Is He Man or Woman? KCR Ridicules Uma
Telangana Chief Minister KCR is at it again. Mincing no words when it comes to passing belittling comments while attacking the leaders and people of Andhra Pradesh, KCR on Friday stooped to new low and asked whether AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao was a “man” or “woman”.
This is not all. KCR dubbed him as Andhra Sannasi (Andhra’s Mindless Nincompoop) for the second time. Earlier, KCR had used similar language against Uma back in November 2014 which received severe flak from people of AP.
Speaking at the Dindi Lift Irrigation project, CM KCR said, “Besides Devarakonda, Munugodu constituencies, the project covers several other parts of Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda. But an Andhra Sannasi (AP Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma) is questioning how do we build this project. I don’t understand whether he has mind or not and whether it works or not.”
Asking the people flanked by him, what is the name of the minister, and when they replied as “Uma”, KCR ridiculed, “Uma means whether he is a man or woman?” KCR had further escalated his attack against Uma by stating, “He has been asking from from how do we have rights to build the project? I doubt whether he is human-being or not.”
KCR didn’t even spare AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. Hinting at the issue of recent note-for-vote scandal unravelled in Telangana, KCR said, “Naidu is all set to go to jail.” KCR’s latest remarks have been getting huge backlash from the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Talk About Blockbusters? Here’s A Shocking Example
While most big budget films featuring star heroes and directors and being made by reputed production houses across the country are finding it tough to even recover the principal investments, here’s a small film that stands as a shocking example of a blockbuster. The film in question is Tanu Weds Manu Returns (TWMR), starring Bollywood’s latest hit machine Kangana Ranaut and our very own Madhavan.
Yesterday, a noted trade analyst revealed a few stunning facts about the film’s box-office performance and the figures are nothing short of mind-blowing. Apparently, TWMR was made on a modest budget of 20 crores including all the production expenses and 10 more crores went into the publicity and advertisements, making a grand total of 30 crore investment.
Now, coming to the film’s astonishing business until 7th June, TWMR raked in a staggering 128.96 crores in India alone with a distributors’ share of 58.03 crores. In the overseas, the film collected close to 41.60 crores with a share of 20.80 crores. Adding 6 crores from the audio, video and other rights plus 22 crores for the satellite rights, Tanu Weds Manu Returns stands at a shattering budget recovery of 106.83 crores with a profit of 76.83 crores at a breathtaking return on investment (ROI) of 256.11%.
Remember, the above figures are only until 7th June and the numbers will notch up slightly higher in these 5 days. TWMR is a simple story about a couple on the verge of divorce. Simple storytelling with impeccable performances is the primary reasons behind this roaring success. Alas, if only our filmmakers stick to simplicity than gloss and sky-high budgets!
Jaguar Car Crushed, Driver Escaped Unhurt
A posh Jaguar car was crushed in Hyderabad when its driver mistakenly rammed it into another car on the road. Fortunately, none of them was hurt and managed to escape unhurt. The incident was reported at the Jalagam Vengal Rao park near Punjagutta.
The driver who was behind the wheels at the time of the incident fled the spot abandoning the damaged car on the road. What’s shocking is that the number plate of the car has gone missing soon after the accident.
However, police have managed to trace out the owner of the car. According to reports, the car belongs to a businessman in Secunderabad. Although the car owner said to have claimed that his driver was behind the wheels during the accident, police is investigating who really was driving the car then.
Police are also probing if this was a case of drunken driving. A case has been booked against the Jaguar driver under rash driving.
KCR Garu, How did 63 Become 77?
It’s common knowledge by now that the Telangana Rashtra Samiti has 77 MLAs although it won only 63 MLAs in the general elections 2014. No, it doesn’t require a special skill or higher-level intelligent quotient (IQ) to find out the exact reasons for the steep increase in the number of MLAs of TRS. Several TDP MLAs, YSRCP MLAs and Congress MLAs have ditched their parties and joined the TRS.
