No Sentiments For KCR
Following the untimely death of MLA Kishta Reddy (Congress) due to a heart attack last year, his constituency of Narayankhed in Sangareddy has fallen vacant. The election commission has now announced that the by-election will be held on February 13. Normally, the tradition is that when a sitting MLA dies, then the party to which he belonged would get an opportunity to get its candidate elected unanimously.
But KCR has said that the TRS would contest the by poll, forcing the hand of the TDP as well. This may be a wise decision by KCR but is it the right thing to do? As the TRS already has a majority in the Assembly, does it need to contest this by poll as well? If he goes about things this way, KCR will end up making more enemies than he can handle in future.
Everything seems hunky dory when the going’s good, but when the bad time starts, it tends o be a windfall of calamities.
Know How Many Gods Balakrishna Worships?
How many gods does Balakrishna worship? He answered this question himself in a recent promotional interview ahead of Dictator’s release. While Balayya Babu is a great believer in Muhurtam and Vastu and factors them in every move of his, nothing much is known about his spiritualism.
He said his father NTR never used to spend much time on poojas and worship. Before going out on a shoot, NTR used to simply fold his hands and close his eyes before the image of Lord Venkateswara. On occasional Mondays, NTR used to perform Abhishekam to Lord Siva. But, when it comes to Balayya Babu, worship takes at least a hour and half. He worships Saraswati, Durga, Lakshmi and Parvathi as he was born in Moola Nakshatram.
He also likes to worship Hanuman, Subramanya and Narasimha Swami. Of course, Lord Venkateswara is worshiped by everyone in the NTR family and even Balakrishna is no exception. Everyone knows how he goes around the Narasimha temples in the state if his film does well. Let’s see if he undertakes a tour of Narasimha temples in both the Telugu states with Dictator’s result.
Jaya Puts Modi In A Spot
Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha has cleverly put the NDA government and Modi in a spot of bother over the Jalikattu issue. It is known that the Supreme Court has given a stay order on Jalikattu despite the Center according permission for the same. Now Jayalalitha wants the center to pass an ordinance permitting Jalikattu thereby paving the route for it.
If the Modi government goes to the extreme of passing an ordinance, they will be criticized for having mocked a Supreme Court judgement. Besides, it will be Jayalalitha who will walk away with the credit. On the other hand, if they don’t, then their attempts to strengthen themselves down South in states, like Tamil Nadu and AP will receive a setback.
Jayalalitha can always play to the gallery saying that the NDA was responsible for Jalikattu not being allowed. Either way, she wins! It’s like giving special status to AP. If they do, Naidu will walk away with the credit, if they don’t, then Naidu can use it against them.
Yuvi, Harbhajan In 45,000 Cr Scam?
Ace cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh might land into legal brawl as the CBI is preparing the list of celebrities including film stars and cricketers, who were showered with gifts from Peals Group.
Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, who is MD of the firm, and three others were handcuffed by CBI last week in connection to 45,000 crore Ponzi scam. Bhangoo and others have been accused of cheating investors. Ponzi means a fraud wherein faith in the success of non-existing firm is fostered by payment of returns to initial investors from the money collected from other investors.
Yuvraj and Harbhajan reportedly gained Mohali plots as gifts from the fraudulent firm. The plots are expected to be seized by Enforcement Directorate and CBI. Brett Lee, Australian cricketer, was made as brand ambassador of the Ponzi company to gain interests from overseas. Earlier in 2011, Pearls Group had sponsored India-West Indies ODI series.

Much to the shock of everyone, reports say that Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif invited underworld don and most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim to his grand daughter wedding party, to which our prime minister Narendra Modi too attended a day ahead!

NTR-Sukumar combo flick Nannaku Prematho was premiered in over 70 locations in US and other places on Tuesday night and raked in $346000. Nannaku Prematho Wednesday collected $170K from 113 locations.
This is definitely a good news and shows how overseas Telugus lapped up Nannaku Prematho. According to trade pundits,the film is likely to touch $ 1.5 million by this weekend. The NTR starrer managed to generate massive enthusiasm in both the Telugu states and overseas.
The film opened to massive advance bookings which opened six days before the release. Worldwide Telugu audience too seems to have fallen for NTR’s charm and Sukumar’s skilled mindgame.
YSRC goes Jana Sena way, opts out of GHMC polls
Unmindful of pressure from local leaders to contest at least 10 seats if not many out of 150 GHMC seats going to polls on Feb 2, YSR Congress Party Chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy today decided not to contest.
Probably the YCP walked out of the poll fray to extend indirect support to the TRS and oppose its rival of Telugu Desam which has truck with the BJP. The YSRC announced its withdrawal from the civic poll fray as its focus is on strengthening itself in the GHMC limits. According to reliable sources, Jagan curtly refused to contest. Though the YCP had an idea to field its candidates, Warangal byepoll result, poor strength in the twin cities, have forced it to abstain from the contest.
Also it is said that the YSRC is offering indirect support to the ruling party, as was being propagated by the Congress and other parties. Party’s Telangnaa chief Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that they need to strengthen the party first. He also alleged that the ruling TRS, Telugu Desam and BJP combine and Congress are taking the polls as prestigious and ready to spend huge money to win the polls.
