While the Hindutva wave continues to dominate many North Indian states, it is actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan who is being credited with amplifying the voice of Sanathana Dharma in South India.
Kalyan earned admiration from his fans and followers for vocally opposing figures like Udhayanidhi Stalin and others who made controversial remarks about Sanathana Dharma. In response, his admirers began calling him titles such as “Sanathana Dharma Parirakshakudu” (Protector of Sanathana Dharma) and “Unapologetic Sanathani.”
When asked about being referred to with such epithets, Kalyan gave a grounded and thoughtful response:
“There is no need for anyone to wield a sword or go on a mission to protect Sanathana Dharma. It has been an inseparable part of our nation since time immemorial, and its spirit is unbreakable. All that is needed is to raise our voice when someone tries to demean or defame it. That is the responsibility I chose to take up — not because I want a title, but because I see it as my duty as a follower of Dharma.”
Kalyan humbly distanced himself from being labelled the “protector” of Dharma. True to his nature, he added that he doesn’t even embrace the widely popular “Power Star” tag, as titles or tags don’t define him.
Those who truly understand him know that he follows his principles out of personal conviction, not for public validation. For Pawan Kalyan, standing up for Sanathana Dharma is not a role—it’s a reflection of who he is.
