Changing various release dates, finally Sai Dharam Tej’s “Jawan” locked December 1st if reports are to be believed. And people are expecting this movie to be quite a patriotic one owing to its title. But this hero is not a soldier in Indian Army, to your shock.
Actually, Sai Dharam Tej is playing the role of RSS member, a comrade of Hindutva, who advocates patriotism to his friends and others. What he has done to make India a better nation happens to be the story. None other than director BVS Ravi confirmed this. But giving support to an organization like RSS is distancing from certain sections of fans, isn’t it?
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, which calls itself as a unique social organization dedicated to India’s resurgence and global peace, is actually a right-wing organization with staunch Hindu-nationalist views. Known as the parent organization of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, the RSS is hugely criticized for its anti-feminist and pseudo secular attitude. At this point of time, if a movie hero is openly supporting it through his work, audiences might split.
For example, mega fanbase itself consists of huge supporters from Muslim community. Many people of this religion from Nellore and Kadapa areas are hardcore lovers of Megastar Chiranjeevi. And then, many backward classes are also great fans of mega heroes from a long time. What would they now think about Sai Dharam Tej’s movie when they are diametrically against RSS? Hope, the film might not look like a blind support to Hindu-nation and RSS-BJP ideology!