The TRS did not contest 2009 civic polls and now trying its best to defeat others to get power in the civic body, Srinivas Reddy said. “We will fight for the cause of the people and focus on strengthening the party at all the wards,” he said. He also recalled that the then Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy made efforts for Telangana development and implemented many welfare schemes like fees reimbursement, free power to agriculture and 108 ambulance services at a phone call away.
“We will develop our party with rank and file from grass-root level to become a major political party in Telangana in future”, he added.
Mahesh’s Voice Over for Dad’s Movie
Prince Mahesh is all set to lend his voice for his dad Superstar Krishna’s film. According to the reports, Krishna dons greasepaint after a long time, for a movie titled ‘Sri Sri’. Muppalaneni Siva is directing this film. Vijayanirmala plays a crucial role in this film.
Initially, Mahesh was asked to sport a cameo role in the film. Having ruled out the proposal of the makers, Mahesh assured them to lend his voice for the movie. Not just that, he has given his nod to participate in movie’s promotions. The movie will be releasing in the month of February.
Meanwhile, Mahesh’s new film ‘Brahmotsavam’ is currently on sets. Kajal, Samantha and Pranitha are romancing with Mahesh in this family entertainer. Micky J Meyer composes the music of the film. Srikanth Addala has directed this movie on PVP Cinema. The movie is scheduled for release on April 29.
Contraption’ Concept in ‘Naannaku Prematho’
An interesting game in the title cards of ‘Naannaku Premtho’ captivated the audience. The machine that looked strange in these title cards is called ‘Contraption’. Interestingly, the same ‘Contraption’ technique was used in one of the action sequences of the movie, wherein hero rescues the heroine from abductors. Apart from ‘Contraption’, applications of light and viscosity principles of Physics were used in designing the fight sequence.
Meanwhile, Young Tiger NTR was seen in a complete makeover with a different style of hair and beard. Touted to be the stylish action entertainer, the movie has Rakul Preet Singh in female lead role.
Although ‘Naannaku Prematho’ was released in record number of screens across the globe, the number is likely to register a drastic fall today, since Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Dictator’ and Sharwanand’s ‘Express Raja’ are hitting the screens today. Balayya Won’t Even Wait For Boyapati
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s most eagerly awaited 99th film Dictator has finally hit the screens this morning. Balayya fans caught the early morning benefit shows in several areas. Balayya will promote the film till today before he leaves for Nara Vari Palle for his grandson Nara Devaansh’s first Sankranthi celebrations.
With Dictator hitting the screens finally, all the fans’ attention will be diverted to Balayya’s landmark 100th film after a few days. In his latest interview, Balayya revealed that script discussions have been going on for his 100th film and that everything will be finalised soon and the film will go on floors in March.
Now, there have been numerous talks that Balayya’s 100th will be directed by his Simha and Legend director Boyapati Srinu. When asked about it, Balayya said that the film will materialise if Boyapati gets ready with the script by March. “If Boyapati takes 4, 5 months to prepare the script, I will move ahead with another director. I won’t wait that long,” said Balayya.
Nag Unhappy With The Sankranthi Clash
Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana is set for a grand release on the occasion of Sankranthi tomorrow amidst humongous expectations. The film kickstarted its shooting way back in January last year and Nag initially planned to release the film for Dasara last year.
But delay in the shoots and Akhil’s debut film’s release made Nag to wait for the right time to release Soggade as a Sankranthi treat.
As usual, even this Sankranthi season witnesses an intense box-office clash, as Soggade Chinni Nayana is competing with NTR’s Nannaku Prematho and Balayya’s Dictator.
In his latest interview, Nag said that it is unfortunate that too many films are releasing during the festive season, as audiences may not be able to watch all the films even though they get a hit talk.
Nag also said that even the box-office collections have to be shared heavily among the films. However, Nag, always a practical man, says that one cannot escape from the Sankranthi clashes even in the future.
Superstar takes away ‘Kaththi’ Remake!
Ofcourse Megastar Chiranjeevi is taking it Kaththi remake in Telugu but Superstar Akshay Kumar will likely take the lead in Hindi remake of the film which stormed the box office in Tamil. AR Murugadoss’s Kaththi is an action drama flick.
While the final decision is yet to be made from Akshay’s end, in an interview he revealed that he was looking forward and was thinking to take the opportunity. The shooting dates and details will be decided soon. Khiladi star has already worked with Murugadoss in ‘Holiday.’
Kaththi brings the issues of farmer suicides to the fore. Though there were few other Bollywood star names heard for Kaththi remake in Hindi, Akshay Kumar seems to have taken it away. Akshay will next be seen on the silver screens in ‘Airlift,’ directed by Raja Krishna Menon. ‘Airlift’ is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 22.
When Akshay made Nimrat Kaur nervous
Mumbai: One film old actress Nimrat Kaur, who will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in the forthcoming film “Airlift”, says she was initially nervous to work with the action star.
“I was very intimidated to work with him before I met him. Naturally, anybody would be. But, it takes a few seconds. Then everything is so normal. We had a great time working in this film. I got to learn a lot from him.
“I am a one-film-old actress and for me, to get such a big film… I am really thankful to him,” Nimrat told reporters in a group interview. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, “Airlift” will hit the screens on January 22. The film is based on the evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war.
“The material was very interesting which prompted me to sign this film. How I relate to the character was important for me. We have a genuine relationship in this film. It feels great to be a part of such a wonderful project,” she said.
