Balayya’s Ahalya is not innocent
After gaining prominence in Tollywood through several of her striking performances in Rakta Charitra, Dhoni and Balayya’s Legend and Lion, Marathi actress Radhika Apte went off the radar due to her controversial comments on male chauvinism in Tollywood. However, the actress is quite busy in Bollywood and even in Tamil and Bengali.
Last night, Radhika’s latest short film in the direction of Kahaani’s director Sujoy Ghosh was released to a rousing applause. Titled Ahalya, the breathtaking thriller revolves around three characters, Radhika as Ahalya, her 78 year old husband and a young cop. The usually intense and demure Radhika shed all the inhibitions, as she wears a spaghetti that reveals her sensuous side and the actress looks hotter than ever in a curly hair do.
Not stopping with this, the director even gave a stunning twist to Ahalya’s character as opposed to that of the original character in epic Ramayana, in which Ahalya was seduced by Lord Indra. In the short film, Radhika seduces the cop named Indra Sen and traps him mysteriously.
If Trivikram used Ahalya-Gautama story to derive comedy in Atharintiki Dharedhi, Radhika and her team exploited it for giving us a gripping thriller.
Amaravati Masterplan Looks Like Magadheera & Baahubali Trailer
The YSRCP’s Nagari MLA Roja has once again lashed out at the AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s government. The firebrand MLA reportedly alleged that the AP government is wasting 1 lakh crores by giving it away to the Singapore government towards the designing of master plan and capital construction.
Lambasting further at the government, Roja said that the lavish Amaravati master plan looks like the grand VFX filled trailers of Magadheera and Baahubali, and that the government is cheating its people by showing all the beautiful buildings in the world and calling it a matter plan. Roja also said that how can the government build such an expensive capital city without a penny in its treasure.
Calling the Amaravati master plan as Chandrababu’s diversion plan from the cash for vote scandal, Roja said that common people have no place in the capital. Roja further questioned the government about the status of the farmers who have given their high yielding lands for capital construction.
Roja concluded saying that Chandrababu must put an end to his publicity gimmicks and work towards the welfare of the common people.
Anushka to tone down for Baahubali-2
Sweety Anushka had put up so much of weight to play the role of an obese woman in her next, Size Zero. The shooting of the movie is complete recently and the actress had now hit the gym to tone down and get in shape for Baahubali-2.
Anushka who is seen in a very limited and deglamour role in Baahubali, will be seen for the most of the part two. She will play the role of a royal princess and will be seen romancing Prabhas. 40% of Baahubali-2 shooting is complete.
The shooting of the remaining portion will begin from September 15th and it will go non-stop till completion. Baahubali is also contemplating to make some changes in the script of Baahubali-2 basing on the feedback of the public on part one.
TDP MLA’s Daughter passed away
Pithapuram MLA SVSN Varma’s daughter Kavya died due to ill-heath. It is learnt that she is suffering from Brain Tumour for some time.
Kavya has been a student of an engineering college in Hyderabad. After she complained of severe headache, The 21-Year-Old was rushed to a local hospital initially and later shifted to a private hospital in Kakinada on Monday midnight as the condition kept deteriorating. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Family Members of SVSN Varma are in deep shock with the sudden demise of Kavya at a very young age. May the soul rest in peace!
SVSN Varma contested as Independent in 2014 Polls and defeated YSRC Candidate Dora Babu by a margin of 47,080 votes. Later, He joined ruling party TDP.
Tollywood Top Stars’ Heroine Kanakam No More
One of the earliest actresses in the history of Telugu Cinema, T Kanakam has passed away this morning at her Vijayawada residence. Kanakam was 88. She was suffering from several old age related problems for a long time. Kanakam was born in Kharagpur, West Bengal in 1927 but later moved to Vijayawada.
The legendary actress started out her career as a singer in All India Radio and later stepped into films with Gruhapravesam in 1946. Kanakam went on to act in several timeless classics like Gunasundari Katha, Keelu Gurram and Pathala Bhairavi etc. Kanakam’s last film was 1967 film Bhakta Prahlada, after which she returned to Vijayawada.
Recognizing her service towards radio, theatre and film, the AP government honored Kanakam with the Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao Award in 2004. Kanakam acted with all the yesteryear top stars like NTR, ANR, SVR, Krishna, Sobhan Babu, Haranath and others. Several film and political personalities paid homage the late actress.
A Hot Discussion: Rape Of Avantika
A column written by one noted journalist named Anna MM Vetticad in a national wide popular newspaper has now led to online furore. With fans taking both the sides, no doubt this rendering of a so-called romantic act as a rape has led to accusations, cuss words and insults. For starters, Avantika is the character played by milky beauty Tamanna in Rajamouli’s “Baahubali” and here goes what is happening.
Apparently the author questioned, how come a guy (Sivudu) who is teasing a girl (Avantika) when she’s fighting back with a sword, will strip off her dress, expose her skin to the whole world, and then she falls flat for him and sleeps with him between the sheets. In the movie, we could notice this sequence, where Prabhas skilfully cuts pieces of Tamanna’s dress to expose her feminine curves and then she falls for him.
