Post the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Tollywood is evincing special care towards the newly formed Telugu state of  Telangana. Thanks to the initiatives taken up by the state’s young minister of IT and Panchayat Raj KTR, Tollywood stars like Mahesh Babu, Prakash Raj and Aditya Om have already adopted a village each in Telangana.

Now, yesteryear hero and now a star character artiste Suman adopted the Suddapally village in Madgula Manal in Magabubnagar, Telangana. Suman has always been close to the TRS party and he was one of the very few Tollywood stars who supported the separate Telangana demand in the peak of protests a couple of years ago.

Suman’s main agenda for Suddapally village will be providing pot drinking water facilities and sanitary amenities to the villagers apart from the village modification. Just like Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj, Suman will also interact with the local administrative officials to discuss the possibilities of various beautification measures.

After the release of Lingaa, fans of Superstar Rajinikanth were in utter grief over the back-to-back disasters of Kochadaiiyaan and Lingaa. Many thought that Rajini has lost the judgment in choosing the right script. Keeping aside all the setbacks, Rajini okayed young director PA Ranjith’s Kabali. Rajini will play a don in the film and the hype is back on the project.

But going by the record pre-release business for Kabali, one can easily estimate that the successive disasters of Rajini’s last two films have not made even an ounce of adverse affect on Kabali. As per the reports from the Tamil trade analysts, the producer of Kabali, Kalaipuli S Thanu, is minting money by selling Kabali’s overseas rights at never seen before astronomical rates.

Apaprently, Kabali was sold for highest ever prices in USA, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. Incidentally, all the rates offered are nearly 50% higher than Lingaa, showing Rajini’s mania. In Malaysia where the Superstar was received with royal honors, Kabali is sold for 11 crore as against Lingaa which was sold for 7.3 crore. The USA rights of Kabali fetched 9 crore (Lingaa 7.1 cr). To compare, Baahubali final run share I the US was around 9 crore.

The Australia and New Zealand together fetched 1.8 crore (Lingaa 1.2 cr). All the deals include both the Telugu and Tamil versions of Kabali and the producer is looking to strike an overall overseas deal to the tune of 40 crore.

Anasuya Bharadwaj’s entry onto big screen has enough of exciting twists. As we all know, the most popular TV show anchor and host for cinema related events has got a call from Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram Srinivas in early career days to dance on special song in ‘Aththarintiki Daaredi.’ However, Anasuya denied the offer on different grounds and her cine entry wasn’t properly locked from there on.

Now, Anasuya agreed to become a part of Nagarjuna’s upcoming movie ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ playing Maradalu to star hero. What’s disappointing is; Anasuya never became a part of film promotions either during first look release or first teaser on Youtube. Anasuya’s look in the movie is kept hidden by SCN unit, may be to surprise the viewers only on big screen. Understanding her demand for identity, initially makers have released few pictures of Anasuya besides Nagarjuna.

Sharing few solo moments behind the scenes from SCN,’ Anasuya posted. As the film is set in rural backdrop, Anasuya has gone for complete image makeover and surely, she is going to dominate others with glittering presence.

‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ may be out of limelight for a while with other film promotions taking the driver’s seat but there is no way one can neglect Pawan Kalyan and his movie. Here comes producer Sharat Marar offering some funny moments of ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ team from the shooting spot. He says, ‘Sardaar and his gang aiming at the target on location.’ There is no necessity to mention on what they are aiming at? Yes, it is the coming Pongal season.

Reports say that, Pawan Kalyan is spending huge time with ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ team and is inspiring them to wrap up the shooting schedules at earliest possible. Producer Sharat Marar and director Bobby are also very excited observing this kind of dedication from Power Star. Apparently, they have got the target fixed… we need to wait and see how far ‘SGS’ is possible for Sankranti release?

Media Mogul and entrepreneur Ramoji Rao is 78-year-old. Still little did he give up his business plans or his passion for television. In fact at 78, he is going against the tide setting as an example and inspiration to many.

At a time, most of the channels – entertainment, health, food, movies, lifestyle, news – are puzzled on churning out quality content and going through rough phase while few others closing their doors. Unfazed by the trend, trailblazer Ramoji Rao is bracing up to set up new set of channels.

Ramoji Rao is soon going to start four new channels – ETV Movies, ETV Life, ETV Abhiruchi and ETV Plus. While ETV Movies cater movies alone, ETV Life is based on health and fitness, ETV Abhiruchi focuses on food and cookery shows while ETV Plus delivers game shows and reality shows.

ETV is considered as old school programming and holds good sway among rural, semi-urban people. The latest move to set up 4 new channels is aimed at garnering youths and urband audiences who’ve been distancing from ETV.

Ramoji Rao is astute business man with meticulous planning. Most of his ventures are highly successful except his English daily News Time. Now he is going to test waters with these four channels.

TV host-turned-actress Colours Swathi had in her mind that she’d marry someone outside the industry. But she now seems to have change of her mind. Swathi is now open to marry someone within the same industry in which she is working for.

“Earlier, I was keen on marrying someone outside film industry. I thought if both are from same industry, it’d not be good. But I think it’s good idea to get married to someone within the same industry as they’d understand us well. I doubt whether people outside film industry would understand me and my work culture,” said Swathi expressing her concerns.

Talking about her Mr Right, she said, “He should be well-settled guy who understands, loves me. Above all, he should be honest. It’s very important character I look in him.”

