Their Meet May Cost Pawan’s Film

Share

dasari3

Yesterday, political circles in Telugu states were surprised with the sudden meeting of YSRCP’s President YS Jagan and veteran filmmaker and former Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao. While Dasari maintained that it was a casual meeting, political analysts saw it as Jagan’s desperate move to appease the Kapu community.

Now, the Dasari-Jagan meeting has cast a huge dark cloud on the veteran’s much discussed film with the Janasena party chief Pawan Kalyan. While Pawan is expected to shoot for Dasari’s film after he wraps up Sardaar, Dasari’s closeness with Jagan will definitely irk the Powerstar, which may now pose a threat to Pawan-Dasari film.

During the 2014 elections, Pawan openly lashed out at YS Jagan for his greed for power and also made a few striking comments about the corruption charges running on Jagan. Pawan, who is upright in his political views, may not be amused by Dasari’s proximity to tainted Jagan.

Also, Pawan is in good terms with the AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who is already in an ongoing battle with community leaders demanding BC status for Kapus. If Jagan manages to woo Kapus with Dasari’s support, Pawan’s equation with Babu will surely gain more prominence.

Ajith Responded Positively On Dictator!

Tamil Superstar Ajith is likely to reprise Nandamuri Balakrishna in the Tamil remake of Dictator. If buzz in the tinsel ville is to be believed, Ajith is impressed with the story-line of Dictator and has agreed to be part of the film’s Tamil remake.

Ajith and Balayya has many common points. Be it in terms of image or mass following, both the stars enjoy good fan base. This would have probably led the makers to approach Ajith to which the star said to have responded positively. However, as of now, the discussions are going on and an official confirmation is awaited yet.

Eros International, which is co-producing the film in Telugu, is expected to produce it in Tamil as well. Meanwhile, it’s already reported that the film will have Hindi remake as Ajay Devgn in the lead. If all goes well, director Sriwass would be directing the film in Hindi marking his Bollywood debut.

Swashbuckling West-Indies opening batsman Chris Gayle who is famous for his heroics of thrashing the opposition bowlers and smashing boundaries all over the park has now hit the head-lines for all wrong reasons. Soon after the news of flirting with Australian news anchor Mel Mc Laughlin, another woman who was a support staff of the team has made a shocking revelation.

The unidentified Australian woman was part of the West-Indies team during their series in host’s country last year. She went to the team’s dressing room to grab a quick snack during the innings break as she hasn’t eaten anything since morning.

Gayle was in there wrapped in a towel around his waist. Soon as he saw the woman, he responded by pulling down the towel a bit and showing a peek a boo of his private parts. The lady was shocked by this outcome and pulled herself out of the scene in a rush.

Later the team management wrote a letter to all the players without revealing Gayle’s name to behave themselves with the female staff. The incident was not made public as the lady feared that it would affect her career. But she came out to narrate the story on the condition of anonymity after the Mc Laughlin fiasco. Whatsoever, Public has got to know the play-boy instincts of the dashing opener.

Don’t Blame Balayya for NTR’s Mistake!

The ugly family dispute between Nandamuri heroes is not going to settle anytime soon. With Balakrishna and NTR’s films are all set to clash at the Box Office this Sankranthi, tempers are running high. The latest grapevine doing the rounds in the industry is that NTR’s film hasn’t got as many theatres. And few are blaming Balakrishna for this.

With this, sources close to Balakrishna step in and quashed them as baseless rumours. They made it clear that Balayya has nothing to do with films of others. Pointing out that the shoot of Nannaku Prematho was even completed a day before and Censor is still due, they raised reasonable doubt that how would distributors give theatres in this case.

It also clarified that the whole episode is between distributors and their film’s producer and they don’t have any connection with it.Let’s wait and see who will come out with flying colours this Sankranthi.

Bangladesh court upholds death sentence to top Islamist leader

Bangladesh’s Supreme Court today upheld the death sentence of a top leader of fundamentalist Jamaat-e-Islami for crimes committed by him during the 1971 liberation war against Pakistan, clearing the way for his execution. A four-member Bench headed by Chief Justice S. K. Sinha dismissed an appeal by Motiur Rahman Nizami, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, who orchestrated the massacre of Bangladesh’s best brains in 1971 using his ruthless Al-Badr militia. “The apex court has put the seal on his death penalty handed down previously by the (Bangladesh’s) International Crimes Tribunal,” senior prosecution lawyer Jiad Al Malum said.

A large number of people rallied outside the heavily-guarded court complex to welcome the verdict. The court upheld capital penalty for 73-year-old Nizami in three charges and life imprisonment in two charges. Chief defence counsel Khondker Mahbub Hossain prayed for commuting his death sentence to life imprisonment considering his old age. Nizami is the last remaining top perpetrators of crimes against humanity. Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in October, 2014 sentenced him to death, a verdict which the Supreme Court subsequently upheld.

Nizami then sought to get the apex court verdict reviewed by itself in his last ditch effort to evade the gallows. In 1971, Nizami was the chief of Islami Chhatra Sangha, then student wing of Jamaat. He also headed the Al-Badr militia created by the Pakistan army to suppress the Bengali rebellion. The tribunal said Nizami had been involved in “planning and conspiring” mass killings, murders, rapes and looting at different villages in Pabna. Nizami now faces execution unless his case is reviewed by the court or he is granted clemency by the president.

Jamaat’s secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujaheed, who was also Nizami’s top aide in 1971, was executed last year along with Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, a stalwart of the key opposition BNP which is a crucial ally of the fundamentalist party. Bangladesh so far executed four war crimes convicts since the belated trial process of the top Bengali perpetrators of 1971 atrocities started in line with the electoral commitment of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2008.

