Popular mobile game Pokemon Go is all set to go live in Japan, the birthplace of Pokemon. Currently the game is available in 30 countries including U.S., Canada and much of Europe.McDonald’s will be the first launch partner that will witness its 3,000 plus fast food restaurants across Japan become gyms for would-be Pokémon Go users.
Japan will be the first country in Asia, where the game will be officially launched. Niantic have also ignored Australia and New Zealand as it focused on getting the game to market in North America and Europe first. It is expected that further launches in Asian countries will happen within a week.
The Japanese game maker Nintendo, which suffered as a latecomer to smartphone games, was seeing the deep wealth of its franchise characters pay off with the success of ‘Pokemon Go,’ even without a launch in Japan.
Nintendo was starting to look like a casualty of history after missing both the online and mobile revolutions.
