In yet another shocking grief to the film fraternity, Tamil actor and socialite Prabhu Lakshman, popularly known as ‘Buddy’ in the film and Chennai social circles, passed away this afternoon following a cardiac arrest. Prabhu Lakshman played the role of Dulquer Salmaan’s best friend Buddy in Mani Ratnam’s summer hit OK Bangaram. Buddy is survived by his wife Dheepa and three children.

Prabhu Lakshman was loved by everyone in the Tamil film and social circles. He was a kindhearted and fun loving person and always loved to make friends. Buddy was also a family friend of Mani Ratnam and Suhasini. He was a trustee and co-chairman of a popular educational institution in Dindigul, Chennai.

Tamil film and media circles have expressed huge shock over the sudden demise of Buddy and Dulquer took to Twitter and said, “Shocked to hear about buddy Prabhu’s sudden and untimely passing. Was truly a buddy to me & everyone he met. Chennais lost its best buddy” Buddy’s last rights will be performed in Dindigul on 6th November.

Handsome Akkineni hero Akhil’s debut film ‘Akhil’ will be released within a week’s time. The young lad is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a memorable launch pad for his career. Akhil has been aggressively promoting his debut film since the film’s shoot entered its last leg. He even did a whirlwind 3-day promotional tour in the US and released the film’s audio album in three American cities, which no Telugu film’s unit has done so far.

However, after several rounds of TV and print media interviews, came a sudden halt to the promotions with the film’s postponement and there has been a long silence about the film. Now that the film is back on track, Akhil is again back to promotions and he will soon organize a promotional tour in Warangal and Vizag, covering both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Not stopping here, Akhil has chosen an innovative way to promote the film on social networking giant Facebook.

For the last few of days, release day posters and stills from Akhil movie have been splashing on the walls of Facebook users. All these ads are sponsored by Akhil’s official Facebook page. Naturally, these are paid ads and Akhil must be shelling out a bomb to Facebook to utilize the wall space. No doubt that this new trend will add further more noise to the already growing hype for the film.

Both Varun Tej and his sister Niharika Konidela have confirmed that their whole khandan has blessed the latter to become a heroine. The Kanche star confirmed earlier that it’s uncle Chiranjeevi who first encouraged his sister to pursue her love for acting. As per insider reports, we’re hearing another angle about the ‘mega’ absence. “Actually a mega event is planned to launch Niharika. But that will surely raise the expectations bar on the young lady, thereby creating fears that any slight mismatch would result in a flop.

Prabhas will have to devote entire year for the shooting of Baahubali going by the details of the shooting schedule planned for the movie. Exactly 190 working days have been allotted for the movie’s shooting. Even if the unit takes short breaks in between for every 10 or 20 days schedule, Prabhas have to be present for nearly 10 months for the movie.

Prabhas will now be completely busy with Baahubali 2 during the entire period of 2016 and won’t do any other movie contrary to the reports. There was news that he may launch his next film in July 2016 but that is not true say the sources close to Baahubali 2. Rajamouli has decided to make the movie on bigger scale with highest budget ever for an Indian movie, almost double the amount of Baahubali part 1 will be spent on this sequel.

Additional characters have been created in this second part and new actors from South Indian industry and Bollywood will be joining the Baahubali cast members. Produced by Arca Media, Baahubali 2 will commence its regular shoot from December 2015 and is expected to wrap up by December 2016. The movie is likely to hit the screens in early 2017.

Mumbai: The glossy journey of Sooraj Barjatya’s highly anticipated ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ met with a rough patch. Apparently, the film’s Telugu version, which has been titled ‘Prem Leela’, has got into a pothole, as the title is not in-sync with the censor rules for dubbed films down south.A close source from the censor board says, “The title of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ in Telugu has been kept as ‘Prem Leela’. The two titles mean completely different things.

“As per guidelines the title of a dubbed film must convey the same meaning as the original title. If not, then the producers must apply for permission to use a different title for the dubbed version of a film. The producers of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ have not applied for permission to use a different title in Telugu.”

