It has been an established norm for last decade in Andhra Pradesh that whenever a sitting legislator expires, other parties would not keep candidates in fray and the election would be unanimous. Until Nandigama by election, this was the case but here Congress placed a candidate just to make sure its presence is also felt.
However, the main opposition in AP currently, YSRCP refrained from placing its candidate honoring an established norm. In Allagadda although Shobha Nagi Reddy passed away before elections, but as per official election commission records she is the candidate there and now there is a bye election as she expired.
With reports that TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu, is planning to have its candidate in fray, Pawan who had good ties with Nagi Reddy family when they were in PRP has reportedly suggested Chandrababu Naidu not to place TDP candidate and follow the established norm.
