South Indian politics has often seen a trend where major film superstars step into public life and test their fortunes in the political arena. While many have struggled to achieve lasting success, Pawan Kalyan stands out as one of the rare exceptions who has managed to make a significant impact.
Meanwhile, Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who is preparing to contest the upcoming Assembly elections through his TVK party, has been actively engaging in statewide campaigns. However, questions remain about the actual electoral outcome and public response to his political entry.
Recently, this topic came up during an interaction between Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and a group of Gen Z participants. A video from the interaction has gone viral, where Kalyan was asked about Vijay’s political journey. Responding in a balanced manner, he said, “I generally don’t give advice to anyone. Everyone is capable of doing things. But when it comes to Mr. Vijay, he is a very big star, and I think it’s great to serve people in whatever role he chooses.”
His statement reflected a neutral and measured stance, neither overpraising nor discouraging Vijay’s political ambitions. Earlier rumours suggested possible political discussions or alliances involving Vijay and national parties, but Kalyan clarified that he has not been in contact with Vijay for nearly a decade, putting those speculations to rest.
