Pawan Kalyan Secures ₹323 Cr for Uppada Coastal Protection

It is well known that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan shares a strong and cordial relationship with the central government, particularly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who fondly calls him “Aandhi” (meaning Storm).

What stands out is that Pawan Kalyan is leveraging this connection not for personal gain but for the development and welfare of Andhra Pradesh. A significant example of this is the recent principal approval granted by the Centre for constructing a protective wall along the Uppada Reach coast in Pithapuram.

Before the elections, Pawan Kalyan had addressed a public meeting in Uppada, highlighting the severe impact of beach erosion in the region, which has led to the loss of nearly 350 acres of land over the past century. He had then assured the locals that the issue would be addressed by building boulder and retaining walls once the NDA came to power.

Staying true to his word, Pawan Kalyan has now ensured that the central government allocates the necessary funds for this crucial project. The protective wall, aimed at curbing coastal erosion, will be built at an estimated cost of ₹323 crore and is expected to provide a long-term solution to the persistent problem.

It is indeed commendable to see the Deputy CM effectively utilizing his influence with the Centre to address long-standing issues in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Pithapuram, thereby fulfilling his promises with tangible actions.
