New USB peripheral, non-touch sensitive laptops
Mumbai: A US-based company has developed a slim USB peripheral that converts you non-touch sensitive laptop into a touch-receptive one, using an “invisible light field”. The AirBar developed by Neonode attaches to the bezel of a laptop and once plugged into a USB port, the device covers the laptop’s display with an ‘invisible light field’, which the company refers to as zForce Air Technology.
Although similar infrared technologies have surfaced in the past, the company claims that this is one of the most advanced yet, and the AirBar is also relatively cheaper at just $50. Additionally, the device does not require any special software to work.
Currently, the device supports any Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 machines, and even Chromebooks. The company is still working on Mac support. And what makes this device cooler is the fact that you can use anything to operate the touch screen—from thick gloves to chopsticks – everything works. However, the device only supports 15.6-inch laptop screens, which significantly reduces its scope. So if you have an attuned laptop, you can pre-order one for just $49 and enjoy touch experience on your laptops.
Trump slides in polls but rhetoric is on
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump continues with his characteristic rhetoric, which is a mix of diatribe against Muslims and immigrants, and contempt for opponents and media, but Texas Senator Ted Cruz is close on his heels in the race for Republican nomination for the U.S. presidential election. Only 28 per cent Republicans support Mr. Trump now, down from his earlier position of above 40 per cent while Mr. Cruze has the support of 24 per cent. The CBS poll also shows Mr. Trump trailing the Democratic presidential aspirants Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders by a huge margin.
But all this, and the protests by a handful of youths, did not dampen Mr. Trump and his supporters in Michigan, home to the U.S automobile industry, where he addressed a gathering on Monday. Mr. Trump reiterated the mutual admiration he and Russian President Vladimir Putin have found for each other. “He can’t stand Obama, Obama can’t stand him. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could get along?,” Mr. Trump said. “It would be so great if we could get the Russians on our side and other countries on our side and knock the hell out of ISIS (Islamic State).” Mr. Putin had last week described Mr. Trump as “brilliant”.
Demands apology Mr. Trump also repeated his demand for an apology from Ms. Clinton for stating that the IS was using the videos of his anti-Muslim speeches for recruiting more jihadists. The Clinton campaign had already rejected the demand. Mr. Trump said he has hardly spent any money to stay on top of the race while opponent Jeb Bush has “spent millions of dollars on negative ads about me”. He added: “The person that has spent the least by far is Donald Trump. I’m $35 million under budget.” Mr. Trump has stayed in the headlines with his controversial statements, without spending money on advertisements.
On Monday, he repeated most of those. “We have to build a wall [on the U.S. border with Mexico]. It’s going to be a great wall. They’re going to call it the Trump Wall,” he said. Mr. Trump said he would take punitive action against auto manufacturer Ford for relocating their facilities from Michigan to Mexico. “I support fair trade, but we can’t be stupid traders,” he said. Earlier on Monday, President Barack Obama had in an interview broadcast on National Public Radio said Mr. Trump was taking advantage of the anger among blue collar workers.
“Blue-collar men have had a lot of trouble in this new economy, where they are no longer getting the same bargain that they got when they were going to a factory and able to support their families on a single paycheck,” the President said.
U.S. places Indian Lion in endangered species list
The United States will place a breed of lion found in India and Africa in the endangered species list in a bid to curb the dramatic decline of their population. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has said it will list Panthera leo leo (a subspecies of lion) located in India and western and central Africa as endangered, and Panthera leo melanochaita, located in eastern and southern Africa, will be listed as threatened.
“Planet’s most beloved species” “The lion is one of the planet’s most beloved species and an irreplaceable part of our shared global heritage,” said Dan Ashe, Director of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. “If we want to ensure that healthy lion populations continue to roam the African savannas and forests of India, it is up to all of us — not just the people of Africa and India — to take action,” he said. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said the new scientific research had concluded that the western and central populations of African lion were more genetically related to the Asiatic lion.
These lions are now considered the same subspecies, Panthera leo leo. Just 1,400 of them remain “There are only about 1,400 of these lions remaining, 900 in 14 African populations and 523 in India. Considering the size and distribution of the populations, population trends and the severity of the threats, the Service has found that this subspecies meets the definition of endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA),” a statement by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said.
The other subspecies of Panthera leo melanochaita likely numbers between 17,000 and19,000 and is found across southern and eastern Africa. The U.S. determined that this subspecies is less vulnerable and is not currently in danger of extinction. 43 p.c. dip in 20 years In the last 20 years, lion populations have declined by 43 per cent due to habitat loss, loss of prey base and retaliatory killing of lions by a growing human population. Coupled with inadequate financial and other resources for countries to effectively manage protected areas, the impact on lions in the wild has been substantial.
