A city civil court in Hyderabad today took up the case of writer Sharat Chandra who says the story of “Srimanthudu” was copied from his novel.

He has been making these allegations for some time and he has now moved to court and City Civil Court accepted case and sent notices to director Koratala Siva and producers of the movie. The notice was also sent to Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan.

Sharat Chandra alleged that the movie was based on his novel “Chachentha Prema” that was published in Swathi magazine as series.

“I came to know that Srimanthudu is now being planned to be remade in Hindi with Hrithik Roshan. I am requesting court to give a stay on the remake efforts till the case is resolved,” Sharat Chandra asked the court through his lawyers. And the court sent notices to the makers and Hrithik. The next hearing will come on March 4th.

Koratala Siva earlier denied the charges of copying or stealing the story from this novel.

With no big releases around and the recent releases failing to keep the theaters occupied, producers of low budget movies are using this as an opportunity to cash in on.

Eight new films are releasing today and the number goes up if we include the dubbed ones. Although multiple releases every Friday has become a norm lately, eight releases on a day is some sort of a record for sure.

Thanks to its aggressive marketing strategy, Kshanam featuring Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma is making more noise than the other new releases.

Padesave is the other film that is making some buzz because of Nagarjuna’s support. There is Eluka Majaka starring Vennela Kishore and Brahmanandam in the lead roles. This is veteran filmmaker Relangi Narasimharao’s 75th film it seems.

Srikanth’s Terror, a mandatory horror comedy Veeri veeri Gummadi Pandu, low budget films like Rajugarintlo edava roju, Appudala Ippudila and Ammayi Gola Srikrishna Leela are trying out their luck today.

Let’s see which movie stands out to be the best among these.

Kavitha Pampering Modi: Any LucK?

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP from Nizamabad Kalvakuntla Kavitha is going all out to pamper Prime Minister Narendra Modi these days, with an obvious intention of getting into the Union Cabinet, while the TRS party leaders back home are expressing dissatisfaction over the ill-treatment meted out to the State.

The latest tweets by Kavitha praising Modi and Railway budget have raised many an eyebrow. On Railway budget, Kavitha tweeted: “70 crs. for peddapalli-nizamabad railway line allocated in the railway budget. Bodhan-Bidar railway line approved. Thank U @sureshpprabhu Ji”

“Last time we got 140 crs. This is the last leg of allocation which will help the project to hit the finish line.”

And on Modi, Kavitha tweeted: “Thank You @narendramodi Ji for releasing Rs 450 crores as Special Assistance for 9 backward districts of Telangana.”

Her tweets are in sharp contrast to the statements given by the TRS ministers who accused the Centre of doing injustice with Telangana in the Railway Budget.

Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy said the Centre should allocate more funds in supplementary budget for completion of ongoing and pending railway projects in Telangana State.

Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna said that the Centre has completely neglected Adilabad district in the Railway Budget. Not a single project has been announced to increase Adilabad’s connective with State capital and no new line has been sanctioned. He said not a single suggestion given by the State Government has been accepted.

Does it not sound ridiculous?

No clarity on what would be Allu Arjun’s next film and who would direct him once he completes the shoot of Boyapati’s “Sarrainodu”.

There were reports that Trivikram might direct Allu Arjun again as he would also be free since he will be releasing his “A…Aa” starring Nithin and Samantha in April.

Sources close to Trivikram say he has not given any assurance to Allu Arjun though proposal came from Bunny.

Trivikram has made a commitment to Tamil superstar Suriya. The combination of Trivikram and Suriya will materialize once Suriya completes the shooting of Singam 3.

Allu Arjun will be doing a movie for Manam director Vikram Kumar from October this year. In the mean time, he wants to do a quick film. Since Trivikram has not given any confirmation, Allu Arjun is reportedly looking for other choices too.

The shooting of “Sarrainodu” will be completed in the third week of March.

Did Balayya Ruin Siddharth’s Career?

Siddharth who once had a rousing career in Tollywood is nowhere seen in the industry today. He is restricted to the Tamil industry.

He has not had any disastrous runs at the box-office then why are producers not considering him anymore? Some people feel that Siddharth happens to be an outspoken person and the Telugu media was not happy with his comments against them.

Later Dil Raju brokered a peace between the media and Siddharth. But what is the actual reason behind his disappearance from Tollywood.

According to rumors floating in the industry, the reason could be Balakrishna Nandamuri. Siddharth had apparently commented at the audio launch of one of his films ‘180’ that Tamil directors were better than Telugu directors or that there were no path-breaking films or directors in Telugu. Anyway, it was something to that effect.

Balayya reportedly heard of this and called up Siddharth and warned him against making such remarks again. Balayya himself revealed this incident at an event but did not name the hero. But the media misinterpreted this and thought Balayya was referring to Ram Charan.

Another thing that might have worked against Siddharth is that he was very close to Junior NTR. “Junior NTR is the best dancer in India,” remarked Sidharth once. This friendship was obviously not to Balayya’s liking.

So, that’s the latest gossip from the industry folks! Did Balayya have a hand in Siddharth’s disappearance from Tollywood?

The hottest gossip in the industry is that megastar Chiranjeevi reportedly is not pleased with his nephew Sai Dharam Tej as he is using all hit songs of Chiru’s old movies.

Sai Dharam has remixed “Golimaar” and “Guvva Gorika” songs already. Next Sai Dharam will be dancing in the remix song of “Andam Hindolam” in “Supreme” which is on the sets right now.

According to buzz in Tollywood, Chiranjeevi conveyed his displeasure with Sai Dharam and told him to refrain from remixing all of his old songs in every other film.

This is the reason why Sai Dharam made his PR team to deny the news that “Gang Leader” title is being considered for Sai Dharam’s next movie in the direction of Gopichand Malineni.
