Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has raised concerns over the rising misinformation and manipulation on social media, calling it a serious challenge for the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. He addressed these issues during the collectors’ conference held yesterday, which was also attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Kalyan highlighted the alarming increase in caste-based and communal tensions online and stressed the need for active monitoring. “Every problematic post must be closely scrutinized, and strict surveillance measures must be implemented,” he stated.
The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized that women’s safety should remain a top priority, both online and offline. He instructed the police to pay special attention to the Sugali Preeti case and stressed the importance of cracking down on drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
Kalyan reiterated his long-standing call for stringent measures against the misuse of social media, noting that if district-level authorities take effective action, it could yield significant positive outcomes in the near future.