Currently, the Telugu version of the film is uncertified due to unsuited dubbed title. While the nation is eagerly waiting for this family saga, it will be interesting to see whether ‘PRDP’ gets a green signal in this Telugu title war or not?

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s latest movie “Dictator” is very much on the target. Whether other Sankranthi releases like Nannaku Prematho and possibly Sardaar Gabbar Singh may make it or not, but this senior Nandamuri star is pakka. Here’s how.

After wrapping a specially composed fight at a bar in Hyderabad, total action sequences of “Dictator” got completed. The unit will be moving to Delhi now to complete the final talkie part. After shooting there for a week, they will be wrapping up little patch work in Hyderabad, thereby bringing the total production to an end.

As songs shooting is almost done, Dictator first copy will be ready by mid-December. In that case, it’s just promotions that will be pending as Balayya will be ready to hit screens at any give time. For Sankranthi eve, this makes Dictator a sure shot release, while others need to speed up their shoots in case they want to catch up with the dates.

Music composer GV Prakash who enthralled us with his songs in movies likes Prabhas’ Darling and Ram’s Endukante Premanta has turned to acting has hit Telugu tinsel town today with “Trisha Leda Nayantara”. As this film is success in Kollywood, the talented youngster is anticipating the same here.

There is a direct saying of the word ‘Erri ****’ on silver screen in the movie “Trisha Leda Nayantara”. In a scene that takes places in a flour mill our hero uses this cuss word and we wonder how come Censor Board gave permission to use it. In another scene when a friend asks to describe their friendship, hero uses another rude cuss word.

It sounded completely vulgar and worst. Yet another scene is here to give a toast of the film. There is a happening where hero brings sanitary napkins for heroine, and this is little awkward to accept due to the way it is conceived.

While it might sound realistic, rugged and raw, all these scenes somehow are not acceptable for Telugu audiences, even in mass centres. Those who watched the film are saying, ‘What the f*** is this? Why GV Prakash is spoiling his name?’ While GV’s acting skills are commendable, this vulgarity is unbearable.

Mumbai: Actor Ranveer Singh feels his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone looks hotter with him than her ex flame Ranbir Kapoor.Deepika’s on-screen chemistry with both Ranbir and Ranveer enjoys a separate fan following.

Recently at a promotional event of ‘Tamasha’, when Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar asked Deepika who she looks hotter with (on screen) – Ranbir or Ranveer – she played it safe and choose not to name any of the two. When the same question was asked to Ranveer – who does Deepika look hotter with, he says, “Obviously me… Yeh koi sawal hua (Is this even a question?).”

After touching on the ‘looks’ subject, journalist took things a step further and asked the actor if he ‘loved’ Deepika off screen as well. At the ‘Bajirao’ poster launch, Ranveer was left battling for words when he managed to say, “Bajirao and Mastani were real individuals, who were in love… We are playing out their story on screen.” Rumours that the duo has been dating since they starred together in 2013’s love saga ‘Ram Leela’ have yet to be confirmed by the two. Deepika, 29, has teamed up with Ranbir, 33, for Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’ that releases later this month.

An online survey had claimed that Ranbir-Deepika would be Bollywood’s most iconic on screen couple after Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol. Ranveer, however, does not find the comparison between the two couples “right”. “Shah Rukh and Kajol are Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, while Ranbir and Deepika are Ranbir and Deepika. Each pairing has its own charm, appeal and its own legacy. I don’t think it is right to compare the actors or pairing of actors,” he said.

Trisha is all set for the release of Cheekati Rajyam. Apart from acting with Kamal Haasan, the film will be special for Trisha as the film marks her 50th film.Cheekati Rajyam or Toongavanam will be the 50th film in her long and impressive career, where she has mostly had hits in Telugu, Tamil and now in Kannada.

Though the industry has seen many top heroines, most of them do a couple of films and take a break. Some continue to do a good number of films, but doing 50 films in today’s times is indeed a rare feat. Though she has had some ups and downs in the last couple of years, she stuck around and she has managed to complete the number.
