Pawan Kalyan Yet to Decide on Nagababu’s Cabinet Entry

The delay in inducting Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader and newly-appointed MLC Konidela Nagababu into the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has sparked ongoing media speculation. While Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had earlier assured that Nagababu would be given a cabinet berth — particularly after missing out on a Rajya Sabha seat — the appointment is yet to happen.

On Tuesday, JSP president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan clarified that he has not yet made a decision regarding Nagababu’s induction into the cabinet. “The decision to bring him into the cabinet lies with me. I haven’t made that call yet,” Pawan stated, confirming his pivotal role in the matter.

Sources suggest that Pawan is cautious about both brothers holding cabinet posts, fearing criticism or perceptions of nepotism. As a result, Nagababu, despite being appointed an MLC, has remained outside the state cabinet.

However, the situation could change soon. Pawan is reportedly reconsidering his stance and may instead recommend Nagababu for a Rajya Sabha seat during the early part of next year. With a state cabinet reshuffle expected in the coming month, political circles are closely watching Pawan’s next move.

Adding another dimension to the development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to have indicated that Jana Sena will receive one berth in the Union Cabinet. If Nagababu secures a Rajya Sabha nomination, he could be a strong contender for the role. If not, Vallabhaneni Balashowry is reportedly next in line.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan stated that once he wraps up his ongoing film commitments, he will fully shift focus to governance and strengthening his party structure. He hinted at launching key organizational initiatives soon.