Shooting a straight question to KCR, Loksatta party chief, former Kukatpally MLA and ex IAS officer Dr Jayaprakash Narayan asked, “How did you get 77 MLAs when people gave you only 63 #TrsJumpJilaani.” JP demanded the Speaker to intervene in the matter immediately as the people of respective constituencies have not voted for TRS.
JP warned that this kind of dangerous trend of switching political parties after elections would end up people lose their confidence on democracy and elections. JP said, “I demand the Hon’ble Speaker to disqualify all the members who changed party.”
Questioning the same, JP along with his Loksatta partu workers has sit up on a Nirasana Deeksha at Indira Park on Saturday. At the same time, he didn’t even spare TDP chief, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. He asked Naidu to prove his honesty, sincerity amidst the unravelling of cash-for-note case.
Revanth Reddy’s Wife Steps into Action
Telangana TDP senior leader and Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy, who is facing the charge of bribing nominated MLA in the note-for-vote case, is quickly making his moves. Given that the ACB has handed over the audio recordings and video footage to the Forensic Lab and the reports would be come in a week, Reddy is reportedly planning to resign to his MLA seat. And yes, Reddy is not giving up the seat out of the family and he’s coming up with a smart move.
In an attempt to not to lose foothold in his Kodangal constituency, Revanth is mulling over to rope in his wife Geeta Reddy into action. TDP is strongly backing the move and party chief Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, Errabelli, Balakrishna said to have already given their nod. Revanth’s wife Geeta is politically active and nothing short of Firebrand Revanth.
To all the latecomers, Geeta Reddy has political connection and she is none other than the daughter of former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy’s brother. So, get ready for the political foray of Revanth’s wife Geeta Reddy.
Revanth Comes Up With Smart Strategy
One does not know what the outcome of Revanth Reddy’s case is going to be. But he is not going to take any chances with the future of his family in politics.
Revanth has reportedly instructed his wife, Geeta Reddy to take charge of the Party activities in his constituency, Kodangal located in Mahabubnagar.
Geeta has already held a meeting with political leaders from her husband’s constituency and got a first-hand report on the developments in the constituency following her husband’s arrest.
She has decided to be available to the people and leaders in the constituency on a 24/7 basis and as a first step will be meeting the farmers and enquire into their grievances, a programme initiated by Revanth prior to his confinement. Being a woman, the sympathy factor will obviously work in her favor.
The perception will be that she is devotedly following in the footsteps of her husband, a man victimized for speaking out against KCR. Not a bad move by Revanth. Not a bad move at all!
‘Goli Soda’ To Be Remade In Telugu
Producer Lagadapati Sridhar has acquired the Telugu remake rights of last year’s Tamil blockbuster “Goli Soda”, which was about four street urchins and their adventures for survival.
“I’ve bagged the remake rights of ‘Goli Soda’. I thought it was an extremely good film with great content. Moreover, it succeeded purely on the merit of content and didn’t require the presence of a star. The cast will be finalised soon,” Sridhar told IANS.
Sridhar is not new to remakes. His forthcoming Telugu romantic-drama “Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini”, which releases in cinemas on June 19, is the remake of Kannada film “Charminar”.
Talking about “Krishnamma…”, which is set against the backdrop of Krishna River, he said: “It’ll be a story that’ll be etched in the hearts of the audience”.
The film stars Sudheer Babu and Nanditha in lead roles.

Botsa dividing YSRCP
Recently Botsa Satyanarana, senior Congress leader dumped Congress and joined Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP. The reason he gave for his switching loyalties is, he wanted to take on ruling TDP led by Chandra Babu Naidu.
He kept his words and started taking on TDP and Chandra Babu Naidu launching a scathing attack on Chandra Babu Naidu and his ministers. However it is coming out that his inclusion is dividing YSRCP.
His arch rivals Sujay Krishna Venkata Ranga Rao, Bobbili MLA and his brother Baby Nayana held discussions about their future course of action following Botsa’s induction in the party.
Both of them opposed Botsa’s induction into the party. It is coming out aht Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy met Bobbili Rajas as an emissary of party president Jagan Mohan Reddy and tried placating them.
