On Monday, former IAS officer Vijay Kumar filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, alleging misuse of government funds for the production of his film Hari Hara Veera Mallu. In the petition, Vijay Kumar sought to restrict Pawan Kalyan from acting in films or advertisements, promoting or producing them, or participating in any entertainment-related events.
Vijay Kumar also requested a CBI investigation into the alleged misuse of public funds for the movie. However, the High Court bench, led by Judge Dr. Justice Venkata Jyotirmayi Pratapa, rejected the lawyer’s request to issue notices to Pawan Kalyan, the CBI, and the ACB at this stage. The hearing has been postponed to next week.
So far, neither Pawan Kalyan nor the team of Hari Hara Veera Mallu has responded to the petition. The film, produced by AM Ratnam and released on July 24, turned out to be a massive box-office failure, resulting in significant losses for the producers.
