 480 barrages on the two rivers and their tributaries.

The main opposition Congress and TDP boycotted the presentation on the ground that this will set an unhealthy precedent.

Opposition leader K. Jana Reddy told the speaker in a letter that there was no precedent in parliament or any assembly of a debate being initiated with audio-visual presentation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members were present in the house.

Before beginning the presentation, KCR explained how Telangana suffered in irrigation sector due to injustice and discrimination in united Andhra Pradesh.

Explaining why his government re-designed the projects, he declared that all irrigation projects will be completed to irrigate one crore acres of land and to turn Telangana into a lush green and prosperous state.

Mumbai: Star batsmen Lendl Simmons smashed an unbeaten 83 alongside Johnson Charles’s 52 as a spirited West Indian side chased down a challenging total to outclass India by seven wickets in the second semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium here on Thursday to enter the final of the World Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Batting first, India posted a competitive total of 192/2 in 20 overs, thanks to Virat Kohli’s 89.

In reply, a brave Windies side chased down the total posting 196/3 in 19.4 overs, thanks to Simmons’ 51-ball 83 and Charles’ 36-ball 52.

West Indies will now face England, who earlier beat New Zealand in the first semis on Wednesday, in the final at the Eden Gardens on April 3.

Chasing a challenging target of 194, West Indies got off to a worst possible start losing hard-hitting opener Chris Gayle (5) in the second over. Young pacer Jasprit Bumrah cleaned the left-handed batsman to have West Indies at 6/1.

As his opening partner Johnson Charles and incoming batsman Marlon Samuels (8) were looking to build a partnership after the first wicket, veteran Indian pacer Ashish Nehra struck in the third over to send Samuels back to the pavilion and leave the Windies struggling at 19/2.

But next up, Charles and Simmons used their experience to good effect and score at a good pace to bring up 50-run partnership for the third wicket in just 34 balls and help team post 84/2 in 10 overs.

But Charles, soon after he brought up his third T20I half-century in just 30 balls was sent back to the pavilion by none other than skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s surprise package bowler Kohli. The 97-run partnership for the third wicket was finally broken which helped India make a comeback into the game.

Set batsman Simmons, who was caught twice off two balls, eventually brought his fifty up in just 37 balls to keep Windies alive in the game.

From there on, Andre Russell (43 not out off 20 balls) and Simmons remained unbeaten to steer their team to a triumph.

Earlier put into bat, openers Rohit Sharma (43) and Ajinkya Rahane (40) got India off to a flying start scoring 55 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay.

But as Rohit was cruising after striking three boundaries and three sixes, leg-spinner Samuel Badree brought the much-needed breakthrough, dismissing him leg before wicket to have India at 62/1 in 7.2 overs.

Incoming in-form batsman Kohli along with Rahane played sensibly, stealing quick singles, twos, and a couple of boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking and help team reach 86/1 in 10 overs.

But as the home side was cruising to take on the Windies bowlers, Russell struck in the 16th over to dismiss Rahane and have India at 128/2.

Next up, Dhoni (15 not out) who promoted himself up the batting order gave good support to Kohli as the duo piled on some useful runs with boundaries and sixes at regular intervals to bring up an unbeaten 64-run partnership for the third wicket and thus help the team post a competitive total.

Badree (1-26) was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies.

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, fondly called by his fans as Big B, might become the next President of India, if the predictions of controversial politician Amar Singh are to be believed.

In an interview to the national television channel Zee News, Amar Singh said he had confidential information that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was contemplating fielding Amitabh Bachchan as the Presidential candidate in the next elections to be held in July 2017.

He said the Prime Minister is preparing the ground to get the Big B elected as the President unanimously.

At present, Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador for the Incredible India campaign of the Central government. He had replaced Aamir Khan recently.

Earlier, he was the brand ambassador for the Gujarat government, when Narendra Modi was its Chief Minister. That way, he became very close to Modi and has been in the latter’s think tank in the recent past. He has been promoting even the Swachh Bharat campaign of the Prime Minister.

So, there is no surprise if Bachchan becomes the President post. He might even get the nomination for the Bharat Ratna award sooner or later, sources said.

KCR is planning to fulfill his vows at Tirupati for formation of Telangana and in a special way. The CM is all set to travel to Tirumala in a special train along with hundreds of people from ten districts of Telangana to pay back the votive to Lord Venkateswara.

The Telangana CM mentioned the same in Assembly that he vowed to present 5 Crore rupees if Telangana forms and government issued a GO to present jewelry worth of 7 crores at Tirupati. Not just that, KCR also vowed to visit Ajmir Dargah and the deputy CM Mahmood Ali is already looking after the arrangements for the same.

And along with that, Telangana government is planning to present votive worth of nearly 59 lakh rupees which include a crown to Warangal Bhadrakali goddess of 57 lakh rupees, a 15 gram nose stud to TIruchanuru goddess, another 15 gram nose stud to Vijayawada Kanakadurgamma and 25 gram golden mustache for Kuruva Veerabhadraswamy.

The other day, YCP MLA Sreekanth Reddy made some sensational comments regarding ill-treatment meted out to the people of Rayalseema region. While sharing his views in Assembly, He blamed TFI Makers for showing Rayalseema People in bad light. ‘While Villains use Rayalaseema slang, Hero uses some other slang.

How could anyone justify calling people of this region as goondas?,’ questions the legislator. Actually, Balakrishna wasn’t in the House when Sreekanth Reddy made these remarks.

After the Actor-turned-Politician stepped into the House, Mr.Reddy confronted him to say, ‘Degrading Rayalseema People, Culture and Slang isn’t fare. Being an MLA representing Hindupur Assembly segment in Rayalaseema, You have to take the initiative to set things right’.

Balakrishna responded positively to Sreekanth Reddy’s appeal. He assured that steps will be taken to prevent any such ill-treatment or misrepresentation of facts in future.
