Starting Thursday, Jana Sena Party president and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan will begin a three-day series of meetings in Visakhapatnam under the banner “Senani with Sena.”
According to party sources, the objective of these meetings is to strengthen Pawan Kalyan’s connect with the cadre and the public. Over the course of three days, he will engage in detailed discussions with party leaders and activists, while also reviewing the implementation of welfare and development programmes by the coalition government.
A large number of leaders and supporters from both Telugu states are expected to attend. On August 29, ten long-standing party members from each Assembly constituency will be selected for in-depth interaction with the party chief. Later in the evening, cultural programmes showcasing the heritage of North Andhra will be held at YMCA Hall on Beach Road and the Municipal Stadium.
On August 30, a massive public meeting is planned at the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Stadium, where Pawan Kalyan will address the gathering at 6 PM. Party cadre are excited about this initiative, seeing it as a sign of Pawan dedicating more time to guide and inspire grassroots workers.
However, analysts point out that beyond review meetings and public addresses, Jana Sena needs to focus on long-term structural growth. Currently, many cadres feel the party is playing second fiddle to the Telugu Desam Party. Analysts suggest that Pawan must work towards establishing Jana Sena as an independent political force by building committees from the village level upwards, empowering them with responsibilities, and organizing continuous programmes to keep the cadre engaged.
They argue that strengthening the networking of the party base is more crucial than just conducting review sessions or delivering powerful speeches at public gatherings.
