Here is an exclusive photo moment of Bharat Ratna awardee and Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 90th Birthday. Vajpayee was born on December 25th, 1924. After BJP emerged as single largest party in 1996, He was sworn as 10th Prime Minister of India but had to resign after just 13 days as the saffron party failed to prove its majority.
He was sworn as PM for second time in 1998 but this time the NDA Government lasted for just 13 months as Jayalalithaa-led AIADMK withdrew its support to it. He third term as PM lasted for 5 Years with BJP-led NDA bagging 303 Lok Sabha seats. Vajpayee was elected to Lok Sabha for 9 times and Rajya Sabha for 2 times.
Nuclear Tests (1998), The Lahore Summit (1998-1999) & Kargil War (1999) took place during his regime. The President’s Office on Wednesday announced Bharat Ratna to Vajpayee. Highest Civilian Award to this Stalwart is a fitting recognition for his priceless service to the Nation. Wish the great man a very prosperous year ahead!
