Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra has turned down an offer to host a cooking show on a leading food channel. Cashing in on the popularity of Shilpa’s book “The Great Indian Diet”, the channel producers approached the 40-year-old actress to host the show, which would be based on the principles and recipes included in her health and nutrition book. “I am really happy the book has done so well. I have received an interesting offer that was taking the concept of book ahead. I had to turn it down due to prior commitments.

I want to take the concept ahead on various platforms and encourage people to be fit and healthy,” Shilpa said in a statement here. The actress-turned-businesswoman did like the concept it required her to shoot in the end of this month. The “Dhadkan” star had to fulfill some of her other professional commitments before she took off with her family for their annual holiday. In the past, Shilpa has judged dance reality show “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa”, “Nach Baliye” and hosted second season of “Big Boss”.

Stop It!! Classics Getting Rusted

Kona Venkat took Shankarabaranam. Someone else made Sitara. Varun Sandesh used Lava Kusa. Allari Naresh has turned Bandipotu. Then, what was the result? Disaster is a small word with the kind of craze those titles enjoy in Telugu world. And our makers are not yet changing. When Allari Naresh took titles like Bandipotu and Yamudiki Mogudu, many wondered if he would break his flop streak and deliver a hit.

The Sudigaadu star however stunned audiences with yet another disastrous show. Even Varun Sandesh spoiled Lava Kusa in the same way with his crappy story of twins, while the classic is a story of Lord Rama’s sons.

Kona Venkat is no exception as he spoiled Mani Ratnam’s love tale Geethanjali with a horror content and then rusted K Viswanath’s awesome creation Shankarabaranam with his crap comedy.

Not stopping here, both Kona and RGV are now getting ready to grab the title Pathala Bhairavi, to make films of their choice under that title. Why spoiling classics in that way? Rather taking those titles and stuffing them with silly content, get some intriguing content on board with a fresh title.

The Size Zero debacle has not lessened the demand for Anushka. We hear the actress has been approached for yet another female-centric film, this time by director Krishna Vamsi for his fantasy thriller Rudraaksh, which will be produced by Dil Raju. “They narrated the story to Anushka and she liked it. More than the story, Anushka wants to act in a Krishna Vamsi film and it all depends on her dates.

The actress is busy with a couple of other projects like Baahubali 2 and Singam 3, so this project is still in discussion. She has not yet signed the contract,” says a source. The director is also looking for fresh faces as the script needs five young actors. Meanwhile, Anushka’s Singam 3 schedule in Vizag has been postponed due to the Chennai floods. “Many stars are busy helping with the flood relief so the film’s shooting has been postponed for a few weeks,” adds the source.

A picture of milk lady Radha delivering milk, despite heavy rainfall in Chennai, has been going viral on social platforms. The picture was posted on December 2nd morning and by the afternoon; Radha had become an internet celebrity. Radha is a certified vendor with Aavin – Tamil Nadu’s state milk cooperative – and has been in the milk-delivery business for 32 years now.

She never failed to deliver milk in these 32 years. Today, Radha doesn’t need the money. It helps, but she could stop if she wanted to. Her kids will take care of her. But she won’t stop. But why did she have to deliver milk that morning? It’s not the money, and her customers wouldn’t dare admonish her for not turning up.

“So many people dependent on me, how can I not go? And so much milk would go waste if I don’t deliver it,” she quips. On the morning of December 2, Radha went to Srividhya Apartments by 6AM, with 300 packets of milk.

She had braved chest-level waters to get the milk and bring it to her customers. Just the previous night, Chennai had received 30cm rainfall. As she was returning from the apartment complex, a resident Padma Ramani clicked a picture of her, and it was posted online. The tweet has got more than 3000 re-tweets and over 2000 likes.

Wireless double shot

bose sound system

Two years ago, in a major product bump-up, Bose untethered its signature sound systems and enabled them to be wirelessly connected to multiple music sources, using Wi-Fi. Meanwhile Blue was the new Black: makers of speakers for the burgeoning mobile market, did away with messy wires by making them Bluetooth-pairable with phones. Never one to concede leadership in the audio business, Bose has now combined Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in its new range of home music systems. The SoundTouch 10 is the first offering in this range with this wireless double whammy. Using Bluetooth, one can stream music stored on any compatible mobile phone, music player or tablet — or streamed from Internet radio stations.

Then Wi-Fi kicks in, letting you broadcast the music to other SoundTouch speakers in the house. The unit is small considering the volume and quality of music it belts out, weighing 1.87 kilos. In the Bose tradition of stark simplicity, the top has six buttons to select preset music sources or choices. All other functions including latching on to multiple sources are performed using a remote with the SoundTouch app. Those who have known and enjoyed the Bose quality earlier are unlikely to grudge at the asking price of Rs 19,013 for the Bose SoundTouch 10. Also released this week are larger units for bedroom or drawing room — the SoundTouch 20 and SoundTouch 30 Series III.

