Actor-filmmaker Ragava Lawrencce’s Tamil horror comedy “Kanchana 2”, which recently completed a 50-day run in cinemas, has grossed over Rs.100 crore at the box office worldwide.

“It’s the first blockbuster of this year in Tamil cinema. It has done phenomenal business by collecting Rs.108 crore at the ticket window worldwide. It continues to run to packed house in select theatres across Tamil Nadu,” trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Said to be made on a budget of Rs.17 crore, “Kanchana 2” has also turned out to be the most successful venture for all its stakeholders, going by the return on investment.

Lawrencce, who played the lead in the film, also helmed it. Nitya Menon and Taapsee Pannu played the leading ladies.

According to Lawrencce, “Kanchana 3” is currently in scripting stage.

Uday Kiran’s Last film ‘Chitram Cheppina Kadha’ is all set for release on June 26th which happens to be the actor’s Jayanthi. Interestingly Uday Kiran’s debut movie also released in June itself. With the movie release, fans and well wishers will get to see him for the last time on big screen.

Uday Kiran’s manager, Munna produced this film. Dimple and Madhalasa Sharma are the heroines in the film. LRK Mohan has directed the film. Financial issues forced delay in the release of this film till now but finally they are cleared and the makers have announced the release date.

We know that Uday Kiran commited suicide last year due to financial reasons after battling with depression for a long time due to multiple failures and non happening career. Fans will only hope the movie does well and its success will be a fitting success to the departed soul.

Our readers are aware that the audio launch event of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus film, Baahubali will now happen at Sri Venkateswara University grounds in Tirupati. The grand gala event is likely to take place on 13th of this month.

Rajamouli’s son, Karthikeya and popular Ceeded distributor and AP Film Chamber President, NV Prasad performed a formal pooja at the venue and the works of erecting the dais, seat arrangements etc will begin with this pooja.

The audio release event of the movie itself is creating new records. The event telecast rights have gone to TV5 News Channel for a whopping 1.5 Crore which is the highest in Telugu industry so far. Lahari had bagged the audio rights of both Telugu and Tamil versions for 3 Crore which is another record.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja recently started his endorsements by signing up for footwear brand, Lunar – Walkmate. And now he has signed one more endorsement. He will be endorsing a liquor brand, Lord and Master Whisky. He reportedly got a fancy amount for this deal.

Ravi Teja with these endorsements joins the elite club of celebrity brand ambassadors like Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, NTR, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and others. The actor recently shot for a photoshoot and ad commercial of the brand and it will go on air very soon.

Ravi Teja’s career is currently on a high with two back to back successes – Balupu and Power. His ready to release film, Kick-2 is one of the most awaited projects of the year as Kick was a blockbuster and is even remade in Hindi repeating the same result. However the makers are demanding hefty prices for Kick-2 slowing down the business.

Energetic Hero Ram’s Pandaga Chesko is holding well at the box office. Despite the not so good talk, the movie managed to collect a very good 11.85 Crore in Telugu States.

Summer holidays and no notable releases at the box office, helped the movie. Pandaga Chesko had to collect 16 Crore for breakeven.

Energetic Actor Ram was bogged down by back to back failures with Endhukante Premanta, Masala and Ongole Gitta. When every one thought Ram’s career is finished, then Pandaga Chesko has released and with initial bad talk and reviews, the film will end up as one more flop for Ram, every one thought.

But out of no where the dull Summer season helped the movie. There are no notable releases after Pandaga Chesko release and also there no big release for the next two week. Family audience who wants to watch a film before the summer holidays complete, are left with no option except for Pandaga Chesko.

The movie had so far collected 11.85 Crore in its 11 days run so far. The movie had to collect 16 Crore in its full run for a break-even.On the other side, Ram became busy shooting for his Shivam.

Energetic Hero Ram’s Pandaga Chesko is doing well at the box office and is likely to end up as an above average venture. Ram is now shooting for his other film, Shivam. Currently a fight scene is being canned in Ramoji Film City and Popular action choreographer Peter Heins is supervising it.

Touted to be an out and out mass action entertainer, the movie is directed by a debutante Srinivas Reddy. The project was supposed to be for Nithin. But it was put off after the movie was launched due to some creative differences.

Ram’s uncle, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, is producing the film under his Sravanthi Movies banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Raashi Khanna has been paired up with Ram. Besides Shivam, Ram also has another film Hari Katha in production.
