The Jana Sena Party, founded by Power Star Pawan Kalyan, is understood to have decided to opt out of the contest in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections in support of the Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party combine. It may be mentioned that Pawan Kalyan, while getting his party registered with the Election Commission, declared that his party would contest the GHMC elections.
It has triggered high hopes among his fans, who had reportedly submitted applications for the corporator seats in the GHMC elections. Some of the fans have even started campaigning in advance. However, Pawan has remained tight-lipped over the contest in GHMC elections and he remained elusive for his fans on the pretext that he was busy shooting for Sardar Gabbar Singh film.
Even though the notification process commenced on Tuesday, there was no clue from Pawan on the contest in GHMC polls. Inquiries revealed that he had told his close friends that the time was not ripe for his party to take a plunge into full time election politics. Moreover, it involved a lot of money and a structured party organization. So, it is better to stay away from polls at present, he told his followers.