Mega Hero Turns A Director?

A guy or girl from Mega compound obviously means a hero or heroine is in the making. The big list of heroes from Mega camp have flooded the Tollywood only with Mega faces seen everywhere. For a change, there is most versatile Varun Tej who seems to have entered into cinema industry not with intention of becoming a hero but he dreamt of becoming a director. Yes, Varun said that he once had a plan to approach Puri Jagannath to work under him as Assistant Director. That was the kind of influence Puri had on present generation youngsters.

Of course, Puri is more of a hero material and less of a direction material. His movies raise high only on hero characterizations which no other director in India can do so. This could be the most fascinating factor which pulled Varun to work under Puri.Apparently, Varun Tej is a hero and fate made him to work as a hero with Puri on ‘Loafer’ releasing for this year end. Going by the passion Varun has towards films, why not he can try a hand with direction, something like what his Babai Pawan Kalyan did in the past.

The Regional Censor Board in Hyderabad had watched the Special screening of Varun Tej’s Loafer and cleared it with U/A certificate. The movie did not suffer any cuts as the makers did not opt for U certificate. With this the film is all set for a grand release on 17th of this month.

The audio of the film was released recently and the makers are gearing up for the Triple Platinum disk event on 14th. They are yet to finalize the location and venue. Bollywood model Disha Patani is playing the female lead in the film and it marks her Telugu debut.

Puri Jagannadh is wielding megaphone for this film. Loafer was extensively shot in Jaisalmer and Goa. Ram Gopal Varma was so impressed with the movie that he cut a trailer on mother for the movie. The mother song in this movie penned by Suddhala Ashok Teja is the major highlight of the film’s album composed by Sunil Kashyap.

Politician Turns TV Host For Money?

After severe poll drubbing in the general elections and losing his own seat, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, well-known as Lok Satta JP in political circles, is returning to Television. JP is going to host a TV show in a regional news channel (HMTV) and planning to get closer to the public. JP’s show is christened as Dasa Disa. Given that the channel’s claim to fame was ‘AP Dasa Disa’ which made it popular, the channel wants to revive the show with Dr JP by raising current social, political issues.

However, hosting a TV show isn’t first-time for JP. Earlier, Dr JP did host E TV’s famous Pratidhwani. JP did it very well in the past and the show got famous instantly. Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, who is a physician, former IAS and ex MLA from Kukatpally, is now mulling over to revive the party’s lost glory.

JP wants to conduct the show in an unbiased manner cutting across all political parties. He wants to keep aside the electoral politics, and likely to focus on what Telugu states need, what state governments should do, what’s the role of Centre. The channel management is making preparations to start the show in the third week of December. The first Dasa Disa show would be held in Vijayawada of the truncated state.

Meanwhile, JP’s detractors have already started calling his returning to TV as a moneymaking strategy to keep his party afloat in the current political scene. Since the last year’s general elections, JP has been mostly off from the political radar and even his Lok Satta Party ran out of its financial strengths completely. This new stint will also help JP raise donations for his party and buckle up for the 2019 elections, say his opponents.

One Lady’s Poster Behind Houseful Crowds

Have a look all over your town/city, what are the posters that are obstructing your thoughts and interfering with your visions? It’s definitely this hot lady’s posters that is getting solid response from all quarters.

Glamour queen Tamanna Bhatia is the lady we are talking about. As “Bengal Tiger” is scheduled for a release tomorrow (Dec 10th), almost all the towns are painted with hot posters of Tamanna and Mass Raja Raviteja. While Ravi’s form is little low at the moment, Tamanna’s charms are very hot now.

Looking at her in that white saree and tempting navel looks or that drenched look with rain drops shining over her slopes, youths are going mad. They are checking for release date and making sure they throng to theatres at any cost to catch up this glamour treat.

At least we have to say 30% of crowds for Bengal Tiger in the initial days will be fans of milky siren. That way, she will be responsible for houseful crowds for next few days.

He Lost Crores on Anushka!

pvp

Producer PVP has lost crores on ‘Jejamma’ Anushka Shetty. With two of his production ventures featuring Anushka – Size Zero and Varna – tanked without a trace, the entrepreneur lost a whopping amount on the Arundhati star. Interestingly, both Varna and Size Zero have Anushka, Arya in the lead roles and Anushka was the face for both films and both were bilinguals.

After delivering a success with Balupu, nothing seems to be working in favour of PVP it seems. However, he has pipeline of big-ticket films which look hopeful. Of all, Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam is expected to overturn PVP’s fortunes in the tinsel ville.

Considering that Mahesh is riding high with Srimanthudu success, and he teaming up with Srikanth Addala again after superhit Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, trade wise, Brahmotsavam is in good books. PVP is pinning high hopes on Mahesh.