Ask her when is the big thing going to happen. She simply says, “Whenever I find the right person, I’ll marry. I haven’t put any time frame. But if I find anyone so, I don’t even give him an option. I’ll tell him shut up and marry me.”

Swathi was quick to reply on how she takes rumours about her. “It all depends on my mood. If I’m in good mood, I just laught it off. If I’m in bad mood, definitely I’m not gonna take it easily.“

Today’s generation is literally sexist, because they speak about curves and hotness as quick as they discuss about astronauts, biochemistry and anthropology. And we have to comment anything about Ali, he’s on par with the current generation. As his comments on Anushka’s thighs have stirred another storm in Tollywood, let’s discuss both sides of the coin.

First of all, many critics have sharpened their blades, blasting Ali for insulting a woman, Anushka, very publicly on the stage. While feminists itself don’t see this as any insulting act as Ali is just praising the already known glamour of this star heroine, some critics feel that Ali’s tongue should be tied hard. Some insiders say, Ali is made to throw such sexist remarks, because those events will get hype.

Like during awards functions how Shahrukh and Ranbir throws satires on other celebs, informing them in prior about the satire they are going to face, even Ali is heard letting those heroines know about the remarks and later he will make audiences enjoy his lines.

Admirers of the senior actor feel proud of Ali because he makes such sexist comments on the face of any actress but not on their back. Rather drooling over an actresses’ assets and glamour off the record, he’s better anyway talking them straight. Any actress would generally take it as a praise, because being a heroine is all about flaunting that glamour most of the time. Maybe others are jealous that they are not able to comment like Ali, his fans say.

When Trivikram praised Anushka’s ‘pikkalu’ in Khaleja or Rajamouli got his lyricist to praise the beauty of women in couple of Baahubali songs or in Vikramarkudu’s Jhum Jhum Maya song, they are equally sexist and happening in a poetic way. Looks like Ali is doing it more common man kind.

In Ali’s case, what’s more amazing is that none of the actresses like Suma, Anasuya, Samantha or Anushka have made any complaints. At least, they didn’t even put up any indirect attack on him. That maybe shows they are liking his sexist remarks and taking the positive side of it. Also most of Ali’s income through these events, game shows and else goes to charity, which makes our heroines let him go beyond boundaries. That raises TRPs, and Ali donates more to the poor.

On the other hand, society could easily digest things that are told in disguise, like praising glamour on silver screen through songs and using double entendres in lyrics. Maybe Ali should resist making such sexist remarks quite openly, because unwanted criticism is affecting his 30 years of golden work very badly.

Warangal: A former Congress parliament member’s daughter-in-law and three grandsons were killed in a fire at his house in Warangal town early Wednesday, police said. The daughter-in-law’s parental family said they doubt it was an accidental fire.S. Sarika and her all three sons – Abhinav, 7, Ayan, 3, and Sriyan, 3 – were burnt alive in the fire that broke out in her bedroom on the first floor of the house of former Congress MP Siricilla Rajaiah.

Rajaiah was the party’s candidate for the Lok Sabha by-election from the Warangal constituency, but opted out of the poll after the tragedy in the family. Fire brigade officials extinguished the fire around 6.30 a.m. What caused the fire is unclear and senior police officials said they have launched the investigations. “We found four bodies in the house. We are investigating. It’s premature to say anything now,” Warangal Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu told reporters.

Police are questioning Rajaiah and his son S. Anil Kumar about what happened on Monday night and if they were present in the house. Sarika’s parents in Nizamabad district said they doubted it was an accidental fire. They also ruled out suicide. Women’s organisations alleged that Sarika and the children were murdered and demanded action against the former MP and his son.

Sarika in 2013 had lodged a complaint with police that Anil was mentally torturing her for more dowry. Last year, she staged a sit-in in front of Rajaiah’s house, seeking justice for her and her children. She also complained that Anil has been neglecting her and their children as he was having an extra-marital affair with another woman. Anil and Sarika were in a relationship while studying engineering in Hyderabad and had a registered marriage in 2002. A traditional marriage ceremony was later held with the consent of both the families in 2006.

The Congress last week named Rajaiah as its candidate for by-election from the Warangal (SC) parliamentary constituency scheduled to be held on November 21.He was elected from the same constituency in 2009 but was defeated in the polls last year. Rajaiah filed nomination papers for the by-election on Monday, but decided to opt out of the race following the tragedy. He conveyed to the party leadership that he can’t contest the by-poll.

As Akhil is making entry as hero, the Tollywood industry is voluntarily avoiding competition and giving him a smooth release. Couple of movies that were to release pre and post Deepavali have changed their plans to avoid competition with Akhil’s first movie.

The movies that are postponed for Akhil’s movie include Ravi Teja’s Bengal Tiger, Kamal Haasan’s Cheekati Rajyam and Nikhil starrer Shankarabharanam.

Ravi Teja’s Bengal Tiger is postponed to November 27th from November 7th. Kamal Haasan is releasing his Toongavanam on 10th November in Tamil, while the Telugu version Cheekati Rajyam has been postponed to November 20th just to avoid the clash with Akhil’s movie.

On the other hand, Nikhil’s Shankarabharanam is pushed to December 4th from November 20th. So, the road is all cleared for solo fight at the box-office for Akhil. If the movie gets good talk on the first day, it will have two-weeks of run without major competition.
