Pretty excited by the result her “Dongata” has fetched at box office, producer-director Lakshmi Manchu says that she is feeling the true power of happiness now. Sharing her thoughts in a  TV channel’s live show, she credited her director Vamsi Krishna for the success of this film, and also her team of writers.

“While reading the scenes during script stages, I can’t get through them because I can’t control my laughs. I didn’t expected Dongata to become such a big hit, but the response from various quarters proved that it’s going to be biggest”, said Lakshmi. She informed that her dad’s fans from all areas called her to congratulate. Also distributors have expressed their happiness that they will be able to safely recover investment and amass profits, she says.

Probably the post-release promotions need to pepped up for “Dongata” such that the graph goes up. Being holiday season, an ‘average’ mouth-talk is enough to make any small film a big hit. Give some time, numbers will talk for Lakshmi.

Puri Jagannadh happy losing extra responsibilities?

puri

Puri Jagannadh is once again ready with his latest film, Jyothi Lakshmi. Starring Charmme in the main lead, the film deals with the hardships faced by a young girl who dreams of becoming a film star. The film’s first look poster has been launched yesterday and Charmme’s mass avatar has become a talk of the town.

Speaking to the media, Jagan said that Jyothi Lakshmi’s main plot has been inspired from famous Telugu novel Mrs. Parankusam written by erstwhile legendary writer Malladi Venkata Krishnamurthy. Interestingly, this is the second straight film in which Jagan has not penned his own story after his previous film Temper in which Jagan roped in star writer Vakkantham Vamsi to pen the story.

Even though Jagan dabbled with the screenplay department for Temper, the main writing credit was given to Vamsi. Not stopping here, Jagan has once again teamed up with yet another popular writer BVS Ravi for the much discussed Megastar’s 150th film, making it a hat-trick film in which the story is not written by him.

This paved way for an interesting talk about Puri Jagannadh being happy with losing the extra responsibilities of writing the story and screenplay by himself. This can set the director free from the burden of scripting and he can freely concentrate on directing. Let’s hope that this new strategy work out for Puri Jagannadh in his upcoming films.

A team of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials have declared to seize Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal on Saturday for the non-payment of property and other related taxes which are accounted as Rs 12 Crore. Industrial Area Local Authority (IALA) of Uppal has alleged that Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is not coming forward to pay the pending taxes despite repeated alerts. With no other option in hand, IALA said to have decided to lock-out the stadium.

However, this issue has been there for a while. In fact, GHMC officials tried to seize the stadium last Saturday ahead of the first IPL match. But after holding negotiations with HCA president Arshad Ayub, GHMC officials given additional time for the HCA to pay the property taxes which was not yet kept. This led GHMC to take steps to lock-out the stadium.

Meanwhile, the cricket fans are in dilemma as there are three IPL matches scheduled in the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in the next week. Sun Risers Hyderabad versus Kings XI Punjab match is slated for May 11. Sun Risers Hyderabad versus Royal Challengers Bangalore is scheduled for May 15 and Sun Risers Hyderabad versys Mumbai Indians match is due for May 17. With GHMC leaving no stone unturned to seize stadium, the aforementioned matches are in limbo. Above all, fans who have bought the tickets in advance for the matches are in big dilemma.

Going into details, HCA officials claim that they had never paid the property tax stating that it as a sports venue. However, GHMC officials has been insisting that since a lot of commercial activity going on in the stadium, property tax has to be paid. IALA is expected to seize the stadium in the presence of GHMC officials and the local MLA.

Mahesh Babu Is Angry?

Share

mahesh

Right now, superstar Mahesh is said to be very angry. Well, naturally, the next question would be who is he angry about? So the story from Film Nagar is that Mahesh terribly miffed with the unit of Baahubali. And here is the story.

If you have been following news, then you will know that Baahubali was slotted for release in May. So, the team of Koratala Siva’s Sreemanthudu decided that they will give Baahubali a month’s gap and decided to release their film in July or on July 17 to be more precise.

Since both their films are big, they felt that a month’s gap would be appropriate. Now, suddenly, Rajamouli has announced that he would be releasing Baahubali on July 17. And that’s precisely the reason why Mahesh is said to be really angry right now.

Naturally, his feelings are totally understood. Had Rajamouli announced the same some time back, then Mahesh would have pushed the film to May. Now, it will become a prestige issue and Koratala Siva and Mahesh will have to stick to July just to prove a point.

Prestige apart, releasing simultaneously will mean cut in revenues to both parties involved as the buyers will shell out huge amounts for both the films.

If both of them release with a gap, both of them will mint money at the box office. However, now it remains to be seen who will back off by July.

What Are You Doing Then?

Chandrababu Naidu seems to have forgotten that he is the Chief Minister and still speaking like the ‘Leader of Opposition’. Force of habit, you see!

Addressing a public meeting at Kamalapuram village in Kadapa district, Naidu said that several industrialists are not keen on setting up industries in Kadapa district because of the YSRCP leaders.

“They are preferring Chittoor, Krishna and Visakhapatnam districts as they are afraid of launching operations in the district,” said Naidu.

Citing the misdeeds of many high officials and people like Gali Janardhan Reddy, Naidu appealed to the people to boycott the leaders of the district who create terror.

As the Chief Minister, it is the responsibility of Naidu to usher in all-round development in the State.

If YSRCP leaders are really creating terror, then what are you doing as the CM? You have the power in your hands to set things right instead of resorting to opportunistic allegations.

So, it’s high time that you started acting instead of just leveling allegations or giving lame reasons.