The order issued in this regard, which aligns with U.S. President Barack Obama’s National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking, will ensure that violators of wildlife laws are not subsequently granted permits for future wildlife-related activities, including the import of sport-hunted trophies. With an endangered listing, imports of Panthera leo leo will generally be prohibited, except in certain cases, such as when it can be found that the import will enhance the survival of the species. Final lion rule to be in force on Jan. 22 The final lion rule will be published in the Federal Register on December 23, 2015, and will go into effect 30 days after publication on January 22, 2016.
Liverpool Lady Quotes 2 Cr For Raviteja
Couple of days back it has emerged that heroine Amy Jackson is being considered for the lead role opposite Mass Raja Raviteja and the response so far from her is positive.
Except Samantha, all of present generations top starlets like Shruti Haasan, Tamanna, Kajal, Rakul Preet and others have acted opposite this mass hero. So, he has to rope in Samantha or should call others. That’s why, Amy is felt as the best option. For upcoming movie of newcomer Chakri, under the direction of KL Damodara Prasad who made films like “Ala Modalaindi” and “Kalyana Vaibhogame”, Amy is being considered as the female lead.
Highly placed sources revealed that this Miss Liverpool has quoted 2 crores to sign the film. Earlier when she was brought in for Ram Charan’s Yevadu, way back in 2013, this cute girl charged a mere 25 lakhs.
Probably her stint opposite biggies like Vikram, Akshay Kumar and now with Rajnikanth has made her the costliest.Meanwhile, Raviteja’s producer is said to be keen to rope Amy in, even at such exorbitant price.
Chandrababu, Don’t Over React!
Ever since Chandrababu Naidu is back in the saddle of CM chair after sitting in the Opposition for 10-long years, Naidu seems to have changed a lot compared to his previous terms. But the change is not totally for good. This is what irking Naidu’s well-wishers.
Chandrababu, who used to be very strict earlier, now become a bit liberal. Be it party people or leaders or government officials, Naidu didn’t spare anyone whoever commits mistakes during his previous tenure. But after back to power, he decided to go slow on party leaders, government officials. Also, Naidu wants to prove that he is totally committed towards the state activities and for this he is getting involved in almost all the things. While few earned him good name, few have backfired.
Especially, the recent ‘Call Money’ scandal that got unfolded, put Naidu on spot. Naidu directly reacting said to have backfired. Due to Naidu’s involvement and repeated statements that no one would be spared irrespective of party or position, this led cops to go strict on all the financiers who are lending money. This in turn affected both the genuine financiers, money debtors on whole. In several places, police started harassing financiers this led financiers turning against Naidu and his government.
Many political analysts opined that Naidu shouldn’t have reacted as the law will take its own course. For example, take the case of B Mohan Reddy, an assistant sub inspector of police in Telangana who was arrested on charges of disproportionate assets case as he amassed hundreds of crores of assets. Neither KCR nor his ministers didn’t issue a statement and but his government acted well on him.
At the same time, ‘Call Money’ too is not something that is there in the new state of AP. It’s been there for a while and even existed before the bifurcation of the state. So, Naidu should have had handled it well rather than directly reacting on it. Few media which was in favour of Naidu too pointed the same and it was brought to Naidu’s notice.
It’s heard that Chandrababu too felt the same and decided to not to over-react from now on wards.
Akhil, What’s Your Second Movie?
Which way Akkineni Akhil has to go for the second film? With a failure debut in the name of socio fantasy subject ‘Akhil,’ what will be the next genre the young guy is going to pick up? While Akkineni Fans requested Akhil to go in for a light hearted youthful romantic entertainer something like what his elder brother Naga Chaitanya does with ‘Ye Maya Chesave,’ others requested him to try something with high intensity characterization.
Thus are the names of Trivikram Srinivas, Deva Katta and many more bought into the queue. As per the market buzz, Akhil is still in a confusion mode but hearing to scripts in various genres. A final decision will be taken only in the next year when Nagarjuna gets free from ‘Oopiri’ and ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ commitments so that entire time can be spent on designing the second for younger son.
Everything depends on the strength in story, script and name of the director going to handle the venture. Nagarjuna does not want to take any chance this time and doesn’t even mind waiting for one more year until they get enough confidence on a director and script.
