As proposed earlier, the Union Government is going on a rampage to privatise the assets and entities to acquire money from the process to invest the same in developing the infrastructure facilities in the country. On the same lines, the proposal of privatising the Vizag Steel Plant was also brought by the Centre.
Batting a blind eye towards the agitation carried out by the Visakha Ukku Parirakshana Porata Committee and other organisations, the BJP made it clear that there is no looking back in the decision, and in Parliament the Centre said the plant will be privatised.
The saffron party is all set to face a setback from its alliance party Janasena as the party is gearing up to hit the roads to join the protests to save the famous steel plant from getting privatised.
Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar who addressed the media recently said that the party will support the agitation to save the Vizag Steel Plant. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan will visit the shore city Visakhapatnam in October to extend his support to the protestors.
Nadendla Manohar said that the decision to meet the protestors was taken as part of the action plan to save the Steel Plant. Jana Sena chief will take part in the protests as a bid to stand in solidarity with the protestors. He went on to say that by extending support to the protestors, Janasena want to convince the Centre to stop the privatisation of the steel plant.
It’s an interesting move by the Janasena to stand with the interests of the state and prefer the issue over the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). The decisions might bring breaks to the friendship between Janasena and BJP as well.
Going against the decision taken by the BJP is nothing less than going against the saffron party. If the protests that are going on to save the Steel Plant get momentum with Pawan Kalyan stepping in, the big leaders in BJP might not be happy with this.
Noe the AP wing of BJP is said to be in a dilemma on how to react to the same. the leaders are unable to choose what to do now reportedly.