How TRS Linked with ISIS Terrorism?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi was a weak party in GHMC limits. This was an old story before the 2014 elections. After coming to ruling, they dragged most of the senior leaders from other parties in the region to their party. Now, TRS has become strong party and polls surveys came in favor of the party. BJP leaders today made strong remarks on TRS party which gave enough boost up to the party workers before going onto the GHMC elections.

BJP senior leader and Central Minister Hansraj Gangaram Ahir was chief guest at the party’s new office inauguration in Nallakunta. After launching the office, Hansaraj has brutally attacked TRS party. “IS terrorism is there in Hyderabad because of TRS party. The party is indirectly encouraging the terrorism. Due to lack of job opportunities, youth is stepping towards terrorism. While the entire nation is worshiping Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and his government is admiring the Nizams,” insisted Hansraj Gangaram.

BJP Telangana President Kishan Reddy also fired on KCR’s government. “Hyderabad’s condition is becoming worse ever since TRS came to ruling. Garbage dumps are not regularly cleaned. CM’s two bed rooms pledge is limited to flexis. They also promised to give at least one job for a family, which isn’t fulfilled yet. We are surely going to win in the GHMC elections,” asserted Kishan Reddy.

When local BJP leaders in awkward conditions couldn’t target TRS, Hansraj Gangaram’s speech has provided sufficient consolation to the party activists.

Oman takes middle course in Saudi-Iran spat

Oman expressed regret on Wednesday attacks on Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran over Riyadh’s execution of a Shiite Muslim cleric, but stopped short of recalling its Ambassador or cutting ties as some other Gulf Arab countries have done. Saudi Arabia cut ties with Shiite Iran on Sunday, responding to the storming of its embassy in Tehran and attack on its consulate in Mashhad, in an escalating row between the rival Middle-East powers over the death of cleric Nimr al-Nimr. Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait back Kingdom

Fellow Gulf Cooperation Council member Bahrain also followed suit, while the United Arab Emirates downgraded its ties with Iran and Kuwait recalled its envoy to Tehran. “A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry said that the Sultanate considers this action unacceptable and at the same time affirms the importance of finding new rules that prohibit any kind of intervention in countries’ internal affairs,” the Oman News Agency reported.

Has ‘good neighbour’ ties with Iran The Arabian peninsular state is seen as having a less fraught relationship with Iran compared to other Gulf countries and pursues a “good neighbour” relationship with Tehran. Its ruler, Sultan Qaboos, orchestrated secret U.S.-Iran contacts that began in Muscat in 2012, leading to the first formal talks between the United States and Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, paving the way for July’s nuclear deal.

New lightweight robot can climb walls!

Berlin: Researchers at Disney have developed a lightweight remote-controlled robot with 3D printed parts that can climb up walls quickly and with agility. Vertigo, a robot created in collaboration between Disney Research and ETH Zurich, has four wheels and two tiltable propellers that provide thrust onto the wall. One pair of wheels is steerable, and each propeller has two degrees of freedom for adjusting the direction of thrust.

By transitioning from the ground to a wall and back again, VertiGo extends the ability of robots to travel through urban and indoor environments, researchers said. The use of propellers to provide thrust onto the wall ensures that the robot is able to traverse over irregular brick walls. Using a central carbon fibre base plate the researchers minimised the weight of the robot, while 3D-printed parts along with carbon-rods were used for more complex three-dimensional structures such as the wheel suspension and the wheels themselves.

The robot has eight individually controlled actuators. To allow a human operator to conveniently drive the vehicle in away similar to common remote controlled cars, an onboard computer is incorporated as a controller. It makes use of two infrared distance sensors, which are mounted in front, to estimate the robot’s orientation in space. Based on this information, the controller then devises the best positions for all actuators to achieve a desired user input.

Fewer movies in Tollywood, but more money

Share

baahubali-torelease759

Hyderabad: Tollywood produced fewer films in 2015 than 2014 but made more money. According to official statistics, 258 celluloid films were certified by the Central Board of Film Certification in 2015. In 2014 it was 280. The number of short films including trailers and advertisements was 767 in 2015 as against 792 in 2014, and video films were 97 in 2015 as against 158 in 2014. Industry experts say that there were also many films that did not reach the censor stage and those that were censored but not released. Veteran filmmaker Thammareddy Bharadwaja said, “Out of films that are censored, around 15 to 20 per cent are not released. For quality films there are always buyers. The filmmakers should know for what purpose they are making the films.”

When it is about business, buyers will only go for good ones, which can get collections. Non-entity films like Rajugari Gadhi, Jatha Kalise and Cinema Chupista Mama did well. We can’t blame the theatres as how many films in 365 days can they screen?,” he asked. He added, “Shooting started and stopped midway for around 40 per cent of films whose titles were registered with the chamber. Films like Baahubali definitely brought about changes in the making style but at the same time buyers bought other films for high prices and they are now in the doldrums.” He also said that the number of dubbed films had gone down in Tollywood.Out of 258 films censored, 175 Telugu films released in 2015 and the industry saw approximately `2,000 crore gross business, with a good success rate.

The good thing was that apart from the big films like Baahubali and Srimanthudu, small films also became big grossers. In 2014, nearly 200 films released with a budget of `2,000 crore. But in the end only eight per cent of the films did business at the box-office and the industry lost nearly `1,500 crore. Allu Arjun’s Race Gurram, Balakrishna’s Legend and Nagarjuna’s Manam had crossed the `50 crore mark in 2014. The theatres are mostly managed by a few people in Telangana like Dil Raju, Chiranjeevi’s family and Asian Cinema.

Recently even actor Nagarjuna had to work very hard to get his new film Soggade Chinni Nayana screened in theatres.
