The sequel will see Ranveer Singh reprise his role as Hamza Ali Mazari, the Indian spy who infiltrated Pakistan’s criminal underworld in the first part. There is also strong speculation that Akshaye Khanna will return with an expanded backstory, adding more depth to the narrative.
The original Dhurandhar faced bans in several countries due to its alleged anti-Pakistan undertones, which only amplified its controversy and visibility. Ram Prepares Own Script After Back-to-Back Setbacks
Energetic star Ram has faced a rough patch following the success of iSmart Shankar, with four consecutive setbacks – Red, The Warrior, Skanda, and Double iSmart. Even his recent release Andhra King Taluka received some positive reviews, but failed to make an impact at the box office. While critics praised the film, it didn’t translate into commercial success.

Interestingly, Ram is also working on a script of his own. This story is expected to be ready in about two months, and it seems likely that he will proceed with it. However, the possibility of him directing it himself is not being considered at this stage. For now, his focus is entirely on success, and he wants to collaborate with someone capable of turning his stories into hits.
So far, Ram hasn’t prepared a story solely on his own. This marks the first time he is writing a script specifically aimed at success. Back when Red, a remake of the Tamil film Thadam, was being adapted for Telugu audiences, Ram contributed ideas to align the narrative with local sensibilities.
Ram has a strong understanding of how to design scenes to highlight his performance. While Red didn’t achieve commercial success, its stylish execution impressed audiences. During projects like Shivam and Hyper, he actively collaborated with his team on script development. Additionally, he has a good grasp of technology, editing, and shot-making. Now, all this talent may be applied to his own story, giving him an opportunity to fully shape the film.