The author also questioned if we allow someone to enter our daughter’s bed room and paint a tattoo on her body? Is it not invading the privacy of a woman and playing with her body? After forceful stripping of her dress, Sivudu then having sex with Avantika character is nothing less than a rape, the author said.
Supporting this journalist, many others voiced their opinion in her favor, saying that domination, insult and forced sex is what the scene could be termed as. While the lovers of “Baahubali” called it as an act of romance, hardcore feminists are asking if we agree someone does the same to our sisters and daughters. Also they are finding fault as Rajamouli portrayed Tamanna’s scene like taming a beast. We have to see if our director or his team ever answers that.
Shelved Bhagamati to see Silver Screen?
Prabhas, Rana, Tamanna, Anushka’s Baahubali the Beginning directed by Rajamouli won the appreciation of entire world and is minting money at the box office. Though Anushka was seen as Devasena only for few minutes she left many questions unanswered and the same will be answered in Baahubali the Conclusion.
Even before the film’s second part shooting, Anushka’s another film Rudramadevi directed by Gunasekhar will be releasing in a grand manner on September 4. Even her Size Zero is nearing completion progressing at brisk pace. In the meantime it is coming out that her Bhaagamati also will come out and start its regular shoot.
Now with Anushka’s Baahubali creating records, UV Creations changed its mind and is planning to start Bhaagamati’s regular shoot. Official confirmation will put an end to all speculations.
Baahubali’s Sensation in Kerala
SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali is going strength to strength in other languages too. The movie is doing very well in Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil despite competition from other local releases which released last Friday.
In Kerala, the movie had grossed about 7 Crore in 11 days run so far and it entered the all time Top 10 of Non-Malayalam films in Kerala. Trade pundits expect the movie to have an extended run there and to end up in Top 5 in its full run.
The movie would have done even better if not for the theaters strike in Kerala which hampered the movie release on the first day. So far except Bunny, none of the Telugu stars managed to have sizeable following in Kerala. But now suddenly Prabhas’ popularity graph soared.
Baahubali 11 days Collections
Baahubali had an exceptionally rock-steady 2nd Monday yesterday. This comes as a big shock to every body in the Trade. After garnering huge Revenue over the last 10 days, every one thought the movie will go down.
The movie had raked in a moolah of 3.59 Crore share in AP and Nizam which is comparable to its day 7 of 1st week. The total is still good enough for even 1st Monday.

Impossible For Mahesh Babu, Not in The Near Future!
Mahesh Babu has time and again proved his dominance at the US Box Office. While other big heroes find it tough to make it to the Million Dollar club, Mahesh has achieved that feat with his flop movies.
1 Nenokkadine and Aagadu despite being failures have collected more than Million Dollars in US. These films could have set records in US if they got good reviews and hit talk.
Trade always used to say that Mahesh Babu would be the first hero to enter 2 Million Dollar Club. But before he did that feat Baahubali arrived and has collected over 6 Million Dollar Gross in US.
This was not even in the wildest dreams of anyone until Baahubali did it for real. Now Mahesh fans are expecting Srimanthudu to repeat similar magic at US Box Office.
Mahesh has wide following in US and his films register highest collections all the time. However breaking this 6 Million Dollar record is not possible for Mahesh Babu or any other hero in the near future, opine trade pundits.
Even if Srimanthudu gets blockbuster talk, it could collect 3 Million Dollars at the best they predict. It would take some epic movie preferably directed by Rajamouli to recreate such magic not just in US but everywhere is what they say.
Prabhas To Go On A European Holiday
Prabhas has finally decided to go on a much deserved holiday after nearly three years of hard work for S.S. Rajamouli-directed ‘Baahubali’. The Telugu star along with a group of friends will soon head to Europe for a short trip.
“All of us who worked on the film (‘Baahubali’) deserve a holiday. I’m taking one too. I’ll be leaving to Europe shortly with a few friends from school and college. It’ll be two-week trip and once I return, we resume shoot of ‘Baahubali 2’,” Prabhas told IANS.
Reportedly, Rajamouli too will be going on a holiday with his family soon.Prabhas, who played dual characters in “Baahubali”, is extremely happy with the film’s success.He credits the success to the film’s script.
“The script was bigger than all the actors in this film. A film will only work when the script is good. We stars only bring the script to life,” he said.Nearly 40 percent of the second part in the franchise has already been shot.
“We resume shoot from September. I’m taking this break to rejuvenate myself for the shoot. I’m sure Rajamouli is going to make us go through another long schedule of gruelling shoot,” he said.The second part of “Baahubali” is slated for release in 2016.
Only Interested In Prominent Characters
Bhoomika Chawla needs no introduction to movie lovers, especially in Tollywood.This Punjabi girl has starred opposite most big heroes in Tollywood and has blockbusters such as ‘Khushi’, ‘Simhadri’, ‘Missamma’ and ‘Okkadu’ to her credit.
She married yoga guru Bharat Thakur and turned producer with the movie ‘Thakita Thakita’. Unfortunately, it tanked at the ticket window. She also tried her hand at running a Telugu film magazine for some time.
Now blessed with a baby boy, Bhoomika is still much in demand with offers coming her way. However, she has made it clear that she is not interested in bit roles or guest appearances anymore and will only consider those projects which have a substantial role for her.
