Watch Running Commentary – CM KCR afraid of 2019 Elections ?
It’s official: Bombay Velvet is a dud
It certainly seems like Anurag Kashyap’s woes are far from over. In fact the director whose recent release Bombay Velvet opened on a poor note has had a disastrous weekend, with collections hitting rock bottom.
Dissed by almost every critic, the film opened with a disappointing Rs 5.20 crore on the ticket windows on Friday, and only rose marginally on Saturday to settle at Rs 5.80 crore. Even Sunday’s collections did not bring any cheer to the team, and now trade pundits are calling it a dud.
Bombay Velvet is one of the lowest opening weekend grossers of Ranbir Kapoor, collecting a measly Rs. 16.10 cr.
Interestingly, ever since the promos of Bombay Velvet were out, there were unconfirmed reports that Kashyap had slipped into depression and was avoiding interviews. He tried to make amends on Sunday, when he posted a long message on Facebook, claiming that he still believes in the film, and the team that executed his dream.
TRS Ready To Join Modi Govt?
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi appears to be in a tearing hurry to join the National Democratic Alliance government headed by Narendra Modi at the earliest, notwithstanding the earlier reports that the BJP leadership is not very keen on allying with the TRS.
TRS MP from Nizamabad Kalwakuntla Kavitha, daughter of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, did not rule out the possibility of TRS joining the NDA government.
“If there is an invitation from the Prime Minister, we have no problem in joining the Central government,” she said in an informal chat with media persons in Nizamabad.
Sources said KCR and Kavitha had already prepared the ground to join the Modi government. While KCR has been going soft on Modi and BJP national leadership, Kavitha has been hobnobbing with Modi and other Central leaders in Parliament, taking selfies with them.
Sources said Kavitha might be inducted into the Modi government sooner or later in the “best interest” of the State, sources said.
Lokesh Ready For Bigger Role In TDP!
Nara Lokesh Naidu, son of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is already playing an extra-constitutional role in the Telugu Desam Party. And now, he is eager to get into a bigger role.
This was indicated by Lokesh himself in an interview to a popular television channel.
“I will take up whatever responsibility I am entrusted with. Right now, I have been asked to take care of the TDP workers’ welfare wing. If I am asked to take up bigger task, I will. The ultimate decision maker is the party president,” he said.
There have been reports that Lokesh might be made the working president of the party and would be asked to take care of strengthening the party in Telangana region.
In any case, he has already been acting as de facto president of the party and hence, there is no need for any official position for him, say sources.
By 2024, Father will be PM & son will be CM
Coordinator of TDP party workers’ welfare fund, Nara Lokesh, would be the Chief Minister of the residuary Andhra Pradesh and his father-present CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu would be the Prime Minister. According to TDP senior leader YVB Rajendra Prasad, Lokesh would occupy CM’s chari and Mr Naidu would take over the reigns of the counrty as Prime Minister by the year 2024.
YVB Rajendra Prasad donned the hat of soothsayer and predicted that both Mr Naidu and his scion Nara Lokesh would occupy the powerful roles. Rajendra Prasad heaped praises on Lokesh who returned from US after successfully persuading NRIs to adopt over 2400 villages of AP.
Rajendra Prasad dubbed Lokesh as a worthful person to lead the party from front, he demanded the party to pass an unanimous resolution making Lokesh as party’s General Secretary.
Balayya, Your Heart Is Gold’ayya
Standing on a word given and speaking truth out of heart- These are the two things that many talented and star heroes fail to stick to sometimes. No offences meant. We have to say that Nandamuri Balakrishna is one super star who has no tantrums, ego and anything else while he has to resort to certain stuff.
By the time we are talking about this, “Lion” movie was declared as a below-average performer at box office by trade experts. What made Balayya continue with this project when he knows that a newcomer would surely falter in dealing such a complex narrative?
There are many heroes who left projects mid-way when output is not exciting, but Balayya got stuck to his commitment to newcomer Satyadeva as this guy impressed him with the story narration. Come what may with the result, this Nandamuri scion never steps back half way.
We could notice Balayya’s upright nature, when he reveals about his 100th project and his son’s debut. He said that a decision will be taken only when it is time to do. Also he clarified that he isn’t giving any acting tips to his son. “My dad (Sr NTR) hasn’t shared any acting tips with me, so Am I with Mokshagna”, Balayya said.
When many star-fathers are literally controlling their sons by taking decisions about their looks and shooting locations too, Balayya is one different man who believes in living our life ourselves.
With such wonderful characteristics in a man, what could we say except— ‘Balayya, your hear is gold’ayya’.
KCR mark insult to renowned Dance Couple?
There have been reports since yesterday that the noted Kuchipudi exponents and the famous dance couple, Radha and Raja Reddy were denied permission to perform their dance this year at Ravindra Bharathi. Every year, it is customary for them to deliver their performance at this time of the year.
The official response from the government is that since ‘Kuchipudi’ style is not related to Telangana state, there has been no permission given for them. So in a way this is being projected as if there is no place for Andhra dance forms in Telangana, but there seems to be an interesting backdrop to it.
Apparently, right from 2001, when TRS was born and to this day, the names of this famous couple were displayed at the board of party office. The list includes all prominent personalities of Telangana state. KCR also once hailed them as ‘Adilabad biddalu’ proudly as they hail from Nirmal region here.
But it is said that KCR had offered their family an Assembly ticket to contest from here during last elections and they had politely declined saying they have no interest in politics. Now the grapevine is that they got back KCR style insult for their refusal to join TRS. Now their dance shows are not being entertained labeling Kuchipudi as Andhra dance form.
Police Case On Chiru For Inaugurating Idol?
Earlier Supreme Court has made it clear that idols of various leaders and icons shouldn’t be installed in the middle of busy centres there by causing severe hurdles to traffic and commuters. Basing on that decision, an idol inaugurated by Megastar might award him a trouble.
Media reports say that a case is likely to be filed on Megastar and Former union minister Chiranjeevi forinaugurating the idol of King Sri Krishnadevaraya at the busy centre of Kadapa district’s Railway Kodur on Saturday. Reports have that the organisers who have contributed for the installation of the idol haven’t taken police permission to do so.
Reacting on a complaint filed by a lawyer, Police have booked 18 organisers while they are contemplating to lodge cases on Chiranjeevi, former MLA C Ramachandraiah, MLC Changalrayudu, Tirupathi MLA Sugunamma and TTD Board member Hari Prasad.
Another media house made it clear that the case was lodged purely due to Caste-based issues as the idol and its organisers and Chiru-gang, all belong to same community. With couple of Ruling party’s people involved and Chiranjeevi at the receiving end, we have to see where this case leads to.
